I had Russian language courses in college many, many years ago, long before laptops existed. My teacher stressed learning cursive, and all work had to be written that way. To this day, even though my proficiency in Russian waned over the years, i still to this day remember the proper way to write in Russian. In fact, my Russian cursive is a lot better than my English cursive.
I don't even know english cursive, I just feel Russian cursive is easier.
Russian cursive is so fluid, and there's a lot less dotting i's and crossing t's, just the occasional ё, й, and optional lines for ш and т
I'm over here telling Daria through my phone that I can see myself using лишили more often than expected. 😂😢
I am new to learning Russian and am learning strictly by Pinterest, the Russian Reader app and videos on RUclips. Russian cursive far exceeds English cursive in my opinion.
Thank you for this video, Daria! ❤
This is so different to English cursive - I feel like I'm learning to write all over again 😂😂
This was great, really helped me out! Thanks!!
letters holding their hands 🤍 that's so cute! спасибо! i love writing in cursive in all languages so i have to learn Russian cursive.
It was very good and useful...i have never seen such a great teaching for russian handwriting, now after wathing this vidio and practice even for 1 hour, i can write just like russians... it is amazing... thanks alot
Paolo Caredda
Perfect follow-up. Thanks!!
The tips on letter combinations / connections were helpful - thanks RRC!
i love the “mhmm” 😂❤️
Very good explanation! Thank you! :)
Great video on a topic that's not addressed to often. I learned this previously when I took a Russian language course at the local university. This is a very good tutorial and actually quite easy to learn and use with a little practice. Thanks.
I allready like it. Even when the show didn't start yet :P
thank you XD
Thanks so much! I do a lot of handwriting as part of how I think so being able to clarify the joinings in Russian cursive is huge for me! Got my sub!
thank you:)
this and the last lesson have been very helpful thank you
You are a great teacher of all aspects.
jalal bahonar спасибо
Nobody:
Cursive и: You are too weak.
Cursive м: I'm you.
Spot on ! ..This is just what I need. Not much vid available that talk about this topic ( how to write the Cyrillic letter like you did ) ... Good topic.
You're correct. Not much video on this topic. Thank goodness I already knew all of this; having learned it when I took a Russian language course at the university last year. But this is a great refresher course.
Thanks my good teacher daria
I needed this tutorial so so so much. Thanks for your precious help and your good work.
I’ll keep watching and learning from your videos. 💐💐💐
Sara Sara Thank you very much!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!
This is for me, for sure!
I’ll keep training my MUSCLES with you)))
Yulia JPN haha cool😂
We need more of this Dasha, even with random words, to train connecting letters. Very very few videos on that topic :)
You are the best Russian language teacher on RUclips.
🙂
Eureka Eureka
Thank you for sharing )
Thank you
Thanks! This is day 2 of writing in Russian. It is difficult but beautiful.
Very useful video, thanks
Thank you so much~
Thank you🙏🌹🙋♀️
Letters holding their hands!!!! ha ha ha ....
Reza Moghaddasi back to the kindergarten 😄
Russian With Max
Russian With Max
Russian with Max & Dary очен хорошо 💗💗. . thank you so much . I LOVE YOU 💗 Sattar from Egypt
excellent
Just to share my learning method: to write the words 'или', 'семь', 'доллар' 10 to 20 times then I started to getting the feel of 'holding hands'.
nice
It's crazy, though, to see a teacher actually telling the students to keep connections low for certain combinations. I see some handwriting, where people love making this connections to л, м so high that the connections interfere with the word.
Ok, in English, the trail on o is higher than a. But in Russian, both connections are low. Is the only way to distinguish is to lift the pen to make a notch in the upper right portion?
We need more more. Pleas.
mohammed abo baker althini more of what?
I'm gonna cry
Is that the rule to underline letter ш or is that up to the individual? Thank you, Daria for your videos
It's optional. You may use underline, if you like it. I think maybe one of 10-20 russian people use it
A very good video, thank you! Do you have any material in russian handwriteen to practice the reading?
I learned through this three volume series:
Russian Handwriting: Propisi
by Natasha Alexandrova
I practiced on a whiteboard until I felt comfortable with the basic strokes, then made flashcards of vocabulary I knew as to quickly recognize words in their “fancy” form.
I have dyslexia, so cursive Russian writing is particularly challenging. 😝 But I am determined to master it! 💪🏼❤️
Wonderful class, thank you so much,e need ten class like this, with many exercises..., but the letters are to small in the video
Russian script has different variations. It varies to the teacher. You can be creative on your own but the the key is for it to be understood. I'm used to write in script in Roman Alphabet so some of the Russians are familiar
The letters м and и looks very similar! How to writhe them correctly and make them not misunderstood?
I know, you showed it, but it remain rellay hard to me (((
м and я have a small bump on the bottom left like л, which is absent in и and ч.
7:43 Thank you for empathizing this. You call them Connections, but my professor calls them "Breaks". I was having trouble with breaks with Лл и Мм, but my Professor is way too busy to help me with them. Particularly with "Мама" I was told writing "Мама" I have to write is as this: М(break)а(break)м(break)а. Also поломка; In cursive I was told to: по(Break)л(Break)омка. But from your video if you were write to поломка, you'd write: по(break)ломка, no?
Please, why do you make a small line over the T (m)? thanks a lot.
I was hoping you would give a tutorial on ж I still don't know how to combine it with other letters
from the las line like c
How to connecting O with L?
to continue from O, can it be from top / middle / bottom?
Start from bottom
Why do you sometimes put the line above the small T and other times you don't?
It's kinda easier if you already know how to write in French cursive
what is the us of cursive letter or advantage ?
Writing speed.
Russian cursive had been known to create an entire Lieutenant in the Army, a veritable Kijé, as it were.
is it necessary to write this way .. can we just write the letters seperated ?
M Meme it’s not necessary😄
you may need it if you get a recipe from a doctor in a Russian hospital or a note from your russian boyfriend on your refrigerator)
Ediv Koze most doctors don’t write by hand anymore:) they type on computer and print the paper😄
in my town they still write by hand
Beautiful write to you. I am not good write .
When will come cases video
prashant kumar maybe next week, I lost my voice
👍🙏💓
The fact that there are no political commentaries in the comment section tells me I'm in the right crowd.
In one of your podcasts: "What was good and bad in The USSR?" You mentioned the fact that in today's Russia, your politicians earn lots of money. In the mean time, there are lots of people, who can barely feed themselves or can barely make a living. Hopefully the good people left in Russia will put and end to that nightmare soon.
It is doubtful. The Russian nation was cursed in the year 1560, when the boyary poisoned the Tsarina Anastasia Romanova and basically destroyed her husband, turned him into an infamous tyrant for more than twenty years, years that the Russian nation is unlikely to ever truly recover from.
OK. So Latin cursive is 100% superior to this since all letters look different from one another.
As someone with dyslexia, this is a little more complicated. Lol
Thank you for the video. Very helpful. But you not using a pencil was very disturbing to me. Don't ask me why. LOL
Lucie Vec I never use pencils 😄
Real Russian Club OK. Thank you for the video
Preevet !
Tell me one thing ,,, why are you so so so sweet 😘😘😘😘
I think I have a thing for Russian women.
Same.
