It’s snowing heavily where I am and it was so nice to sit indoors and watch your video. The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy music was a perfect accompaniment to the snow falling outside my window.❄️🎶
I just love how all your critters want to get involved with your projects -- made me smile to see your little doggie try to jump up so high -- and Devids giving her a helping hand
I like the board and batten look, and I'm sure the chickens and geese will too, lol! There's a blue painted board and batten house in my area, and it's just gorgeous. Please watch out for the cats outside too, those eagles will take anything they think they can manage. Great job guys! Peace
A eagle swoop down and took one of our kittens 😸. Had no idea it was near, completely shocked. A lot of 😢 tears nd anger. So protect your darling cat! Love the hen 🏠 . Is it possible to build a wire enclosure attached to the house, with wire on top of the enclosure. Protecting the chickens and giving you peace of mind from the birds that will come and get one for their supper.
Watch out for your little dog with the hawks as well. Around here the hawks will take our little dogs even as we are walking them. We can’t let them outside by themselves.
Love your chicken palace. If I scratch and peck at the ground, can I be one of your chickens? I hadn't noticed your use of an electric plane before. Good choice.
1 of the things I enjoy about your videos, is the quality of the filming and the music. By itself, I'd never pick the music to listen to, just not my style. But somehow, you make it fit your video's VERY well, and this makes them more relaxing and enjoyable to watch. Very nice job, both of you!!!
The stain usually changes slightly when it dries. Then, it can change again. over the next few days as it weathers. Still, the doors will be a great addition to the bird house, for warmth and security.
I just cannot get over how much money you two have saved with re-purposing all of that lumber. I know the prices here in the U.S. went crazy high just after the pandemic, so fantastic job at being thrifty! Your work is wonderful. Big hugs from Maine, USA.
I love how grating you are 🤗 I love the doors great job as always. The electric plane you use is perfect really makes a huge difference. The little wood details make it totally unique. Take care x
Please make it round. The small pieces of wood that covers the gaps between the planks are called “strips”. The doors look good, I like the way you placed the strips. You two are so talented!
Hi guys, your getting along with so many jobs. The Chicken Chalet 🐔 looks amazing. Those doors once again good re- cycling. Looks like goose eggs being made just in time. Stay safe and warm.thanks for sharing your lovely videos.
Really happy for you that you are able to get some these projects completed, and I am sure that it can all become overwhelming at times but you do such amazing work when you are able to get the job done.....
Excited about your live!! I like your tall table that you are using, saves on your back. The Stain in the states., we use a rag to apply, leave on for the wood to soak in a few minutes, and then wipe off some with a different rag. Our stain is more watery looking and more chemical smell. Not sure what chemical is used but you have to clean up with paint thinner. I wonder if you are using the stain correctly ? The doors will look great. No on the arch door. Go for sealed. Peace and love. I take back on the stain. We have outdoor deck stain that is applied with a roller. You are probably using so you don’t have to seal….
Every time I see your house and other older houses I feel it would benefit from having most of the house insulated with foam panels covered with a pvc or rubber lining. Insulation on the north east and west sides screwed against the outer walls with some durable pvc/ rubber lining that forms a moist barrier on the walls and goes into a ditch at the bottom to hold drainage pipes and have it filled in with gravel. This way you can keep the bottom of your foundation dry with the excess water running of to a low point on the property for drainage whilst burying the outer walls. Once you have the outer wals covered up like this with drainage pipe filled in with gravel/ or broken bricks for example just add soil to the point of it being just below the gutters. You could leave the south facing wall exposed (so will windows and doors be extra exposed if you don’t add some barriers next to it to hold the soil. On the south side I would add a small second hand greenhouse conservatory as an addition on the house to catch all those sun rays and store that heat in the house for winter, all that insulated mass can store heat for the winter. If the walls are thick enough to carry the sideward load and you have the funds to buy the insulation and drainage materials and hire a digger for a day then this could greatly improve the insulation of the house for decades to come, especially if you also take on the roof. The great thing of creating a house in the ground is the efficiency of building it fast and efficient for a long beneficiary time. Mike Oehler wrote a great book about cheap berm house constructions and very efficient greenhouse designs with cold air sink holes for instance and other improvements. His books; -The $50 & up underground house book. -The earth sheltered solar greenhouse book. (How to build an energy free year around greenhouse). But I would use some root barrier product on the gravel adding sand on top of that to keep the dirt out of the drainage gravel/ or for instance broken up brick bits for extra drainage. Sand will pile up in a 45 degree natural angle (or you add more 70 degrees a meter and a half high with a more gradually sloped topsoil on top of that. It doesn’t have to be pure sand you buy, you could use some soil of the property instead of all that sand as long as it drains and isn’t made of pure clay And .around the windows you’ll need some barriers to hold the soil or you’ll have some wall expose. But all the buried parts help to insulate in the winter and to keep it cool in the summer due to all the mass. Then I would use tight packed straw bales as a cheap efficient roof insulation (fire proof if packed tight). The chicken coop looks great by the way, nice build.
When you make the enclosure, bury some chicken wire along the “walls” to stop foxes and ferrets from digging and stealing the birdies. I’m guessing that’s what you’ll be doing to stop the hawks…or just a roof?
Don’t know who put all that stuff down there must have been a little strange. Thank God you didn’t find any human bones. You two are such hard workers.
From what I remember the male goose is very protective and very aggressive to anyone or anything who comes near his mate. So, it's a better idea to keep the geese separate from chickens. We had pair at one point. Nasty after they started mating.
So darn handy
Once again, you have the best music on You Tube. You are so dear.
Nice to see Keita and Ivy again 🐕🐈💕
Let’s see them installed
So cute

It looks really nice. It looks like a tiny house.
To more easily make those overlapping wood cuts for doors, etc. (called “ship lap”), you could invest in a dado blade set for your table saw.
Love your chicken palace. If I scratch and peck at the ground, can I be one of your chickens? I hadn't noticed your use of an electric plane before. Good choice.

Great Job on the door. And a Big Congrats on getting your Tracker going.... and better than before.

Just watched this and went out and built a coop door outta reused pallet boards 👍👍👍👍
Love the doors! Rustic & beautiful- great job guys!
beautiful design! I love using old wood for new projects, I also like to follow your channel and wait for new projects haha
You guys, I LOVE the door!! Great job
Love the chicken house updates! They some lucky birdies I remember when you got them.
You should use the wood shavings for your garden

Hey could you have on the door looks very good have a great day say hi to the kitties for us have a great day 🐶🐱🌴🌳😀❤️💯🔥
The 3 inspectors have Hot pants !!! 😂👍🍺
🏡🏠🐓🐔🦢🐥🐣🦢🐓
Don’t have to wipe the stain off after painting it on ? The door looks great.
Yes, stain is supposed to be wiped while still wet.
@@petpilgrimgoose that’s what I thought. I’ve stained before and that what I’ve always done.
if you put down a moisture barrier first it will help keep the moisture out of the room
Nice doors
Well done…send a photo of the chicken Koop to “architectural digest “ It deserves to be show cased…be safe…
Don't cut the door into an arch. Use paint or stain to give the illusion of an arch.
Don’t know who put all that stuff down there must have been a little strange. Thank God you didn’t find any human bones. You two are such hard workers.
🌟👏👍🍀💐 13:19
You need a Keegan jig
I like the Saint-Saëns and Tsjaikovski music... Not sure what the third piece is though...
A dato table saw blade would be easy way to put a groove in the ends of the lumber, rather than trying to use a router.
Aren't you supposed to dry of the excess stain to get those fibers comming true? Otherwise u could use a homogen paint
Last year was there a chicken killed by a goose while nesting?
Did not wipe the stain with a cloth after staining? 🤔
I enjoy your videos! What country are you from?
Don't heat chicken coop in winter.
Kregg jig they sell them in the us
No curves
U should Premiere yourself with a planer......
Overkill much?
You could air_b&b this thing.
From what I remember the male goose is very protective and very aggressive to anyone or anything who comes near his mate. So, it's a better idea to keep the geese separate from chickens. We had pair at one point. Nasty after they started mating.
You don’t need (and it’s not healthy) wooden doors for chicken coop. I made doors just from chicken wire fence. And have 0 problems since then.
You allowed to hunt and eat wild hogs?
Krāsa kā šokolādei ar 73 procentiem kakao.😂
That's a nice espresso color you put on that door. Love it!
