Because of the mess Elon made with API changes this can no longer be relied on to work. Sorry! If things calm down over at X I may revisit this but I’m pretty much done dealing with them.
Well it's been more than 2 days and Twitter still hasn't responded to my application, so I won't be adding those changes just yet :( Great video though.
@@BitGamey dang! i got in instantly when i was filming for this video, but that was before all these proposed API changes. on my real account it took several days to get the elevated access. hopefully they get it pushed through soon. I imagine the dev/api team is busy right now with the recent news.
I'm so glad I had this bookmarked. Today I got the dreaded email that my old Twitter application was suspended (due to the new API changes, not for anything nefarious) and I had to basically delete and start it all over. This came in clutch. Keep an eye out if you haven't already received the email. If it hasn't come already, it'll probably be happening shortly.
@@Phlare I just tested the generic TwitterSendTweet and it seems to have failed with an unknown error. I think we might actually be out of luck. The new Twitter API seems to only use the OAuth 2.0 and the extensions page explicitly says it won't work with 2.0. Everything on the Twitter backend looks good though. All info has remained fairly consistent. The landing page did update once or twice, though.
@@Phlare I'll probably tackle this in the morning with fresher eyes, too. Regenerate my keys just in case something went wonky there. Fingers crossed that its just a simple issue. At least it's working on your side, though! Far more useful there with someone actively streaming and not just playing with new toys like myself. 😆
I believe what is needed is to add a twitch -> get user info for target subaction and select the broadcaster as the target. Then you can use %game% And %targetChannelTitle% as variables
For the stream start action, would it be worth adding a bit of a delay (10 or 15 seconds) to make sure everything (game, title, etc) propagates into SB before sending out to discord/twitter or is that not necessary?
Hi, I followed every step of your tutorial but in my twitter account only the change of the name is working. It is not able to post a tweet. I disabled the image and banner change, so everything is working as expected unless the tweet post. There is no option to get elevated access to my project/app on the twitter developer site and I am not able to disable the oauth 2.0. I am using the free plan.
@3t3rnalgam3r possibly? I think sending a tweet should be possible but I never used that part anyway, I only used the name change and banner change, which very much does not work now (you have to reverify your account any time you change your name now)

Streamer bot community is awesome. Thanks for the video Phlare
I agree completely, I love the community that has built up around this bot.
Thank you so much. I had a hard time following the old video posted on the website. So glad you took your time to explain it. Works really well.
Glad it works! Thanks for watching

Everything still work? Seems like everytime I log into the dev portal something is different

My implementation seemed to be working last I checked but I’ll have to look into it

Good luck! Let me know if you find anything
FYI, it still works with the new free tier. Thanks for the video.
Yeah so far so good!
What do I have to do to get %currentTitle% working these days for the discord live msg?

Generally not necessary as these are usually already populated before stream starts.

Yeah, since Elon took over they continually break the API. This is no longer a reliable strategy unfortunately.
I’m hoping this will clear up soon, but I have no actual hope that it will.
Sorry I don’t have better news.
Is there any other option except streamer bot to send automated posts in twitter?@@Phlare
@@Phlare is it possible to set it up with oauth 2.0?

ty for the video
Thank you for the best streaming tool there is!
“This all possible with streamer bot” 😂😂
What's something else you would like to automate at stream start/end?
