We discuss auditioning for sitcoms and how the part she didn’t really want was the one that made her a star. The creative behind the hit sitcom Will and Grace changed the plot from the original pitch, thankfully. Megan shares about her decades long marriage to the hilarious actor Nick Offerman, including their age difference and childless joy. I got the alert just as I was trying to go to bed and I thought UGG do I stay up because this is gonna be amazing or do I get sleep and get up in the morning and have a cup of coffee and smile all day? It’s the morning, so obviously I chose the latter. Cannot wait just in the intro now and so excited.

I LOVE Megan!! The word iconic is overused, but it totally applies to her with how she crafted "Karen" and made her one of the best sit-com characters of all time.
Back when she had her own talk show, she had Merv Griffin on as a guest, and she sang a duet with him, and I remember being blown away by how stunning her voice was.
Thank God its Megan and not that ridículos Devra Mesing who went from wokest of the woke, anti-Trump, open borders pro-life, pro-BLM pro me2 to a fanatic supporter of the ultra right wing Israeli government and their genocidal intentions

Heather is so right on the childless thing! I always thought it was sad if people didn’t have kids. After I had kids I realized how tough it was and if you don’t want kids it is best not to have them. You need to want them to get through those tough times!!! Best to know yourself and do what is best for you.
Yes. I was like Heather…wanted a baby since I was 3 yrs.old, so I would have never been happy without one. I thoroughly enjoyed them when they were young even though I became single when my youngest was 6mos old. I had to go to work and never got any child support, so it was very hard money wise. Then when they were teenagers it was awful! It ruined my health permanently. I have one granddaughter that says she doesn’t want children and I support her.
I never wanted kids until I ended up pregnant at 35 years old. Now for me it's the best thing. I would have probably been perfectly happy to never have children but faced with the situation I knew I wanted to keep her. So my point is that you can't always plan for everything and it's okay to embrace something if it happens even if you didn't think you wanted it and it's also okay to not

This was my all time favourite back in the day & still is. That and The Nanny. I still watch it now 20+ plus years later. Will & Grace was cut too short 😕 Disappointing to have to wait 20 years later to see these beautiful characters come to life again on screen! Karen was a favourite of mine, I’ve even used “Anastacia Beaverhausen” in awkard moments 😆 Thank you Megan Mullaly for Karen Walker 🙏😘

Totally relate to Megan saying she did not have an organic burning desire to have children. There are a lot of people are ok with children when they are under 5 but didnt think about life beyond that. Also they had kids so they coukdbe loved. So manyno so great motivations for having children. We need a license for a dog but anyone can have children 😂

Loved this so much. Heather you always ask questions that make me want to find the answers for!!! "Soap" was actually the working title for the show, while the producers tried to come up with a better name, and was used all through pre-production. No better name was ever decided upon, so "Soap" became the formal title when the show went into production. Source: IMDB. What a great show. Loved your story about your son and you worrying he was dead....I don't have kids but I jump to that conclusion too about friends and loved ones like my nieces.

SOAP was EVERYTHING
I have the whole series on DVD! Reminds me of my childhood. It was called soap because it was supposed to be like a play on soap operas

The show SOAP was a spoof of a soap opera, thats where the name came from. Billy cyrstal was Jody and it was a groundbreaking role.
