    Small cap funds in my portfolio have given me 41% XIRR returns in last 5 years which is way higher than nifty index fund or any active large cap funds

    My exposure to small cap was 10% of my portfolio, last month I cut 70% of it.

    Sir, watching your videos since a long time and now planning to shift my allocation but confused on one point, if we go with this blend of N50:NN50 and i believe with this blend we can get around 12-13% return (correct me if i am wrong) with low expense ratio cost and without the fund manager risk. also, you do not have to worry about the fund performance which is really a good hassle-free idea. On the other end I am thinking that lets suppose a small/ mid cap fund is giving only 21% return and not beating its benchmark of 28% for example. what is the concern here? at least you will be getting more return compared to this N50:NN50 blend. can we choose a small/ mid cap in this case and do the rebalancing periodically when there is a rally in mid or small cap segment and move our profits to N50 index? can you please suggest on this approach?

    Hello Sir. Recently discovered your channel. Your work is quite indepth. Bought the index screener and loved it. Today, came across a video of a well respected gentleman and he showed how a 50:50 combination of "Nifty 200 momentum 30 Index" + "Nifty 500 Value 50 Index" beat all the nifty indices by a significant margin. Would love to know your thoughts on this. Thank you.

      Past performance is not indicative of future performance. Yes value + momentum is not a bad idea but it may not work all the time. Nothing works all the time.

    1)Great video sir , for a passive investor it's no brainer choosing nifty 50 + nifty next 50 ,i was expecting you will also cover nifty 100 equal weight index
    2) in general if a person is choosing active funds path it's always better to go with Diversified funds like Flexicap , Large&midcap or Multicap instead of pure midcap or smallcap fund ... as diversified funds can manage downside better during bear market is main reason for not choosing active mid & smallcap funds

      Equal -weight funds are pointless. See prev videos.

    Pattu Sir, I did a 7-year rolling returns comparison of SBI smallcap, Midcap 150 TRI, Next 50 TRI and Smallcap 250 TRI, from 1-Jan-2020 until present. I found that SBI Smallcap sisgnificantly outperforms Next 50 TRI by 10%, and the Midcap 150 TRI by almost 3%. Is this not a very good case to invest in a well known small cap active fund with a long decent track record? Funds like SBI or Nippon Smallcap? Or am I missing a point here?

      @@pattufreefincal Yes, future performance is never certain - no plan should be based on higher return assumptions in the future. If at all, smallcaps can be a certain portion of the diversified allocation.

    Hi Pattu Sir, Great video! I am new to Mutual Fund investing. I am planning for investing in Mutual funds for next 10-15 Years. Having portfolio with only one Aggressive Hybrid fund works for this ? or Do I need to have multiple Index and Cap funds ?

    Sir Are index fund returns also affected by higher AUM? In the current year, the UTI Nifty 50 index fund's AUM is around 12092 crores, but if it grows to 30000 crores in the next 10 years, will its performance also be affected in comparison with other nifty 50 index fund with less aum

    I have 11 lakhs and want to invest in mutual funds for atleast next 25 to 30 years. Should i invest all the money in nifty 50 index fund or to invest in pure small cap fund.

    I think you should also include the margin by which they are not able to beat nifty midcap. (And the margin by which the funds are beating nifty midcap)

    Pattu sir. Please make video/article on whether one can continue investing in N50 without NN50 for the retirement goal which is atleast 15 years away from now as some of investors might be uncomfortable with the way NN50 is going. Would be helpful. Thanks 🙏

    • @pattufreefincal
      @pattufreefincal  Год назад +1

      Yes, why not! But what will you do if N50 also stars going down?

      Sir. Even I thought about the same. N50 might also go down anytime. Nobody can predict the future. As I have learnt from your past videos, we should do portfolio rebalancing and de-risking from time to time and not leaving SIP to luck. This holds true no matter what funds we hold as part of our equity exposure.
      But just wanted to understand is this FOMO of not including NN50 natural?
