, Imam Ibn Kathir (Allah have mercy on him) says: This verse is a fundamental evidence for the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamaah in establishing the punishment of the grave (Ibn Kathir, Tafsir al-Quran al-Adhim, 4/84).
Yet I say to you, the punishment of the grave is mentioned in the Quraan. I am only adding it as a bonus otherwise we would have believed even if it weren't. If one wants to understand these Aayaat in a manner different that the companions, then he is astray. “The Fire, they are exposed to it, morning and afternoon. And on the Day when the Hour will be established (it will be said to the angels): ‘Cause Fir‘awn’s (Pharaoh) people to enter the severest torment!’” [Ghaafir 40:46]

May Allah give you the best rewards in this life and of the life hereafter and protect you from the punishment of the grave, and from the punishment of hell-fire, and from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the trial of the false messiah.
Ma shaa Allah! wonderful and powerful reminder and booster to try to achieve the best and utmost benefit of this ramadan. Jazakhallah khair for sharing this with all of us. May Allah swt accept all your efforts and guide and forgive us all, Ameen.
Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaathuhu It is better to hear this duroos and other duroos about death and prepare for it, even if its "unpleasant" rather than listening to Satan's sermon in the hereafter.
@Velibor In an authentic hadith, the Messenger of Allah 'Azza wa Jal informs his Ummah, that they should "frequently remember the destroyer of pleasures (i.e. death)". Hence it is something we should never neglect nor ignore as it is close to each one of us.
AsSalam Alaykum Brother May Allah grant you jannah for your efforts. Just wanted to ask if the punishment of the grave is such a big matter why is not mentioned in the Quran Do not verses such as these indicate there is no punishment of the grave And the Horn will be blown and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten. They will say, O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?" This is what the Most Merciful had promised, and the messengers told the truth." (36:51/5)
Allaah Most High says: If you could but see how the wicked (do fare) in the flood of confusion at death and the angels stretch forth their hands (saying): Yield up your souls. This day shall you receive your reward, a punishment of shame (Surah al-Anam, 93). Ibn Hajar (Allah have mercy on him) quotes Tabrani narrating from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with him): This will occur at the time of death. And the meaning of stretching forth their hands is smiting their faces and backs
Wa Alaykum Assalaam, Our Deen is based on the Quraan and Sunnah and not the Quraan alone. It is not we who tell Allaah what to reveal in His Book and what to reveal through the tongue of His Messenger. There are hundreds of matters of the Deen which the Quraan did not elaborate on and we only got them from the Sunnah. The Dajjaal for example is not mentioned in the Quraan. Do we then deny the Messenger of Allaah? What we would do with the tens of Aayaat commanding us to obey the Messenger?
Salam alaykum ya abu mussab. Firstly I'd like to thankyou for your lectures and admire your striving to stay on the sunnah path. Walahi you have become one of the best speakers, I cant belive I only found out about you 6 months ago. Inshallah you continue to upload more regularly... Are you coming to the UK soon?
Assalamoalaikum AKhi in one of your lectures you have discussed about eating from those people whose wealth is haraam.can u provide the name of the lecture?
Brother I have a question. As we all know its Ramadan and its a fasting month, my friends and I would like to got to this carnival however, it isn't the best atmosphere since we live in the western countries. This carnival happens once a year and my friend is insisting on going do you have any ideas on wheather to go or not?
I live in the UK and have applied for a part time job at Big brand supermarkets like Walmart or Asda. They sell mostly halal things but also have alcohol and pork, firstly can i work there? and if yes can I touch and stock the shelves with these items and if i work at the checkout can i put them through?? Jazaakallahukheir
Asalam waliykum, If a non-muslim dies from an illness such as Cancer, in particular brain cancer or abdominal cancer are they permitted to jannah as if they were muslim? I heard (not sure authenticity) that a muslim who dies from a disease affecting the abdomen enters jannah and all sins forgiven. Just wondering if this is the same for non muslims too?
May Allah reward brother Wajdi. These are my classics
It becomes pleasant if it helps us better prepare for it.
