Floor is the lead singer of Nightwish, her husband Hannes is the drummer for Sabaton, he was the one who was blown of his feet by the grenade and was also the first out of the trench. on a side note it's 110 years today since this happened.
Sabaton got lots of good songs. Usually about warhistory and real events or real people. They got several animated story videos that is really good where you get both the story/event behind the song and the actual song in the same video. definitely worth checking out. Merry Christmas to you guys aswell
I love Sabaton purely because of the power that each song gives off. Each song is a wave of energy and power that threatens to engulf you. ~ This song really showed the beauty of the Christmas Truce. How they put down their weapons and enjoyed Christmas together. no war, no weapons, no violence, just HAPPINESS AND PEACE ~ 🕊️🏳️☮️✌🏼 ThanX Love from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
I'm only a casual fan of Sabaton, but I do know they have many songs about military history. They and the historian Indy Neidell have a crossover RUclips channel called "Sabaton History." The generals were of course horrified by the fraternization of the Christmas Truce. They threatened severe punishments and successfully prevented a repeat.
Merry Christmas gentleman. So happy to see that you have reacted to this EPIC song . This song is just the tip of the iceberg of their incredible library of songs . In my 59 yrs of being on this planet, I have never come across anyone who can teach history in such a captivating way . If these guys had been around when I was in school, I would have aced history. For a long time subscriber to your channel, please check out "1916" and " No bullet's fly " animated story. Both these videos are absolutely EPIC and will definitely tug on the heart strings. Love your channel, keep up the great work Gentleman.
I would add the story vids for First Soldier, Soldier of Heaven, and Lady of the Dark as additional “wow” musically / heart-string tugs as well as being amazing stories
“Lest We Forget” is Sabaton mantra. They are not political they sing about military battles throughout history known and forgotten. You’re going to go down a deep foxhole they’ve been around for 25 years. Their catalogue is huge. They are so into remembering the sacrifices of military history and the sacrifices of the people that the have their own history channel on UTube called Sabaton History it tells the story behind their songs. I would check on Bismarck their official video. 1916 official video, The Sabaton army will be invading your channel with tons of suggestions and from this old, old metal rock head and in my humble opinion they have no bad songs videos or live. Merry Christmas and God Bless from New Jersey, USA. Rock On Stay Safe!🙏🇺🇸🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
To paraphrase an interview with the lead singer when asked why they sing historical songs "So many amazing stories are forgotten everyday, why would we need to make things up?"
First time Sabaton? Welcome! And thanks for the reaction! Sabaton picks less known Stories of Battles or single Persons, and make songs of their Story! Every Song of them would be a request or a wish, they all tell a different Story, from all Sides of the Frontline. So please do another one! Lest we Forget!
As it is also the 80th anniversary of The Battle of the Bulge you should checkout their song "Screaming Eagles" in honor of the 101st Airborne during that battle.
The R in English was also originally rolled. It slowly stopped being done at the end of the medieval period and by the end of the 1700s it was pretty much gone except for certain regional dialects.
Floor from Nightwish who is married to Hannes the drummer from Sabaton the guy who almost blew up by the Grenade. Sabaton has great Animated videos as well telling both sides to a story and opening our eyes to these wars. They have a dedicated history channel as well.
Yea,like someone else suggested in the comments. Please do their 1916 tribute song to Lemmy and Motorhead. It's about the young brittish volunteers facing the WWI battle of the Somme.Bring the tissues tho.Great reaction lads ❤
You watched the credits! And I was with you all the way - you had to ride it out to the end. I'm not a metal fan - never have been - the occasional song will grab me. This one did - wow! I have to say, without the video, I'm not sure that it would have had the same impact. But it sure packed a punch!
The Christmas Truce of WWI was the last gasp of Christendom, when the Christian soldiers of Europe put aside their temporal quarrel for the sake of the most Holy Nativity of our Lord.
I told this in another reaction of Christmas Truce. I say it again. Christians have sth you can't take away or make us not believe. We have the strength of forgivnes. You can intimidate us but you can't never, ever, take away our believe of forgivnes. That's why the muslims hate us so much. Because we have God on our side. Don't forget! / Micke P
Thank you for reaction gentlemen and Merry Christmas! 👍 I would suggest you to watch a little bit more Sabaton: The Attack Of The Dead Men (Radio Tapok) - ruclips.net/video/hRow6G5wQIw/видео.html The Attack Of The Dead Men (Sabaton History) - ruclips.net/video/ZCCSMhQsey8/видео.html Night Witches (Animated Story Video) - ruclips.net/video/5YPo8zDkvy4/видео.html
ok, I listened, the music sounded nice for a rock christmas song... but then, 5-6 lyrics into the song.. horrible!! such crap! written by such novice writers..

Kinda weird how much great music comes out of Sweden. ABBA is great, then there’s the rock bands Ghost and Sabaton which are really good.

The Christmas Truce of WWI was the last gasp of Christendom, when the Christian soldiers of Europe put aside their temporal quarrel for the sake of the most Holy Nativity of our Lord.

❤ so good
do "Bismarck" from sabaton, another epic song, well most of their songs are epic tho!
ooh when the ''lest we forget'' and the 2021 carved in the cross gave me goosebumps, and not in a good way :/
The movie they grafted this into, "Joyeux Noel", is one of my favorites. The music is good but I cringed a bit at what was done to the film.
