Maybe she wouldn't have wanted Cognito without him, but that's an emotional healing journey that wasn't going to happen on a time scale that would make Ron a long term goal. And you have to admit that what Ron wants is extreme; maybe he would have an extended family or even a few friends left over after blanking out the deep state from their minds, but she sure as hell wouldn't. Her mom is involved in the deep state. All of her friends are involved with the deep state. And his plan assumes that they'll just be allowed to leave, no caveats. Maybe he's even right about himself, but...would the Robes really see Reagan Riddley blank out her own memories of them and watch her leave...her brilliant mind fully unaware of their existence, and do nothing?

the depressing thing about the whole plan of "find a reality where we're happy" is that, unless i'm misunderstanding it, not finding the reality like that is *exactly what you want* because it means your current reality IS that reality, reagan should've been happy with ron but because she tried to find a reality where that happened she fucked up the reality where it was supposed to happen, same with her dad.
I think it’s the opposite tho . The reality that she searched is all depends on her choice, staying in cognito or run away with ron. You see they could be happy together if reagan choose to run away with ron as in the reality where they teach convicted fellow. But she want to stay in cognito because she have a chance to fix the world. I think it is more to work and life balance and clearly if they work in cognito they won’t be able to balance that.

Honestly this appeals to me a lot more then other break ups, that seems to be a theme in this years cartoons. We can’t make it work so we should go our separate ways but all of the reasons have always pissed me off. Steven universe and Inside Jobs reasons though were the fucking best reasons. I fucking love it so much.
My only complaint about this hook-up is that(in my opinion) it happened way too quickly. I would have liked it if the show went deeper into their rivalry before turning them into lovers.

If I were in his position, I’d want her to at least tell me about what she saw and her plan. Then, we could talk about it and figure something out, but Reagan, probably rightly, thought she couldn’t trust Ron to agree with her. If this show ever gets picked up, I hope we see Reagan recognize and work on this flaw. She’s gotten much better at letting other people into her life, but she still needs realize she doesn’t always need to interfere with their’s.
Another small bit of Foreshadowing would be stem cell steve being an incel could have led to a plot point that if reagan tried to abort it Steve would want what's left for a girlfriend which would convince reagan to have it.
