Kristine, now the mums coming out of me, you need to buy some more warm clothes otherwise your going to get sick - warm inside, cold out, a recipe for colds and coughs. The train ride was stunning, makes me want to go to Alaska even more (mind you I despise the cold) but I will grin and bear it to go there. Look forward to more Alaska blogs 😊

That’s awesome that you already did the Juneau hike! If you really have a more time and want to get a good workout in, you can hike from the left side of town and bypass the tram all the way up past the waterfall. I’m assuming later in the summer, you will get some warmer days and some beautiful wildflowers up there! Enjoy!
Thanks for the tip! I’m definitely hoping to go on hikes once the weather warms up a bit more! Sadly we’ve had quite a bit of rainy Juneau days as well!
Glad you had fun! I love cold weather and want to visit Alaska one day. I also want to visit the mountains in Colorado because they have mountain lions, and I think mountain lions are cool. They make a screaming noise which is really unique.

We were on Ovation to Alaska last week, got to meet some of the dancers at the zoom desk. The shows were amazing you are all so talented!!!! Had a wonderful week!
We were on Ovation 5 years ago to Alaska and did the train ride then and it was amazing!!!
In Skagway try a dough boy they are delicious sold next to Glacial coffee house. In Victoria try a beaver tail, also very delicious.

Another Juneau recommendation is to hike to the Mendenhall glacier. You can get a round trip bus ride for about $10 from downtown Juneau and get in an easy two mile hike to see it. Just bring that warm Alaska jacket as in May and June it’s still cold. You can also take a plane or helicopter but that’s a lot more than $10! 😃

We used to sail to, and stop at a tiny place called Icy Passage/Strait? (for whale watching trips)and I think there was a pizza place that sold fish pizza...!

Brr it looks cold there I am from Florida and as pretty as it looks i really dont have any desire to visit lol I will just watch your videos. I am a beach and warm weather person but its is really neat that with your job you get to see so many places and I love the book stores
I did the train in July and it was amazing. I wish we could have gone with it snowing. That looked magical.

Love it. Seen both of those ports and did the train ride too. Are you going to Juneau by chance? If so, take the tram to the top and plan for a one to two hour hike passed a waterfall and the snow level. Amazing views. 👍👍
Yes we do go to Juneau!! I did that mini hike last week, just because I only got to the waterfall before we had to turnaround to get back onboard. Hopefully I can hike all the way up one of these days when the weather is nice!

I've never been on a cruise. Always preferred to fly to a destination and soak it in for a few days or longer. After seeing your Alaska bit, I'm actually going to give a cruise there a shot! (did you get some mittens?)
Unfortunately my package of mittens got delivered to the wrong place 😢 Hopefully I can get them next week!!

Another fun video. Your movie of the White Pass Railroad is better than mine ... more happy people in it. I must recommend exploring the 'Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel' in Sitka. I believe it was built when Sitka was still the capital of Russian America. The artifacts and art inside (like The Sitka Madonna) are unlike anything else and add to a truly unique day in Alaska. First time in Juneau? Weather permitting, you can ride the tram to the top of Mt. Roberts. Careful, Eve might see a real bear up there.
I will definitely stop in the cathedral in Sitka! We’ve been waiting for a great weather day to go up the tram in Juneau! I did it years ago but would love to do it again with Eve!

Sadly that was the only time we went to Ketchikan!
