My life changed too when I started doing this and putting money in stocks. The first few years it as really great, but this year I haven't felt like my portfolio is doing well. I have lost more than $40,000 from my portfolio the past four months, and it's now very worrisome.
The year has been really rough for everybody. But I've been able to cushion the effect though. Have you thought of using an investment advisor? They can make you good money especially during uncertain times like this.
Yes, I agree. I use a financial advisor too. Same person since 2020. I don't worry about whether the economy is going up or down or sideways. I always ride through.

I’m your ET Money genius member and in my portfolio there is small cap index fund. Small caps should actually give boost to the portfolio but here across timeframe, it is not performing well then why genius recommends it?
Hello, that's a great question, Vijay. If you are a Genius member for long, you would know that Genius allocations are dependent on multiple market factors like Valuations, Price Trends, Inflation and Interest Rates. Due to these the allocation is never static for in any specific market cap index fund. The dynamic adjustments to allocations actually help entering and exiting in such way that the limitations of staying invested at all times in small cap index are overcome and add to overall returns. You would have seen this since April/May 2023 till now where allocation to mid or small cap has been at elevated levels and that had added to outperformance despite lower equity allocations. Moreover, the allocation to small cap wasn't as high for entire 2022. Genius prioritizes asset allocation and dynamic management within the specific assets, whereas this video is about the risk-return profile of the Nifty LargeMidcap 250 index.
Hello, we have considered the Nifty 100, which incorporates both the Nifty 50 and the Nifty Next 50 indices. Nifty 100 is a more comprehensive benchmark for large-cap performance.
@@ETMONEY I agree but my point was for standalone gains nifty next has outperformed. Nifty index is very skewed towards 15-20 scrips.. so it's better to split the investment into sensex 30, nifty next and midcap for reasonable alpha
@@trendsofmarketindia7232That was my concern as well.. Am using this fund but am missing out on Next50.. But i think over longer run NN50 is same as Mid150.. so I don't care anymore as this 1 fund does it all
Sir, plz answer. Query - Which is more economical SIP strategy (for >5 yr ) (A) 5K each in Nifty 50,Nifty next 50, Midcap 150. Orrrrr (B) 15 K in Large midcap 150 index. Accounting Expense ratio, MF charges, Taxes etc
Investing in index funds will always be economical compared to active funds. Now if you are happy with returns similar to the market and don't want to worry about fund performance, you can go the index way
Sir, thank you for replying. First of all Your videos on index /Mutual funds are amazing. But in my query, all funds in (A) are index funds i.e nifty 50 index, nifty next 50 index, midcap 150 index. And fund (B) is also index fund. Both have the same components, but i think option (A) provides more investing flexibility. Don't know if this leads to more expenses, taxes. If its a incompatible query,,,plz ignore.
Sir, This video is more useful.... Plz suggest me.. Which one is best for SIP ? Edelweiss nifty large Midcap 250 index fund or Zerodha Nifty LargeMidcap 250 Index Fund
Hello, thanks for your interest in becoming a Genius member. Currently, Genius has only 1 plan which offers a way to invest in short, medium and long-term investment plans which have exposure to equity, debt and gold based on market conditions. The price is Rs 249 per month, but currently there is a limited time promotion offer that allows you to get it at Rs 149 per month for the first 12 months.

@@ETMONEY thank you for clarification, this makes sense
Mirae asset large and midcap is in my watchlist. Since market has corrected a bit. I'm going to start a new SIP.
Is it advisable to invest in both nifty 50 and Large and midcap 250 index? Or is it better to choose only 1
This is very good index, not many actively managed Large Midcap fund can beat this index in 5-7 years timeframe.
cause it is a bullmarket. during crash the story flips
Right
Large and mid cap funds of Canara Robeco and Mirae Asset are doing well. Please check on them.
Key point is missing.... Nifty next index should have been added for comparison.

Nifty100 funds have more weightage to nifty50. Is it correct? If yes then adding nifty next 50 to comparison makes sense.
I'm looking for a good detailed analysis video of Nifty MidSmallcap400 momentum Quality 100. Seems it delivered wonderful returns over long term.
