Steve had the voice of a proper English Gentleman. He spoke very respectfully, and his replies to questions were always so informative. Everything Steve says shows how intense his love for music was, I love how he places so much emphasis on how songs were created, including the composing that went into the making of each song.
Yes. Every response to a question in an interview showed how intelligent he was, but yet he also had a bit of light-heartedness to him because he added a bit of humor here and there. Only further goes to show how tragic his loss was.

Steve will forever hold a spot in my heart as I was only 13 years when I first heard him play. He was so inspirational and moved me in a way that no other guitarist could. That was over 42 years ago, and things still haven't changed . ❤️ Forever White Lightning ❤️

Well not so say that their later stuff is bad. Because they have some really great songs from later years, but yes there has been sort of a decline in quality ever since about Retro Active. Like, there's less creativity in the guitar parts and the songs just feel a bit on the dry side.

I love to hear his voice! I'm still grieving the loss of Steve Clark....he was such a beautiful soul. A under appreciated talent....he was the driving force of Def Leppard, they never were the same since he left ....far too soon! His stage presence was breathtaking! I still am 😢....heartbroken he's gone......i only wish I could tell him how loved he was....by so many!!! I pray all the time for his soul to be at peace....and that he is among the Angel's. I still remember the day he left 😭 .....i've never gotten over it...that he left this world in such pain is heart breaking! I can't imagine how all his band members have felt. They still miss him. I am forever grateful to them for their unwavering love and recognition of his contributions. I know it has never been the same without him!!! But I give them such admiration for going on!!! Will forever be a Def Leppard fan!! Will forever remember Steve Clark.....he was so very special !!!
Thank you SO very much. This genius was extremely shy and interviews with Steve are rare. Steve sadly hid so much pain, a large part of that pain was the pressure he felt personally in topping 'Hysteria'. His loss remains simply incalculable and Leppard have never been the same. Yet they tour off his legacy.

Such a wonderful interview. Beautiful voice and such a polite and sweet man. What a waste of life of such a beautiful soul. I wish he could have got the help he needed. Just think of the wonderful music he could have made. I feel he was the brain of the band. Missed and loved forever😪🌹
There's only so much you can do. Part of the problem was that he wasn't really willing to get better. He just didn't have the will to live. It's really sad
@@Eva-cy6kc , agreed. Those closest to him (namely his bandmates and Lorelei) tried SO many times to get him help. But an alcoholic/addict has to WANT to get better, for himself, not for others. It's just so sad he couldn't have loved himself as much as those around him did, not to mention his fans. RIP Steve.
@@bellroad100 my mom died at 32 & for the same reason Steve did- alcohol (any addiction really) is so horrific and complicated- there's so much pain within the person and they become physically sick & then unable to exsist without the alcohol- which is just as horrible. If one can stop the painful cycle of drinking and live life somewhat "normally" it's a true miracle- I've managed to so far, one day at a time.❤ Erin you are So correct btw the person must WANT to stop drinking get better💯 I always wondered why I wasn't enough for my mother to want to stop drinking- she tried but she was too mentally & physically ill. I hope she & Steve are hanging out in heaven!!❤😇🙏

That’s why this disease is so tragic…the person who suffers from it has to hit rock bottom, then WANT to get better and seek help. If they can’t do that, then there is just nothing anyone can do. It’s heartbreaking. Again, I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom to cancer 3 years ago, and it’s been a pain like no other. 💔
He has that nice Sheffield accent that just sounds pleasant. It's not too harsh and it's nice and quiet. I could listen to him talk all day. Lol if only Livestreams were a thing back then. But I'm sure he wouldn't do one anyway.

Interesting that he said Love and Affection might have been a single. It has always been my favorite non-single on Hysteria, so I guess that proves I have good taste! I think Gods of War has become the most popular non-single from Hysteria across the overall Leppard fanbase, though.

However, i do agree with most fans about Gods Of War being the best non single off that album just simply because of the interesting guitar parts and the politics behind it. I was honestly thinking the same thing. It doesn't make sense how they just cut out most of the questions. It may be because since this was originally on a CD, each separate track has one subject, but the problem with that is you can't really tell when the tracks change. So, how would we know when to look at the title? So, it would've been more helpful and less confusing to leave in the interviewer asking the questions. But the main point is the information given in this audio. However, it does take a couple of listens to understand what Steve is saying or talking about.
The combination of Steve and Phil was the sound of Def Leppard! Vivian Campbell is a great guitarist, but the loss of Steve, and his creativity, his sound, is noticeably missing in Def Leppard's albums since......so sad!
