For those wondering if you should get it based off enjoyment, I'd say while it is different from many games, it is a nice way to unwind after a long day if you dont feel like doing much or playing something competitive. It is everything you'd expect from a game called house flipper, and if you are creative/enjoying designing things, you might find yourself getting lost in it for hours. Definitely worth checking out
I didn't expect you to review this. I'm pleasantly surprised! I've been quite excited about House Flipper 2; I loved the first one. It's unfortunate that the performance isn't great, but I'll probably get it tomorrow anyway and hope for a performance patch soon. Thanks Karak!
Same for me although I might get it a bit later, not tomorrow. The main thing that interests me with this one is the sandbox mode for building whatever I want. Being limited to exterior walls always frustrated me with the first HF.
The first one was such a good game when you came out of a busy period and had forgotten what games were. That right amount of noodle game design that you can just pick it up do one house and move on or just have it as a continual cosy loop without the DLC nonsense of the Sims.
A lot of the cleaning sims never caught my eye but hearing you talk about it on the podcast and seeing it in action has got me curious, I like to clean and add stuff in real life but being able to do it without the high risks and rewards seems neat. Just wish I could switch out my cleaning and construction stuff just as easy as in a game. Finding the broom, going out to get more of cleaner A and so forth sucks but still adds to accomplishment
Will there be an update on this channel if the games performance gets improved? Bad performance is absolutely a dealbreaker for me, otherwise I might've considered buying this game
part 1 was better in order to put bath u needed to place pipes first now is all for I pad kids full of colors to keep ur eyes hurt and dopamine rush on maximum
If I wife caught me playing this, she would be furious. We have always have house chores that need to be done, and I don't think she'd be cool me with me doing those in a video game but not in real life. At least with Car Mechanic Simulator she's okay with, she doesn't want me taking apart the car. Maybe real life needs achievements so reward me for house chores and I'd be more inclined to get to them quicker.
Thank you for a very nice and clear review. Was hung up on whether to buy it on release, hearing about the rough performance is definitely a wait-a-bit-longer sign for me. I hate it when my games aren't buttery smooth. Guess I'll keep my eye on it cause this is the kind of relax, casual game I enjoy now and then.
I think it's time for these type of games to think about going VR hybrid as standard. As a lover of these kind of games, to me it seems the only natural progression for the genre.
I'll admit, the first game is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me... something to relax with when I'm not running around killing things. ...will definitely pick it up when it hits PS5.
So i played the demo and some stuff from the original was missing and I hope that was just a demo = simple not a completely removed thing? I can't wait to play but let's see how it goes
Might pick this one up later, nice review and footage. This is going on the wishlist, I’m gonna try to finish all the dlc for the first one before I tackle this one
I was slightly confused when you suggest 'wait for a sale' the game is already budget priced for what you get. I thought it was decently priced for the time that I have put into beating the main campaign. Now I am working on flippin all the extra houses. Cheers on a great review though and covering this game that is fun for very weird reasons. I also made up some silly narratives from time to time. One house had a bunch of red splatter all over the kitchen and dining room. My daughter and I were playing and I said something like "this is where the murder happened" and sure enough we found a knife on the counter under some trash pizza boxes. Good times.
Why do people assume that just because the have a high end pc that every game is going to run at max fps and look like a masterpiece? I know you feel the need to defend your investment, but your placing blame solely on the games when it could just be a bottleneck in your system. And again, not every game is designed for power pcs.i have the best of the best components as well but I'm never to quick to blame issues on the game till I diagnose first.
I was like that on my old laptop. I got this Acer Nitro 5 in March with a 3050 ti and the difference is amazing. The performance gripe isn't too big of a deal for me as long as it's smooth enough. I don't expect every game to play at 100+ FPS 24/7..
I saw HF1 on gamepass and thought who would play that. I downloaded it one night cause we had the night off work, and I, of course, couldn't find anything to play in my big collection, so I tried something different. I spent the whole night playing and have had as much fun as I have playing cod all night lol. Looking forward to playing this one as well
I watched the 3 hour stream by the developers and even THEY were having problems trying to get the Mod houses to download properly and crashing kept happening, but they just blamed it all on doing it live? What the hell does that mean? They made the game... fix it, dont laugh about it not working, which is all they did. I was not impressed, to say the least. I agree with this reviewer, I would wait until they fix optimization and such. Its got issues it shouldn't have at this juncture.
Hi , i just bought the game today . I used to play house flipper 1 on my ps4 alot because i want to be a house renovator in real life too and if u have the same goal as i just a little bit different other than selling properties i would say buy the game on discount as House Flipper 2 on my series s is a huge huge improvement to House Flipper 1 . Its just not about cleaning and painting now even that has gone up and creative . Making Houses in House flipper i never imagined that . In my opinion if u are just a regular guy looking for simulator i would say not to buy it right now and wait for discount but if u are interested in House Flipping / renovating etc i would say buy the game or if budget issues buy it later on discount as it is a huge deal for me . Hey maybe u might have different opinions with the game i was just sharing mine Have a Great Day ❤
I got a cracked versions with all dlc recently bc I’m not paying for this and it runs smooth now Ik it’s been 11momths since this video but I get over 200fps playing in ultra in this game
I like this _style_ of game, but the ones that require you to be creative in the process are less appealing. Power Wash Simulator let me enjoy the typically mundane laborious task of cleaning without much thought, so I sort of shut off my brain in the process. When I have to make things look nice, I get too involved with the process.
I put more hours into HF1 then any other game on my steam list but I always used it as a design/build sandbox and never enjoyed the cleaning and fixing so the fact they went with more stylized graphics and more busy work over more freedom with building is gonna have me skipping this one. That being said the first one still looks fantastic and with all the post launch content pretty much already has everything I wanted in the first game. Really disappointing to hear about the performance issues as they stated that's the reason they went away from the realistic graphics.
Love your reviews but where's the review of the biggest "MMO" goty The Day Before? The game was so good that it shut down days after the server opened! lol
Im sure there is a strong audience for house flupping but how about you give up some of your massive clout to some other indy titles that aren't already a decent amount of folks radars.
@ACGreviews For example, Colony Ship just dropped, which is make or break for Iron Tower studio the guys who made the cult classic age of decadence. Blood West is a horror fps that does some very interesting things. These titles warrant some attention considering the quality and boundaries they are exploring. House flipper 2 just doesn't really ring the same kind of tune that those other two titles do. There's so much more out there, and I hope you at least consider jumping further down the indy hole.

Hope they make Asmongold’s house as dlc

Literally my first thought hearing about this game
I hope Asmongold gets banned for being a loser
Omg
$2 pizzas and Dr. Pepper everywhere
Man, I cannot justify cleaning in this game while my room looks like crap loool. Great review as always Karak, praise the sun.
You and me both!
The first one was one of my fave cozy games, so I'm excited to dive into this one. It's a fun title to unwind and relax
The only way people can own houses now.
That's true

@whereta3097 - house flipping, properties, excitement?
Blackrock and Vanguard corporations have entered the chat... ;)

I don't know what I'm surprised more about;
Someone making a game about flipping houses,
It getting a sequel,
or ACG reviewing the sequel.
I spent so many hours on the first one. Looking forward to playing this, thank for the review😊😊😊
No problem!
how can you reach high places? Like the second story of the house. I couldn't find ladders or scaffolding.
I’m sorry did he say “moosknucklecumberbunter” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ooo a story mode! Solid add. I think I may get it just for that. I know itll likely feel the same but I like the sense of progression a story gives.
Totally! Its sort of fun to just mess around in it and follow the story.

Not only are your reviews great but the variety and amount of games you cover is excellent. Fantastic review as always, keep up the great work.
Much appreciated!
Its bothersome this isn't coming out until March on console. 😢
Im pretty sure putting tile over wall paper isnt going to work out well in the long run
„Mooseknuckle cumberbunter“ 😂
Going to get it, the performance thing I am curious how bad it is. Though lets be honest the first version did not have the best performance either..
great, now i want a Mooseknucklekumberbunter shelf
Id be far more interested in it if the act of cleaning and moving and building was more physics based.
My biggest question that I ask myself is how can I have fun cleaning houses in house flipper meanwhile my room looks like the local landfill
Sadly this is the closest a lot of people will get to the housing market these days
Might pick this one up later, nice review and footage. This is going on the wishlist, I’m gonna try to finish all the dlc for the first one before I tackle this one

Are you still going to do a rogue trader review?
This version is less visually realistic than the first. A no-go for me.

there's an undo button right? i remember the devs saying there was like a month ago
There is A LOT that's not in the game from the first. It's kind of sad.
Was hoping for you to cover the Ready or Not 1.0 release
This looks awesome. I enjoyed the first one so much and I expect to have as much fun with this new entry ^^
I hope so too!
Is this a full release copy?

Anyone experienced this on the steam deck? Does it work well with controllers?
What's with games these days coming out with shitty performance?
