I'm been trying so hard to have zombie nightmares like used to, there was a time when I was dreaming zombies almost every day, very faintly, very ominous but almost every day and I never was watching or doing anything that would make me think of f zombies, and now that I started playing this game Dying Light 2 and 1 in that order for months now and I REALLY want to at least dream something but I just can't, wtf?

You had two choices: Leave your cozy, creaking cabin you spent tireless retirement years to erect, or risk staying to defend your pride and joy.
Without saying a word, you grabbed your trusty Winchester and took a seat on your porch.
    You’ve been there ever since.
Muscles tensing. Sweat dripping. You count the seconds until your butt inevitably leaves the chair…

    Day 81.
I don't know how I've survived this long. Maybe it's pure brute force brought on by fear; my flight or fight response kicking in on steroids. Or maybe I'm just lucky and God wants to see how far I can make it before being torn to shreds. Either way, it doesn't matter. MB died two days ago. She was sitting outside the abandoned building we found when something snatched her. I hear strange sounds in the distance. Dull growls, sometimes a scream, can't tell if it's someone being eaten or someone eating someone else. Maybe it's MB. I don't know. Can't think straight. The crickets in the grass carry on, unbothered by the carnage. I don't have a lot of food and I doubt living in this broken place will yield anything of sustenance. I miss my family. There's a grocery store by the neighborhood down this hill where I cou - what was that? It looks like MB's silhouette. It could be her. Going to check. Be back soon. I hope.

The details are really cool! The changing directions of the wind pushing the trees and branches, altering their movements, either from a steady breezes and/or when the gusts arrive, the movements and sound mixing really stand out, as do the birds/bats; but what impressed me most was the slow emergence and appearance of, the increasing luminosity of each, and the overall increasing numbers of stars appearing as the night arrives were my favourite (amateur astronomer/100% Nerd) part; as well as the reflections on the pond’s surface. It’s a “small” detail, and like the stars, they might seems trivial, but these details were, well, really kick-arse and made this so much more intense and impactful on my end.
You PWNED the timing, but your eye and ear for details, as seen and heard through the combinations of both the natural and, erm, kinda/sorta natural, but ominous Alpha Foxtrot Sounds continues impressing. The varying degrees, types, and strengths of the roars coming from different directions, almost like a primitive communication call and response, adds to the overall atmospheric effects making this scene intense and calming. It is easy to imagine being the survivor, looking through the window, thinking, observing and hearing the Fear emanating from all directions, juxtaposed with the comforting and familiar natural sounds, natural and artificial Lights, a process which furthers the ambivalent feelings we can only imagine when facing this situation. The lights from the city, the last Nautical Twilight rays shining and reflecting off of windows and metallic structures, some lights fading, some flicker, darken, before returning, whilst others maintain a steady, reassuring glow. Are they automatic sensors? Are they people? The sublime thought-provoking mysteries and myriad “What If(s)” inject so much into this (same as those I’ve watched so far) scene, one could get lost dwelling on “this or that” and that’s what makes it so powerful.
I don’t know what the collection of buildings in the right foreground are (maybe a grain processing facility/mill, with silos, feeding belts, general purpose facilities, and possible dwellings near or on-property) but they seem to depend on the fading final rays of sunshine as means of light, creating that sense of heightened “What happened, why is that area dark vs the “city”. Are there other survivors camped inside? Are they conserving fuel, out of fuel, disconnected, or trying to remain low-key? The same applies to the one house, out of many, with a single room’s window lit with artificial light. Is it electric, a lantern, a torch (flashlight), a candle? Could it be a signal? Why are all of the other houses dark? Are they abandoned? Are people inside, maybe hiding in them (the other house(s)) and buildings? All manners of questions compound the aforementioned Fear and the finished product is quite lovely.
Just looked again, and the white-coloured house directly ahead at 12 o’clock (nearer to the observer vs the house/light mentioned above) might show artificial or muted lights, as well as the two spots farther away, almost a halfway point between our POV and the “grain structure”, as the ground/surrounding areas (I’m assuming the general topography, including and beyond our POV, to be flat, hence the farmhouses and land, but boasting natural rolling hills adding a keen eye and depth from this perspective. Maybe “our” window and house, likely on the highest floor (security and best view), rests on one of these hills. The location affords us such fantastic views and sounds! The contrasting aspects between the artificial city and fading Sun-Light(s) vs Darkness and the artificial (if that makes sense) darkness where light should appear, heightens the feelings of dread, uncertainty, and an inherent, unstoppable, and encroaching nighttime, evoking our “Old Brian” to default to and prepare for potentially encountering and dealing with our Primal Fears: The Dark and The Unknown. These lead to our abilities to understand and react via evolution and instincts for survival, the sounds and echoes from zombies and what-the-Hell-ever-else-I-don’t-want-to-meet growling outside, as well as our imaginations, cueing adrenaline release and responses.
However, the changing artificial lights could indicate that there are people inside, maybe doing the same thing: hiding and preparing for the long, lonely night ahead, using light as comfort (adding senses of warmth, safety, and Hope), possibly attempting to communicate or broadcasting: “Hey, there are people here, if you need shelter, come on over” vs “Hi there. I’m alone, and need a bit of assistance or maybe some reassurance that there are others out there”, or likely given this scenario, “Yo! We are here, and bloody terrified by the monsters out there/possibly ‘In Here'. Fancy tossing us a bit of help?”.
Of course, the Monsters assume the forms of the Unknown, and the Known, in this case, the Monsters are the Zombies/Zombie Hordes; but there are always the elements of Humans who are, for a lack of better words, proper dicks.
These are so awesome. I fell asleep to another one last night but this one really struck me, esp. the stars and reflections. Very well played and thank you so much for sharing and posting! Sorry about the long and boring Comms, but wanted to offer some details from my POV in case they might be of some help/use for your future projects and/or knowing where your strengths are, so you can enhance them or go for a dual-frontal engagement next time. Still, I could be totally off of the mark, but I hope this offers a wee bit of insight. If not mea culpa, but I still enjoy and appreciate the hard work you place in these. Cheers!

I remember when I first played this game with my friends, we were playing co-op and as soon as night time hit I was really frightened by the eerie vibe, there was truly no explaining the terror I felt. My friends played the game often and had powerful weapons and upgraded gear and etc and I was at default starter gear so I had to run for my life from the night zombies.
