Les Hanois Lighthouse, Guernsey

A video of Les Hanois Lighthouse which is situated almost two miles off the south west corner of Guernsey in the Channel Islands.
It has a helipad on top and there is an older concrete helipad built on the rocks near the base of the lighthouse. There are other facts added on the video.

I was a lighthouse keeper for 27 years and served 14 years on the Hanois and loved it.

Hi Dave, Yes I remember our contacts, I was 169AT106. I enjoyed talking to contacts in Canada. Rob 9AT101 was also one of my many Canadian contacts. Great to hear from you again.

i was told that a german officer was jailed here by the germans,and was forgot about when the channel islands were liberated.He burned every bit of wood on the lighthouse ripped out doors'.frames etc..live on some shell food he could find on the rocks but died there and his ghost remains there,

This is not really correct, a German soldier was sent to the Hanois as a punishment and while out there with other soldiers shot himself in the Service room. I spent 14 years there as a keeper and never saw any ghosts :-)

Looks great, does a donkey connected to a light walk around the lighthouse all the time to keep the light turning?
