Victoria, the 120 minutes work from the time the park opens. Many are confused and believe that it is from 7:00, but no, it is from the opening hours of the park that day.
Yay! So excited for you to be back. I totally cried along with you! The 120 minute rule starts at park opening. Then from there it can go by when you booked your last one. But it doesn’t start at 7am, it starts whenever that park opens. And/or you can book another one after you tap into the second touchpoint. You have to do both of them if the ride has two.
You will be able to book another Lightning Lane selection after using the first or after the window expires, 2 hours after park open, or 2 hours after booking a selection. You may also cancel Lightning Lane selections you made with Genie+ if you change your mind and select another
I don’t know anything about the time needed to book another lightning lane, but I do know that you have to completely tap into the ride before you can book another ride. If there are two tap entry points (usually at the entrance and another closer to the loading area) you have to tap both of them before you can book another lightning lane.

I cried along with you. :) But you held it together really well! I got to go to opening day at Disneyland on April 30th, after they were closed for over a year. I literally bawled walking up Main Street USA. It didn't help that the street was lined with CMs, Disney Execs, and film crews all cheering and saying "Welcome Home"! I just lost it. I know it's been even longer since you've been home, but I can really relate to what you felt in that moment and I'm just so happy for you! I haven't been to WDW since 2015 (a divorce and a move across the country put a damper on my WDW trips). But I'll be going again in January/February and I know I'll be crying a lot then too. Anyway, just really happy for you and I can't wait to watch all of your park vlogs again :)

Just to let u all know, its after youve tapped onto ur ride / 120 mins after your last genie+ booking or 120 minutes after park opening, whichever is later... (so essentially in morning its 120 mins after park opening).
I used Genie + yesterday and used it alongside standby and managed to do 17 rides as well as having quite a bit of sit down time and going to Grand Floridian. It was a heavingly busy Saturday so it was definitely worthwhile but I found it really annoying to keep looking at my phone all day.
That was such a lovely moment when you walked into the park. Thanks for not editing that out. I actually said to my wife “ah, bless her.” In a non patronising way of course, lol.

What an amazing first day in MK. I def think the genie plus seems worth it. We will def be trying it when we eventually get back. The drinks you had looked so yummy, as did the pizza for dinner. I’m commenting toward the beginning of watching the vlog so you might have figured this out (but wanted to mention for others). The park wasn’t officially open to all guests when you were trying to get that 2nd lightening lane.

Like someone mentioned before, you can book another LL after you tap into that attraction at the second scan it. Also, you can book another LL while holding one but as long as your holding another, they have to be 2 hours apart. So I booked a slinky dog at 7pm in the morning. When I got in the park I could book another as long as of wasn’t after 5pm. After I use the new one, we booked 2nd., I can continue to book them as long as they are before 5. This does not go against the individually paid LL. So when we got into HS, I actually had 4 attractions booked on Genie+. My two paid ones, my slinky dog at 7 and the one I booked when I got in the park. Hope that helps

I hope you figured out pretty early on in your trip that it's only after tapping your band into the second touch point that you can book another lightening lane. Also, I do believe Disney has now stopped people from being able to stack lightening lanes, but it was always better to book your 1st lightening lane for much later in the day, that way after park open and then the 120 minute rule, you could begin to stack lightening lanes.
The LL countdown starts from when park opens IF your first ride is over 2 hours out. I.e. 7am - Book Haunted mansion for 12pm 9am - Park opens - because HM is over 2 hrs away, you can book another (so say Space Mountain) for 2pm 12pm - ride HM (don't get a renewal of LL as you still have one - this has changed from ages ago when you could hold 2 at once). 2pm - Ride SM and book another ride. IMO - I'd say it was worth it if you were desperate to go on a specific ride, but it is an expensive price for a whole family when you may (if unlucky) not get all the rides you want.
Great video Victoria and so helpful seeing it through a Brit's perspective as we're from the UK and heading over there for the first time in June as a family of 5 😊. The whole Genie plus and L L has been causing me no end of anxiety but hopefully by next June I'll have the hang of it. Best wishes to you and looking forward to seeing your next video 🙂
I'm sure others have answered by now but to clear things up on Genie+ - you can book another attraction after you've *double* tapped into a ride. You hadn't reached the second tap point (where you merge into the standby line) when you checked in the HM queue. There's a few exceptions that only have a single tap but for the most part, you have to wait until you're past the merge point. And the 120 minute rule applies from park open rather than 7am. So I'm guessing it opened at 8 which is why you couldn't book anything until 10. Now to catch up on your vlogs as I was flying to Orlando myself when this one was released! :-)
I was there in September and the security person who checked my bag said if you keep your umbrella in your bag you'll always be bag checked so just take it out before you go through the scanner.
