Def Leppard MTV 1988 Rockumemtary (Both parts)
Просмотров 14 тыс.3 года назад
There are other copies of this interview, but one is in two parts, so i saved you a click or so. (You're welcome :)) Also, all the other copies have a weird audio thing around the early years section where it starts playing the Leppard Bites audio instead of the real audio. Apparently that's just a thing that MTV did from what I heard. If you read all the way down to this point, thank you. Subs...

My ranking is pretty close to be honest! Nice one
He is the most sweetest and wonderful person. Very caring and shy side. Love his interviews and how he responds. R.I.P. Sweetheart 😢😭😍😘❤❤
❤on through the night....raw under produced core rockin def lep.....i still favor the high and dry rawness with that garage sound🎉...... ive been and seen this band at every corner in their career.....his styled melody writing is way missed😢......Def never really had that explosive sound❤i miss Steve.....ive been picking guitars to this guys LPS.....white lightning 🌩 great awesomeness tribute wrote by Phil....😮 vodka sad story song....very well done! 😊 rip steve Clark 🙏
Makes me sad to hear him talk about the new record they were working on, and knowing he wouldn't live to see it released. Could listen to his voice for hours.
@@joancurrie6748 honestly me too
His cool voice and short laugh is really missed
I also love his accent, from Yorkshire, but he sounds slightly London, or even slightly Australian.
Really good video, thanks for uploading.
Great to hear his voice, a very intelligent guy. He's very thoughtful an amazing guy. The way he talks you'd never guess he had any problems. Love 💕💕💕💕 an miss you Steve 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 Clark ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
If Def Leppard were still as they were back then, the guys, particularly Steve and Pete might’ve even left the band in later years
Thank you for posting ❤ def leppard still touring in 2024👍👌
4:18 "Love Bites" The ONLY #1 song that made #1. He composed the whole song by himself, yet doesn't brag about it.❤
Came back to this after two years.I got the chills. It’s like he’s right there.
@zachryanband5241 I feel the same way. He's one of the only musicians that have passed away, that when I hear interviews it's like he's still here, alive.😢
Steve has such a great voice,he replies so well. One of the greatest guitarists. THANKYOU for posting this
You're welcome dear!
The combination of Steve and Phil was the sound of Def Leppard! Vivian Campbell is a great guitarist, but the loss of Steve, and his creativity, his sound, is noticeably missing in Def Leppard's albums since......so sad!
Def leppard come along way and done amazingly well impressed by your music never had MTV back in the day ! 😢luv your songs and truly loved by your fans !! Your dreams have come true with great success that Amazing!! I'm now a fan great sons you guys are very talented musicians definitely!! 🌺⭐🎶🥰
You guys ROCK...Thank You !!
Joes betrayel, gives all of him an idea what happens when you signed old mans paperwork (the demon is me and i turned you down after your good life given through it) Specific ones reincarnted into a bad life not a rockstars life
I some workds Vivian refuse to join the band and didn't show up
Everyone go watch eddie snd the cruisers, right now 😘 youll love it... Guy playing eddie is an alien 👽
Really good interview. Problem is you have to guess a lot sbout what hes talking about, what songs etc. Pity the interviewer wasnt left in the interview.
Ohh they were so young I was in middle school when I heard them it because of my mom she brought the movie home and the rest was history I fall in love with rock music mom thanks and u rest in heaven ❤❤❤
Yes a lovely voice.❤
Wow slang is high that's a first
It's a really underrated album. It deserves more attention imo
It was so Awesome seeing them in Concert in 1980.. Great Show.. Phil’s melodic back up and lead playing.. is wonderful.👍
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thanks for the 💙 1 in return..👍too the most talented band that ever walked the stage..
Wow 2 15 second ads for this lmao
Oh damn 😭

He was such a shy guy unless in a one on one interview or on stage. Brilliant song writer and guitarist.
Nice to see someone who likes slang!
Yes! It's so underrated! I don't care for the title track, but the rest is just great!
@@Eva-cy6kc I find that the title track is cool and different and I like it. The rest is amazing I agree
So much respect for the guys. One of the greatest bands of all time.
I always love that part where Steve quips at Phil 'and he never left'
Imagine if the likes of GnR had this level of professionalism. This isn't about ego, this is about giving the audience, the fans, the best show they can see. The Stones do the same thing, bring it all to the people who love them. I can say I was never a strong fan of the band until the Rick Alan accident at which time they got behind their friend and made it work. I became a fan. And now this display of craftsmanship! I get to say I was in the same time frame as the likes of The Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd, The Eagles...and Def Leppard.
specially for Axl, which he had the fame of showing off 2 or 3 hrs late stuff like stopping the show sometimes for no reason at all, or leaving the stage if some guy had a camera in the audience, like the St Louis incident in 91, or the Montreal incident when he was singing awful and he just quit while they were touring with Metallica.
@@tab6496axl think of himself an A list celebrity,or he's just another 'bleeding artist' case , he should've join Nirvana.
xx ✌xx lol 🙃 true fact! i was told to hush by someone while the concert was going on....he must have worked for the band some how because he said "be quiet we are recording" .....lol 🙃 can you imagine .....me either but its true.....xx ♦🌟😇
xx ✌xx i never met steve but seen him live once back in 1983....but i know he is my magical angel who lives in heaven above.....xx hugs ♦🌟😇🌞🌻
xx ✌xx hiya hugs....thanx for sharing....xx ♦🌟😇 p.s don't say anything to anyone but....joe x59x is my bumblebee 🐝🐝
Great to hear this, what a talent and such a sad loss, considering Steve was born and brought up in Hillsborough, Sheffield he really doesn't have a hint of a Yorkshire accent, he really sounds like a southerner.
Steve will forever hold a spot in my heart as I was only 13 years when I first heard him play. He was so inspirational and moved me in a way that no other guitarist could. That was over 42 years ago, and things still haven't changed . ❤️ Forever White Lightning ❤️
Interesting that he said Love and Affection might have been a single. It has always been my favorite non-single on Hysteria, so I guess that proves I have good taste! I think Gods of War has become the most popular non-single from Hysteria across the overall Leppard fanbase, though.
Honestly, Love and Affection would have been a great single. No buts. It is a highly underrated track off of Hysteria, along with Excitable. However, i do agree with most fans about Gods Of War being the best non single off that album just simply because of the interesting guitar parts and the politics behind it. But yea, Love and Affection was definitely single material.
i feel like if Love and Affection was released first instead of Women, then maybe Women wouldn’t have tanked and made the start of Hysteria’s rise rough
I love to hear his voice! I'm still grieving the loss of Steve Clark....he was such a beautiful soul. A under appreciated talent....he was the driving force of Def Leppard, they never were the same since he left ....far too soon! His stage presence was breathtaking! I still am 😢....heartbroken he's gone......i only wish I could tell him how loved he was....by so many!!! I pray all the time for his soul to be at peace....and that he is among the Angel's. I still remember the day he left 😭 .....i've never gotten over it...that he left this world in such pain is heart breaking! I can't imagine how all his band members have felt. They still miss him. I am forever grateful to them for their unwavering love and recognition of his contributions. I know it has never been the same without him!!! But I give them such admiration for going on!!! Will forever be a Def Leppard fan!! Will forever remember Steve Clark.....he was so very special !!!
DEF LEPPARD ARE VERY GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME TOO AND I AM GLAD THAT I GOT TO MEET DEF LEPPARD TOO AND THEIR TOUR MANGER TOO
Saw them in Vancouver, trying out their new guitarist from Ireland. Playing an SG for the most part. Very good if not the best. Hi from Chiang Rai Thailand. Bless you.
The Best Band, Def Leppard!
Indeed 🤘🏻
Only good with Steve
I remember seeing Leppard at the Monsters of Rock Donington, which was Rick Allen's first gig after his accident. When he was intorduced, the entire place just went into meltdown and Rick was overcome with emotion for several minutes. It took a minute for the band to compose themselves...Whether you were a Leppard fan or not, it was a wonderful moment and the entire crowd of some 100,000+ were right with them for the entire show...So much love at that gig. Im so glad I lived through this era, which in my view, was the greatest era for rock and metal. It was so exciting.
These dudes were apart of my childhood and teenager days 70s @80s
And 4 decades later, they’re still together and filling arenas. Says a LOT for their love for one another and the music. 🇬🇧❤️🎸
You know it! 🤘🏻
Have a great time .All the time .Joe Elliot is cute
Joe is more than cute, he’s gorgeous! This appeared on MTV on my 25th birthday
Oh my goodness I love it!
Ever since his passing in January of 1991, that band hasn’t been the same when it came to producing good songs. Gone but never forgotten. RIP Steve Clark. We love and miss you ❤️😢
Thank you SO very much. This genius was extremely shy and interviews with Steve are rare. Steve sadly hid so much pain, a large part of that pain was the pressure he felt personally in topping 'Hysteria'. His loss remains simply incalculable and Leppard have never been the same. Yet they tour off his legacy.
You're welcome! :)
A bit harsh!
@@bootsconnell719 a bit harsh but true . What albums stand up to ones he wrote , still do hysteria tour to this day
Def leppard at the peak of their powers.🤟
Absolutely. I feel bad that i wasn't alive during that period
@@Eva-cy6kc yeah, I hear you bro. I was eight years old when my auntie bought me Hysteria album for Christmas 88. I'd loved them since I saw them perform animal on top of the pops 87. Wish I could've caught their 80s prime in my teenage years. Luckily I did get to see them at don valley stadium in 93 for the adrenalize tour. I'm from the same city as the band and so my older cousin's took me to def leppards homecoming. Really wish I could've been at that in the round gig though. That's my favourite of theirs. Where they shot the vid for sugar. 👍
@@TheRetroManRandySavage Same i wish I was around during the Hysteria tour. It would've been cool to see the band with Steve. (not that there's anything wrong with Vivian bc there is not) But I can't complain too much bc i still will get to see Def Leppard and there are other cool bands now that didn't exist then. As for you, it is still cool that you were around when Hysteria was released. That is a cool experience seeing a band you really like achieve worldwide fame.
@@Eva-cy6kc I hope they tour the uk next year. Would be nice if motley crue came over too. I know vince has lost his voice now, but the rest of the band is still tight. And yeah, I'd have loved to see steve Clarke play. That guy is so underappreciated when it comes to the greatest guitarists of all time lists. That man could shred with the best of them. And his riffs are what made def leppard so great. RIP. 🙏🏻
@@TheRetroManRandySavage , it’s funny because I was lucky enough to see them for both Hysteria in-the-round AND Pyromania tours, but I’d give anything to have been there at the Don Valley show! 🇬🇧❤️🎸
