- This was our first vacation to Hotel Mojito (May 2022) in Cayo Coco, Cuba and our favourite vacation to the Caribbean. The staff at Mojito treated us like family from day one.

Wow so beautiful!
It's such a beautiful place. "Paula! We wish you were here!!"
Its heaven! Been there 7x great times. Thank you for your channel! Glad you all had a great time.
We have been to Cuba 11 times. Holguin, Cayo Coco, Camguey, Santa Maria. Cuban families work very hard for their land. Definitely unspoiled people! Love love love! We bring down medical supplies every year.
(Edited for grammar)
I love Cuba and have always found the Cuban people to be very friendly. I've been 3 times so far and have loved it every time. Thank you for watching.
@@markinthetrail this resort used to be called club mojito.
Do you have any recommendations for best areas and hotels to someone to travel Cuba 🇨🇺 1st time from Montreal.
@farhatagwaeten1870, The Blau Varadero is a stunning resort. Not to big with an incredible atrium. The pools were amazing too. The Mojito in Cayo Coco had the best A la Carte food I've had in Cuba. The chefs here are award winning, having come in #1 in Cuba in this year's competition. The staff at the Mojito are super friendly and genuine, making sure you have a great time. The Pullman Cayo Coco is a big resort but was wonderful. They had the best evening shows bar none. The daytime entertainment was superb and they put on an incredible Cuba Day. The Collection side offers some great perks including an A la Carte that you can eat all your meals in. There is a huge Quebec clientele at the Pullman, something like 80% I was told. Of course the beaches at all 3 resorts are stunning. Hope that helps.
My Favorite place in south till 2015
After just one visit, I can see why. It quickly became my favorite as well.
NIce video , thanks for sharing , I am planing my trip ro the end of November and Mojitos looks the best so far , the only thing I found no nice comment was about the buffet .
Thank you for watching! The Mojito is a lovely resort but in my opinion, the staff make it great. Very friendly and dedicated to making the vacation fun and enjoyable. In all honesty, the buffet did not have a lot of food choices but everything I ate there was tasty. The a la cartes, though, were the best I've had in Cuba.
Great memories guys...it was a pleasure to have met you both😎
A pleasure to meet all of you as well.
Beautiful video, beautiful people, beautiful resort ☀️
The people were so incredibly friendly and we made some great new friends. We loved the resort.
This is Michael! The big fella
Ah! Lol, I had no idea! Thanks, Michael!
Very Nice! ☆ Jesimiel Millar Fernandez
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Wow, I like the hotel that is perfect. how do you present thanks for sharing
It's a beautiful place. Thank you for watching. 😊
Great video . What camera did you use? I understand Cayo Coca has lots of mosquitoes?
Thank you. I use the DJI Osmo Action camera. Yeah, we were there last May. At the beginning of the week, the mosquitoes were ok, but by the end of the week, they were completely unbearable. Mosquito spray did not help. At the airport, the driver took too long to unload the bags, so people began opening the hatches and unloading the bags themselves because we were being attacked by mosquitoes. When boarding the plane, they would only let batches of people go to the plane and board before letting the next group go because we were attacked by mosquitoes as soon as we stepped outside. The resort did what it could, but the mosquitoes were still a problem.
Also the buffet was pretty mid also there were some good food but it wasn’t the best breakfast the only appetizing thing was an omelet. The lunch is pretty good id say it competes with dinner but sadly there is no a la cartes which I was expecting but I guess with the shortage of food and everything else ig it’s good but is it worth 4 grand for 4 people No I would rather go to another resort. The staff here tho is amazing really good and fun people. The beach is amazing to for the pools tho I wish there was a swim up bar for every pool but there’s only one for the main pool where people are at. If your looking for rooms with ac I would watch out because when I first got here out door was left a crack open and it was so humid it was just to hard to sleep I was to sweaty and sticky.
That's really too bad about the a la cartes as they really were the highlight of our vacation. The staff really are the best experience at Mojito. They are friendly and genuine. We made some good friends there.
Why is it so empty
@mkayyyo 2 reasons, we travelled off-season and I do a lot of filming early in the day when there isn’t many people.
It is a lonely place? not too many people. is anything to do beside being in hotel. Is there any local people? great video, thanks
Hi Ivan. Even with very few people it was a blast. We all got along and had a great time together. What made it even better was the staff, which treated us like family and really added to our fun. There are excursions you can take from the hotel into Morón and Ciego De Avila, and others. There is also a shopping area within a very short walk from the resort. I'll be putting out videos on both of these in the near future.
Not so sure if you will see this but how do you get the wifi and how far does it work like in your room our everywhere around the resort.
Hey there. At the time of my stay, we just asked the front desk for a code. The wifi was only available in the front lobby but worked fantastic. The code only gives a couple hours of wifi, but the front desk will happily give a new code. Wifi was free.
@@markinthetrail ahh okok thank you fro the respons!
I’m here rn as I’m typing this and honestly I give the resort 2 outta 5 the drinks here aren’t what we expected I was expecting pina coladas and margaritas but they only have vodka and rum which is still good but I was expecting sum tropics drinks. Now the food the food here is “ok” the snack bar u only have 3 options ham sandwich with fries burger or chicken sandwich but the chicken sandwich is just chicken cut up mixed with mayo on toasted bread.
Yeah, unfortunately, Cuba is really going through an incredible food shortage at the moment. Locals are struggling to find enough food to eat each day.
Nice video, did you see drugs in cuba or felt smell of cannabis in cuba streets and neighborhood?what was your perception on that topic or reality about that there?
Thank you, Felix. I have been to Cuba three times, in three different areas visiting 5 large cities including Havana. I can honestly say that not once was I offered, saw or smelled drugs.
When was this filmed? I expect things will get busier now as more restrictions are removed on travelers
This was May 2022. I think you are correct about it getting busier.
Hello 👋 can we do horseback riding at this resort? Thanks!
Hi Mary. At the moment there are no horseback riding excursions from Mojito.
Ok thank you, would you know which hotel I can find that? Thanks?
I don't know off hand which ones do but I did find this from Melia Cayo Coco. It appears they have it.

Thank you so much!
You're welcome.
Did you tip? Did you tip with Canadian money or Cuban pesos?
Hey there. Yes, we tipped with Canadian $. The Cuban peso is devalued, and they can only buy some basic necessities with it. They require foreign currency to buy most things. They can only use bills, so it may be a good idea to bring American $1 for drink tipping, etc. Their banks will not accept damaged bills, so try to bring new ones if possible.
@@markinthetrail I didn’t think the American dollar was good there?
@@markinthetrail we are going for two weeks. Anything else we should bring that they would appreciate?

We were there in May 2022.
@@markinthetrailinteresting, there didn't seem to be that many people there...of course, I guess there are no Russians vacation there ....I've been to cayo coco a couple of times (Melia Jardines, & Parisio)
Unfortunately, there was not very many people at all. Hopefully it will pick up soon.
@@markinthetrail Hi Mark. We have been going to Mojito since 2010. We have scheduled our 19th trip there for October/November this year for 3 weeks. There is no better staff anywhere. They are family.
Wow! 19 times. That's awesome and really speaks to the staff there. They are the friendliest, most genuine people I have ever met going down south. They really are like family.
