BloodShed the thing is “you matched the description” isnt necessarily an excuse at all. The description in question has to be sent in by someone, and if a cop gets that call and sees someone who matches, for all they know that person just robbed the bike off someone at gunpoint or busted into a garage. Its definitely kind of shitty but the person to blame would be whoever saw a guy on a bike in dark clothing and their first assumption was that he was a thief.

They said that to point out how irrelevant and unusual is question was, and that the cop shouldn't be upset, as it wasn't against the law. That biker was a clown. The officer didn't seem as angry as the annotations would lead a deaf person to believe, he added a 'white privilege' tag after telling the officer they were leaving. It looked to me like a campus police officer just keeping an eye on things, as he is supposed to do. I remember stopping at a college parking lot to make a call and had the campus police officer buzzing around me like a hawk because I was parked in the parking lot after hours. If ya ain't supposed to be there, don't pretend like you have any 'privilege'.

I never said empirical data is irrelevant. I did say, however, that your given empirical data is irrelevant to this particular issue of ensuring both the officer's and public's safety. The reason being is that it does not matter if there is an increase or decrease in violence against officers. There is a SUFFICIENT amount of violence against officers as well as a SUFFICIENT amount of interference with an officer's duties during a stop/investigation/inquiry/arrest to warrant having the most secure and least distracting scene. It isn't about all stops being 100% dangerous or 100% safe. That's a bit silly. It's about there being enough of a risk to warrant proper safety measures. There is no need to have a 3rd party on the scene that will result in the officer's constant monitoring. It's an unnecessary distraction. The cop didn't say "get out of my sight" he simply said to move further down the road where he would be safe and not distracted.
For the record, do you support law enforcement? How much do you support them? Have family members or friends in law enforcement? Member of the FOP?
Or do you protest law enforcement, think most are abusive or corrupt, and most people they pull over or arrest are probably the true victims?
@@Apokalupsis88 I suppose we differ over what we believe to be sufficient amount of violence against police officers. I believe strongly in the non-aggression principle, which means I believe the initiation of violence is only justified when done for protection. I would agree that 100% of either is unrealistic. I believe the 3rd party should be able to pull over, since the risk to an officer's safety is very low and the resulting confusion from the 2 parties trying to meet up through traffic is possibly even more dangerous than sticking together.
I do support law enforcement, but it comes with conditions as does everything. I don't want a world in anarchy, but I also don't want a socialist regime that murders its civilians. Police are responsible for determining which laws to enforce, which is part of the checks and balances system that makes america great. When someone is pulled over for driving over a speed limit, which is arbitrarily set, and the speed limit itself isn't voted on, then police forcibly take money (ticket) from someone who is using his/her property (vehicle) on their property (roads they payed for with taxes). Whats even more frustrating is that an old farm truck is permitted to go the same speed around a sharp turn as a high performance sports car. One is obviously able to go faster around the turn is an equally safe manner as the other going slowly. Laws like speed limits have no purpose other than to seize money from citizens. But if we are talking about domestic abuse, murder, theft, a hit and run, then police have a legitimate role in public safety. Too bad the supreme court ruled that the role of law enforcement is only to enforce laws, not for the protection of the public.
I am actually close friends with the son of my cities police chief. He is a very level-headed and smart guy, and though we don't agree on everything, if all police were like him I believe the whole of America would be better off.

Even if he didn’t he fit the first one so yes. There allowed to stop him.

A- Stop and try not to get in jail :D
B- Keep accelerating and never stop until they lose you.
A - Insurance rates skyrockets, hefty fine but you'll be completely safe unless you go to jail.

There is case law, and it’s for the physical disadvantage more than the psychological. If you’re going to fight a cop or run it takes you longer to get up from the sitting position. And by the way yes you do have to do what the officer tells you.

Im calling bullshit. Pretty unlikely that they told you anything on a cold call. They would ask why you are asking and you would tell them an officer is telling you that hes there because of a suspicious person call and they would tell you to do what he tells you to do. Not all 'calls' come through dispatch. Sometimes officers are on patrol, and get a complaint of suspicious activity from a man on the street. They might phrase this as a call. Its also really unlikely that an officer didnt bounce your head off the pavement when you started dialing. They really dont like it when you call back up. Officer safety and anonymity and all ya know. They will ask you once to put the phone away and then they will take you down. They arent gonna let you call on them if they are doing bad and if they arent they wont want you calling someone to come witness the proceedings.
They certainly wont just leave. They are trained to press and provoke and double down on their mistakes. They arent going to just walk away. Im calling bs on your story.

He said he responded to a suspicious drunk driver call, he followed me to my house and couldn't even tell me what kinda car I was driving until he walked up with his flash light and said " the dispatcher said a lowered bmw with slanted wheels " so I him, show me the call on his computer and he became aggravated and started cursing. I proceeded to tell him it's a illegal stop because I'm not drunk nor had I been drinking. He admitted I didn't smell like anything.
Held me out side my house for over an hour because i wouldn't give him my driver's license because i felt no need to identify my self in the stop and that's even his story changed to " someone at the gas station told me you were bragging about street racing " i told him i went to jack in the box and came home so make up for mind.
Once he finally left i called the non emergency number again and they said no calls were placed matching that story and I filed harassment on him. Haven't had an issue since.
