I love those games with universes that are so used to the otherworldly horrors to the point that they established rules and agencies that deal with them.
If someone isn't on the list but otherwise seems okay, you should call their apartment to check if they're actually out or not. This also applies if someone should be wearing a hat but isn't; sometimes they just forgot it at home and their roommate can confirm that.
@@seulgi_ningx2When you look at the folders for the floors, each room has an apartment phone number listed at the top. Just pick up the phone and dial the number.
Not sure what happened to my comment, but here it is again. The folders show apartment phone numbers for each apartment. To call them, just click the phone and dial the number.
Imagine the burden of living in this apartment building, not only you are afraid your neighbors/roommates are doppelgangers, but imagine you forgot your hat one day, or decide to not wear ponytails and just forget to update that info 😂
Might be cool if the legit people keep a receipt from a salon or from a plastic surgeon to show proof of why their appeaeance is changed (if its a big change like hair color or a scar disappearing) but they only present it if you question them on their appearance.
For the hat, Roman forgot his on one of my playthroughs and explained that he left it at home, and said I could call his wife to make sure. So I did, and she vouched for him and said he left it in the apartment. It checked out so I let him in and I survived that day.
Living in an apartment must be hell your life is constantly at risk, every 5 minutes theres a loud-ass siren going off, the entry protocol takes 30 minutes
That one guy that comes in to ask you the meaning of life ends up having like 30 different questions. You get an achievement if you get them all right, but it's pretty much required to google everything since one of the question even requires a cipher.
I only JUST started watching some videos for the game yesterday, so seeing the notification after I started was pretty funny. Manly just knows his audience too well I guess

Hey Manly, You remember the clown! I was wondering if you would. The time when you played Unlikely was unbelievable for me, and even knowing that this time for this game you were more likely for you to play it, it's still amazing to me, you are one of my favorite youtubers for so long, so it's a huge honor that you played my games.
Looks like your game is blowing up this time around, I've seen non-stop notifications for it from random channels on the sidebar over the last few days. Congrats!

Yeah, he's kinda rushing, not really paying close enough attention to the details, and not utilizing everything in the kit. It's one of those games where you have to slow down, go step-by-step, and use investigative skills.
Had a dream somewhat similair to this where I was hiding inside a shed, and I had a bunch of interconnected sheds. Some with people who I knew were real inside. Outside were occasionally real people trying to survive / people who were finding supplies and other times basically skinwalkers. The entire time I had to try to manage supply runs and try not to get other people killed inside other places, also locking out connected areas that have been destrroyed / taken by the skinwalkers. Weird dream, could probably make it into a game.
If you ever play this game again, each floor actually has its own phone number, so you can call it. Sometimes, the other person really isn't in the apartment. Other times, you'll find out they're already there, so even if everything looks legit, the person in front is an imposter.

a tip for this game: basically, every document on the floors basically you can call the sister/wife/husband whatever they are, if they say they aren’t in the hotel it’s because they are real, if it isn’t real they are gonna say they are in the hotel,
@@creeperizak8971That’s not really proven by the expiration date, though. The game takes place in 1955, so the ID isn’t expired. It’s more likely that a doppelganger is just forging their documents anyways.

Agree that I would have wanted more weird scary doppelgangers, but I liked the subtle differences too. The random quiz portion was a little odd. You were right about the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy answer, MBH. I think the quiz, if it has even more obscure questions, makes more sense and is more fun for streamers getting info from their live audiences than for people just playing by themselves tho. Obviously derivative of Papers, Please but in a good, fun way.

*It's unbelievable that he didn't once called the apartment number at all* I mean every time he looks in a folder each one has it's own phone number you can call and not once was that utilize especially with the very detailed Doppelgangers
Man, i near on 100% the game yesterday (outside of playthrough and doppelganger-death achievements) My rule of thumb with those not on the list is calling their room (even if they live alone), if they are on the list you do not need to call because theyre not supposed to be home yet. And if you get another of the same person, you call, and if they answer youre good. If theres no answer well... then the previous was a liar.
ManlyBadassHero the badass doorman! Also, remember to call the apartment number, even if the appearance is perfect. Some doppelgangers have perfect disguises.
One thing that Manly may or may not be able to notice is you can call the apt phone number by checking out the file. You can double confirm if the person who is not on the list might already be in the apartment.

The guys who watch the videos and leave time stamps when people ask what time things happen are truly the hero's of going above and beyond what anyone else does.
You are our hero
*Manly:* I do my job very well.
Said after he forgot to close the door, letting a stranger in without checking their id.
Okay but Manly letting in that doppleganger in so bored and *THEN* checking the list, for the quick, paniced realization to settle upon him, just as the door closes, before getting killed two seonds later, just- MUAH! Cinematic!
There's a nightmare mode... But you definitely need to learn how to call the residents before proceeding them in
I love those games with universes that are so used to the otherworldly horrors to the point that they established rules and agencies that deal with them.
If someone isn't on the list but otherwise seems okay, you should call their apartment to check if they're actually out or not. This also applies if someone should be wearing a hat but isn't; sometimes they just forgot it at home and their roommate can confirm that.
that’s actually a pretty cool mechanic!
The confidence it take to explain that lumpy of a head with "I slept badly last night" is crazy
"Fuck"
-last words of a doppleganger
Me waiting to see when Manly realizes he can call the rooms.
If he replays the game, maybe he’ll figure it out.
(He doesn’t)
how can you do that? plz explain
A nice twist on Papers Please.
The process for calling in the DDD is a bit tedious though, considering how often you have to use it.
AND the sirens going off every 5 minutes
Yea
For the hat, Roman forgot his on one of my playthroughs and explained that he left it at home, and said I could call his wife to make sure. So I did, and she vouched for him and said he left it in the apartment. It checked out so I let him in and I survived that day.
Living in an apartment must be hell your life is constantly at risk, every 5 minutes theres a loud-ass siren going off, the entry protocol takes 30 minutes
why did they make the milkman so attractive… feeling like a true 1950s housewife right now
real as hell

That one guy that comes in to ask you the meaning of life ends up having like 30 different questions. You get an achievement if you get them all right, but it's pretty much required to google everything since one of the question even requires a cipher.
What is he a reference to? Kinda looks like The Truth from GTA San Andreas.

The way, not even an hour ago, I was like “man I feel like watching Not My Neighbor. I hope Manly has played it!”
Yeah, I've been waiting for his playthrough too. I've been like watching everybody's
I only JUST started watching some videos for the game yesterday, so seeing the notification after I started was pretty funny. Manly just knows his audience too well I guess
Why were you like ‘Man’ though? Are you gay? Do you typically think of MEN before making your statement? You could have just thought “I hope he plays this game” but you instead thought “MAN I hope he plays this”. Mate, you’re a homosexual.
Saaame
I love how everyone's first moment of gameplay with this game is: forget to close the door
I don't know how the whole milkman thing started...but...I absolutely agree with them now that I've watched this video
Did anyone else notice Dr. W. Afton? Thought that was pretty sneaky from the devs.
36:05 Dr.W Afton, WILLIAM AFTON. Five nights at Williams?!?!🗣
Was looking for someone to point this out lol

@@potionseller9 if by "emergency" you mean the slaughtering of tiny children, then yes, that's quite the emergency.
Wait, this is your game!
Looks like your game is blowing up this time around, I've seen non-stop notifications for it from random channels on the sidebar over the last few days. Congrats!
Crazy lie for sure. You have zero content on yt 😅
I really hope he sees this, That’s Not my Neighbor is the first of your games I’ve seen but I’m in love
dude ur games r fantastic, attention well deserved !!
*has phone and apartment phone number*
*never calls apartment to see if the person not on the list is already home*
*can't figure out how perfect doppelgangers are getting in*
Yeah, he's kinda rushing, not really paying close enough attention to the details, and not utilizing everything in the kit. It's one of those games where you have to slow down, go step-by-step, and use investigative skills.
The game doesn't do a great job at explaining the phone mechanic. I have seen 3 RUclipsrs completely miss it.
@@coolspider295 I noticed a phone that can be dialed and phone numbers on the folders. I guess I come from the era of "click everything" games

@@Jectsubi😧
The pain of watching him let people born in the future (or however you would explain that)
Those are expiration dates. The game literally had a warning about that
Had a dream somewhat similair to this where I was hiding inside a shed, and I had a bunch of interconnected sheds. Weird dream, could probably make it into a game.
honestly by the sound of that description you absolutely should consider it. Some of the best stuff starts out from strange dreams
That does sounds like a good Game
I’d play it if u made it into a game tbh
That sounds like an excellent game. Shades of A Dark Room, which is an all-time fave of mine despite being text only.
Toby Fox dreamed about the ending of a game and look where he is now.
You should probably try and make that, it sounds cool
Wow you got the rarest anomaly! Getting the clown is incredibly rare.
Not really, I got him in the first few rounds.
I got him on the first attempt wdym 😭
@allen you could get something on your first try, that doesn't mean it isn't rare automatically.
Cant get the clown if you never play the game _😎_
@@Gandhi_Physique Well, did you get him?
ooh yeah this game is inspired by that creepy pasta where whole city is been slowly been changed to doppleganger, its a nice series on yt
If you ever play this game again, each floor actually has its own phone number, so you can call it. Sometimes, the other person really isn't in the apartment. Other times, you'll find out they're already there, so even if everything looks legit, the person in front is an imposter.
Audio cut out for me from 2:20 - 2:53 was very confused why the music stopped lol
Glad I’m not the only one 😅
ditto! legit thought my earbuds stopped working (that would be my 2nd set broken this month)😂
The second twin doppelganger had a swollen head, I've seen a few youtubers nearly let her in, it's so subtle 😅
it's subtle if you're a blind idiot
Any other horror RUclipsrs who played this that you’d recommend? I wanna see someone play nightmare mode, but some gaming RUclipsrs are obnoxious af
@@erisvile9443agree. A lot of RUclipsrs don't mesh well with my preferences. They aren't necessarily bad RUclipsrs but I find quite a few annoying to me personally
Wait till you got tricked because the doppelganger is using the twin's number.
@@erisvile9443I just watched Diedevdie play nightmare mode and I didn’t think he was obnoxious. It was the first video of his I watched tho so take my recommendation with a grain of salt
Reminds me of papers please. You gotta be real thorough to find even the slightest discrepancies. I’m curious to see what the deeper story is in the full release
it's inspired off of papers, please probably :D
in papers please, u can check two things to see if its correct or there is someting wrong
so this is kinda harder
a tip for this game: basically, every document on the floors basically you can call the sister/wife/husband whatever they are, if they say they aren’t in the hotel it’s because they are real, if it isn’t real they are gonna say they are in the hotel,
hope this helped
i was really hoping we get to see Francis covered in "scarlet milk"
I love how many he misses due to extremely specific things, like 30:22 having the wrong year on their ID.
well, it is an expiration date so ID still valid
@@Yazawa-Nico the doppelganger could have picked up a discarded ID.
@@creeperizak8971That’s not really proven by the expiration date, though. The game takes place in 1955, so the ID isn’t expired. It’s more likely that a doppelganger is just forging their documents anyways.
@@Yazawa-Nico Ah, fair enough, I'm a dickhead.
I wish he clicked on the extra details though. He let 3 dopplegangers in the first try and I want to know who they were and what he missed XD

i saw this game randomly in my recommendations and was like "fuck, manlybadasshero would the perfect guy to play this game." the sheer elation i felt when i saw this in my notifs is indescribable
i just noticed that every apartment got its own phone number so i wonder what happens if you call, maybe that could help you catch more doppelgängers
Yeah, a shame the phone was underutilized in this video
@@ak_nora There was also the fact he kept messing up IDs because he never bothered with ones that were expired and just marked them as okay, since it's 02/1955 in game, yet some IDs are 1950...

Imagine standing at a window in your building and some guy looks you over and says something like that. And you're actually who you say you are. I'm thinking some very bored, tired, disaffected customer service type who couldn't care less about you or your need to get home.
This was hilarious - I liked the art and the humor. Obviously derivative of Papers, Please but in a good, fun way.
the "make a phone call to the apartment" is really the "issuing city is wrong" of this game
I’m sorry we have Francis Moses and W Afton??? In a world where fnaf and R.E.D. Exist simultaneously
The "be like Henry but better" gives me shivers
10:11 the expiration date on those IDs are 14 years out xD for people worried about security that sure is a long time
Oh I've played this game so many times. Always seems to have some doppel you have never seen before despite 20 playthroughs.
Oh, off to a flying start.😅 Open the door for Gloria, and... Fail to realize that it doesn't automatically close and lock itself. The "Oh, crap" was the perfect cherry on top for that one.
I was staring at the buttoms the whole time, thinking "He's, gonna lock it, right? He's... Okay, he's got a second becore she... Oh, crap, indeed."😆

I laughed way too hard at this
Your input about refusing to let all the Neighbors in is part of the reason why I needed to see you play this game.
*It's unbelievable that he didn't once called the apartment number at all*
I mean every time he looks in a folder each one has it's own phone number you can call and not once was that utilize especially with the very detailed Doppelgangers
TBF, I can easily see it blending in with all the other information onscreen.
Dr W Afton with an emergency at work you say? 36:06
Last time he had an accident at work, he was sealed in a hidden room for years.
Actually he spring-locked a child at work
Wonder if it's a problem with certain "robots"
Man, i near on 100% the game yesterday (outside of playthrough and doppelganger-death achievements)
My rule of thumb with those not on the list is calling their room (even if they live alone), if they are on the list you do not need to call because theyre not supposed to be home yet.
And if you get another of the same person, you call, and if they answer youre good. If theres no answer well... then the previous was a liar.
milkman a baddie

When I first heard of this game I thought "Manly's definitely played this already, right?"

ManlyBadassHero the badass doorman! Also, remember to call the apartment number, even if the appearance is perfect. Some doppelgangers have perfect disguises.
the obvious dopplegangers: yeah idk it's just my hair man. so what
the one Elenois doppelganger: the list? FINE YOU GOT ME
One thing that Manly may or may not be able to notice is you can call the apt phone number by checking out the file. You can double confirm if the person who is not on the list might already be in the apartment.
