I know this is an older video, but I thought of a drawback of this set up. What if your trailer battery goes dead? I guess this is a problem with all hydraulic tongue jacks. Not just your setup. But you cant get the truck loose to use it to jump/charge it. I guess you can pull the battery out of the truck. Or use another truck & jumper cables. Have you ever had that issue come up? I am just a worry wart I guess. Always looking for potential problems.
Haven't ran into that issue yet but it was on my mind when I was switching to a hydraulic jack. Figured I'd just use the battery out of the truck if needed
Sorry it took a little bit to find the info but here it is. baileyinternationalllc on ebay. The price at the time was $283 and after shipping and tax it was a grand total of $345.66. Not sure if they have anymore or if the price is still the same as I have not checked since I've purchased mine months ago
AS far as making money with your dump trailer , What is the most frequent type of service that your customers ask you to perform for them ? Can you haul a small tractor in your trailer ? , Thanks , joe
I do lots of gravel driveway work with it. I can haul my mini excavator with it. I can haul my 3000 series john deere tractor with the front loader and box blade on it. I actually have it loaded with scrap metal at the moment to get rid of tomorrow. I do haul a lot of gravel with it though
I'd like to rig something for my big tex gooseneck trailer someday. If you have a landscape rake, add that jack to it to make it easier to connect / disconnect it. Might work best with a swing up style, but I'm sure you could figure something out. And if you don't have a landscape rake, just know that that's the only tractor implement I ever bought brand new...and it was worth every bit of the $500 I paid for it!
That's quite lovely. Worth every penny. Thanks for sharing! Unrelated, my new 5500, identical to yours, pulls hard to the right and has some awful creaking sounds in the cab. Have you had any issues with yours?
Link for product?
Nice video. I may upgrade mine at some point, but it will cost a bit more as it has the 12,000 side crank jack.
Awesome addition to your trailer!👍👍
