Hi Donna, What a great experience. So glad these are being kept so well preserved and looked after. love the views from so high up and the sound of the train is so evocative. A great share thank you for taking us with you .
Cool street car tour. Did not look too busy either. Edmonton city is a lot bigger than I thought. Interesting how they have to switch the top cable for changing tracks and directions. Pretty cool. Awesome bridge and view of the streetcar passing too. Looked like a fun trip. Take care and have a wonderful day.
Thanks so much! I think our population is about 1 million or so, although from some of my usual videos one might think it's a small town, lol. It was a lot of fun seeing the streetcar. Hope you're having a good week.
This was a lovely tour Donna I loved riding this vintage street car with you and riding with Mike and Cliff...they certainly did give so much history as did you I was impressed! It reminds me of the Trolly we have in our local area that still runs through a small shopping area...thank you for the ride today, I enjoyed it!
Thank you so much, Donna! It's great that streetcars/trolleys have been preserved in various cities for people to experience and enjoy. Have a great day!
I'm so jealous i like stream train or old train that was amazing view round from @11:30 one train came in slowly on the old train track beautiful video Donna full view 17:48 hope you have a great week to come x
Beautiful old street cars! Interesting and fun to see one is from Australia and one from Japan! Really nice to have the commentary on the way out. The bridge is very impressive and the colors of the street car really stand out. Must have been a great way to get around town in the early days… and wonderful that they’ve been able to keep this one operational. If we get to visit Edmonton we’ll try to ride for sure and visit the museum. Thanks Donna! 😄👌👍👍🚃🚃
I used to take the tram here in Ottawa with my mother. That gives you an idea of how old I am. A lovely reminder of times past! Thanks Donna for sharing this trip.🤗💚🚋
This seems like such a fun and lovely trip to do. A street car drive. Gorgeous views and a great overview of the city. Enjoyable ride Donna and great experience. 😎🇳🇱🙋♀🥝
Hi Donna. I love the street car ride and listening to the conductor give a narrated tour. Interesting to learn about the one part being as high as Niagara Falls (yup I’m listening) lol…Thank you the the very nice scenic ride. 👍😊🇨🇦
I liked that point about the Niagara Falls, lol. There's been times where they turn on the sprinkler system that runs along the bridge and light it up. Probably nowhere near the same volume of water but it's neat to think it's the same height. The commentary really was great, especially how he went into more detail about how tough it was to travel from Calgary to Edmonton, and shocking how long a three hour drive used to take! Thanks so much.
Ah, you went back to see them in action, Donna! Wonderful - good to see these old street cars in action. First ride of the day is usually the best! I like filming earlier in the morning, whenever possible. You got some excellent captures there. It was great seeing inside the streetcar too. Great video! Take care, Paul
It really seemed like I had to go back as it seemed a shame to make it there but then have to head off to work before they even came out. I probably should have taken a second ride on the Osaka one, but oh well, maybe next time, and like you said, being later in the morning things were getting busy with more visitors. Thanks so much!
Enjoy the whole video, my dear. Love the man in the train keep talking all the time. Never been in this train before just a normal train last time. Very good sharing. You had a great time, I think.
Oh my goodness. So cool! Brilliant technology and engineering. That high level bridge and those views are fantastic across the city. They’re called trams over here but are different designs to this one. We travelled on the San Fran trams a few years back but again not like these although some of the trains look like this. Love the old photos too! A cool day out Donna. 👍👍👍
Thanks so much, Dave & Sue! It's funny how some things end up feeling so commonplace, like the High Level bridge with its views. It's also the highest bridge crossing for a streetcar/tramcar in the world. I love the nostalgia from riding the streetcar and hopefully I can visit Fort Edmonton and see some more streetcars.
Thanks for the great tram trip! It has completely changed now, but it was very similar in color and shape to the streetcars that used to run in the city next to my city, which made me feel very nostalgic. Thank you for the great video! 👍✨
That was great Donna. I wish they would bring back street cars and more trains. So many have not grown up with the sounds: ding ding, clang clang ;) but mostly that unique sound of riding on the rails (not to mention the benefit of less cars and a more peaceful way to enjoy traveling... ). Thanks for the ride with the interesting history and great views! Best regards, Cathy
Very cool! I've never ridden one 😊 And getting a full history lesson as you ride! The windows are amazing double pained. The whole vehicle is well made. Wish things were still built with pride and care like they used to. Love the noises it fills the air with!
Amazing!! I still remember as a kid riding the street cars here in Halifax!! Many a times you'd come to a complete stop and the driver would have to get out and reconnect the pole back on the over head wires! Some pretty good memories! Even while one of the downtown streets was being repaved extra work had to be done to remove the old rails as when it was first done the pavement was just put right over top! Hope you have yourself a great long weekend!
Awesome! We love streetcars too. We rode one that was returned to its original right of way in San Pedro, CA. Our friend was trying to save it, but it was the last day and I guess he didnt get enough signatures. But it had an original red car. Once Los Angeles had the biggest system in the world! But we tore them all out. Dumb idea. Now we are putting them back but less cute and more modern. You can see it in our videos. The coolest part was a little kid going "choo choo" the whole time. The kids loved it.
It's tragic when cities tear out and remove old features like that and then regret their actions. It's also sad that your friend wasn't able to get enough signatures to save it. Thanks so much for watching and the lovely comment!
Donna this was great and looked so good to ride in as it seemed very atmospheric. I would love that especially hearing all of the history with it too :) ~ Anna
Great trip Donna. I love anything Vintage 😊 Its interesting the difference between you guys and over here. Over there you call them Streetcars, over here they're called Trams 🙂💞
It is interesting hearing the differences. Even here the name varies, it seems like some of the U.S. cities also call them trams, or trolleys. Thanks so much for watching!
Fantastic tour. I love the look of the vintage street car and I like how they punch the paper ticket. In Philadelphia which is the city I live closest too, they have been restoring some of the older trolley cars and it's nice to see them on the streets back in use.
I enjoy how the conductors/motormen also wear the uniform, including having the punches for the ticket. I was glad I managed to catch it as the payment happened so quick after we sat down. It's lovely when cities maintain vintage things for people to enjoy and learn about history.
These vintage teams / street cars are fab (we have none in the UK apart from Blackpool ) all removed in the 60’s but in Europe they remain and are an asset 👍 with city travel ! Enjoyed this ride with you very interesting the team seemed so small going over that bridge 😮👌🏻 Best regards Simon 🤠
I have to agree the streetcars/trams are a wonderful addition to city transportation. The more modern versions are very nice as well, but I love the vintage look of these ones.
Hi Donna, What a great experience. So glad these are being kept so well preserved and looked after. love the views from so high up and the sound of the train is so evocative. A great share thank you for taking us with you .
It really is an impressive bridge and I am glad the streetcars are able to run along the top.

Such a wonderful tour 😊😊😊

It was great to see this old train from different viewpoints, and the interior is also beautiful 👍

Nice riding tour, it's a wonderful experience, so fun, my friend, thank for sharing🙏🙏👍👍
What a beautiful trolly train. So lovingly taken care of. The rail lines looked well maintained too. We just love anything about trains.
I'm so jealous i like stream train or old train that was amazing view round from @11:30 one train came in slowly on the old train track beautiful video Donna full view 17:48 hope you have a great week to come x
I love these old trains, it’s great to see 😊
Me too, thank you so much, Cara!

Hey Donna 😊 what a brilliant tour, the street car was very nice. Love the design of them. Great clip of it going over the bridge.
Thank you so much, Yasmin! It was fun to ride the streetcar again after so many years and I am glad they are still around.
What a beautifully preserved streetcar!!!
They really work hard to restore these streetcars.
Beautiful video; Donna
But then again, all of your videos are
MOST ENJOYABLE
Thank you so much Stephen! Very glad you enjoyed this one.
I used to take the tram here in Ottawa with my mother. That gives you an idea of how old I am. A lovely reminder of times past! Thanks Donna for sharing this trip.🤗💚🚋
Thank you so much, Arctic Warbler! It's great to see things like these saved for people to enjoy. Have a great holiday Monday and week.
I can imagine the fun experience riding the vintage streetcar.
It was a lot of fun! Thank you so much.
This seems like such a fun and lovely trip to do. A street car drive. Gorgeous views and a great overview of the city. Enjoyable ride Donna and great experience. 😎🇳🇱🙋♀🥝
Thank you so much, Anita! It really is a fun part of history and I am glad they are still around to be enjoyed.

The scenery seen from the train, which has a lovely retro atmosphere, is very beautiful.

This is amazing. I'm happy to see such a historic train. Thank you for the valuable information.
Glad you enjoyed it and I am glad it is still running.
One of those lesser known gems we have in this city.
One of those things that when you live here it just seems so commonplace.
Wow nice place thanks for sharing my friend great content

@@DonnaTaibossigai Yes, I liked the vintage look of their uniforms too.
Glad to see the old street car, train.
Excellent camera work Donna!!!
It’s great how you frame the streetcar proceeding carefully across that massive old bridge
One of the good things about having lived here for so long - you get to know where all the good angles are.
@@DonnaTaibossigai 😇🤩
Wonderful vídeo dear friend. Have a great weekend ❤😯🙋🏽♂️

Agreed!
I miss the ticket punch for boarding tickets. Very beautiful tram, similar to Hakodate's in color and shape. I enjoyed a wonderful ride.😀👍
Thank you so much, Ramujiro! I love the nostalgia that these streetcars have, and it's neat how the society has cars from around the world.
oh thats cool ride^^ for you that was nice experience ;)
Thanks for visiting
A vintage streetcar in Edmonton, Alberta. I watched it with great interest.
