14:37 "She's known for her catchphrase, 'I want it now'." Sounds like the majority of the comment section when they list out a dozen "good to evil" videos that they want.
@@WickedBinge Personally, I prefer the 2005 version; though it's weird to find out that the Book has stuff the 1970s film had that the 2005 version doesn't; specifically the Robot built to detect Golden Tickets (though in the 1970s film, the robot is a computer that is made to calculate different locations), and the Lickable Wallpaper that Wonka made to be used in Kindergarten Schools, so it's like the 1970s version's strength is the surface level stuff, but the 2005 film's strength is the flashbacks given more detail, and the obsurdities going on in Wonka's factory. Oh, and BTW, will we get a Good-to-Evil Scale for the 1970s film? I feel that Mike Teavee would be the most evil, given he's suppose to be the penultimate boss that Wonka would get rid of, for how he questions surrealism or how he thinks Candy is a waste of time. Lastly, I'm surprised Charlie is 1st place Good, while Wonka is 1st Place Evil for this film; because, although the same can't apply to the 2005 version, Charlie and Wonka are complete opposites of each other in terms of family values, when it comes to the 2005 film. And although Wonka in the 2005 film should be evil for disqualifying the bad kids in a similar fashion, the 2005 film kept their word that the kids didn't end up dying, where as the 1970s film gave us the "Tell, Don't Show" writing problem. #CancelWilderWonka
Incidentally, I don't supposed you'd still remember what background music you used, in this, and many other, earlier vids? As I've been after it, for a while.@@WickedBinge
@@WickedBinge okay, but I watched the new Wonka movie, and Wonka back before he made his chocolate factory he was a nice guy (spoiler alert) even going as far as saving his friends from the hands of the two people who scammed him, and his friends also he stopped 3 people who had company's that when they have excess chocolate they store it away in an underground chocolate storage container room to drive out all new when they arrive at their door step, So I highly doubt what you said!
@Alicia Chiminje true buuuuut he had a pretty bad mouth. However I do agree that Augustus and Mike shouldn't have been in the Bad to Evil. They, and Violet, should be mid to low gray at worst
I couldn’t agree more with all of you, all the kids should definitely get the gray area, except Veruca because she’s pretty much a rotten egg that there is just no fixing her a demon child is what she is.
@@tanjirokamado723 at least in the book, the 2005 one and most versions. In the 1971 however, Veruca Salt is certainly the worse. In fact, 1971 Mike Teavee is the most moral of the kids we have time enough to know (Augustus doesn't count because we doesn't have so much of screen time coming from him so only god knows if he's not as evil as Veruca. He's also kinda nicer, more polite and (at least in my opinion) much less annoying and a more enjoyable kid than Violet.).
Charlie and the chocolate factory (2005) is my favourite live action movie ever and willy wonka is a lot nicer so I guess he will be at the top of the grey area in that list
That was one thing that bugged me about Willy Wonka. He was completely calm when the other kids broke the rules and didn't listen to him, but then he got pissed off at Charlie and his grandfather for touching the ceiling.
17:25 when you were talking about fine. It reminded me of the quote "they ask you how you are and you just have to say that you're fine and you're not really fine"
Ah, yes, “Saw for Kids”. I’d be interested to see you rank the characters of Charlie and theChocolate Factory to see who moves up and down the list. As a side thought, I’d have added Charlie’s other grandparents into the grey, as while they support Charlie, they are also don’t do anything to help keep house.
Honestly, of the four main characters (Jerry Seinfeld, George Costanza, Cosmo Kramer, and Elaine Benes), George is the ONLY one with a conscience. The other three are complete sociopaths who are completely amoral, and care only about themselves.
Mike TeeVee would definitely be in the gray area, if not actually GOOD. He's smart as a whip (although not altogether wise, obviously), and calls out Wonka on all his idiocy. He's probably the LEAST evil kid (aside from Charlie, of course). I think he might have a mild case of Asperger's Syndrome.
Good area: Darwin Penny Larry Banana Joe Alan Grey area: Gumball Richard Anais Nicole Principal Brown Mr small Bobert Evil area: Mr Robinson Ms Robinson Ms Simian Rob Tobias Orange lady (I don't think this is her name) Idk about the rest.
This ranking was very interesting. A family movie from the 70s with the majority of the characters falling into the Bad To Evil category, a sole character falling into The Grey Area, but solely three characters falling into The Good category. It’s also worth mentioning that Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was better than the 2005 remake.
This was a really entertaining and unexpected episode from you; I was surprised at just how low some ostensibly 'good' characters (Wonka, Grampa Joe) were ranked! I'm actually glad that you put most of the kids at the 'less bad' end of the 'bad-to-evil' spectrum, because yeah, they *are* just kids. For some suggestions for other videos: how about Knives Out Good-to-Evil or Good Omens Good-to-Evil? Lots of moral ambiguity in both cases.
To those who think that Willy Wonka killed the children failed to remember that they were still alive and were only kicked out as shown in the next book, mainly because Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a book adaptation.
I think you're stretching it a bit with the candy man. Yeah his behaviour is a little weird but I wouldn't consider him bad or evil at all. Plus I'm sure the hitting the girl in the face was an accident on set and not intentional.
note: I haven't seen the 2nd one, but from the 1st and 3rd one: Most Good: Sally/Mater (it's a toss up between these two for the top spot) The King Guido/Red Luigi/Fillmore/Ramone/Flo/Sarge/Sheriff/Lizzie (most of the townsfolk are kind of the same) Cruz Ramirez Doc Hudson Lightning Mcqueen Gray area: Harv (McQueen's agent) Sterling Bad/Evil Snotrod's gang Jackson Storm Chick Hicks Like I said, I left off the characters from the second film (I've heard the villain from that film would easily take the top spot for evil). I also understand some of the characters from the 1st one may have done things in the 2nd that would have influenced my placement of them.
No it isnt, that title goes to breaking bad good to evil, this list however gets into the bad section the quickest, it’s good section ties with brickleberry good to evil as the two shortest good sections, both of them at 3 spots long, and this is the shortest grey area if you don’t count the rescuers good to evil which has no grey area
@@Jis4jaycob Even though Invader Zim used the older format of ranking, I can tell that almost all their characters are either morally grey or bad to evil (except for maybe Foodio 3000 and Clembrane)
Another good character would be Mr Jopek the newsstand owner. He git Charlie to safety from the mob. And as for Bill the candy store owner, I just assumed that the kids parents paid in advance.
Lust: The world because they wanted the Golden Ticket (Lust is a strong desire for one thing while Greed is for multiple things) Envy: Also Charlie, in a sense

He also told me that when the violet scene came up he joked she became fat like his ex girlfriend.
Charlie insisted Grandpa Joe use the money to buy tobacco, but grandpa insisted food for the family should come first, and he eventually won the argument and used the money to buy Charlie a candy bar.

The Oompa Loompas should be in The Grey Area under Arthur Slugworth. I bet Willy Wonka forced them into working at his factory and made them sing and dance awkwardly when a kid dies.
I always thought Mrs. Teavee's line of "keeping your eyes open and mouth shut" meant "be quiet, Mike". This was lampshaded in the Tom and Jerrry rendition [of the Wonka movie] when Mike said something similar. The mother [in the Tom and Jerry movie] just shushed [Mike].
Depp's Wonka actually showed his sadistic side very openly. You could see him smirk everytime something was gonna happen to the kids. His smirk when he saw that pipe for Augustus coming and when he was taking forever finding the key to save verucca. I mean the other's even pointed out how it seemed odd that oompa loompa's had a song prepared and he just doged the questions. It was so creepy.
I did watch this movie a lot as a kid. I’m 25 now and I remember when I first saw this video. The thumbnail kind of shocked me. Also on other good to evil vids on WickedBinge, they don’t usually put the most good and most evil characters in the thumbnail, probably to keep viewers guessing as to where a certain character lands. So basically what I’m saying is I was stunned to see Wonka with devil horns in the thumbnail before watching the video for the first time. After the video it all made so much more sense because yeah that man’s F’D UP!
You Forgot Bill, the owner of the candy Shop and who also gave the kids Candy, while singing the candy Man Song. You Also Forgot Charlie's other Grandparents, including George, Josephine and Georgina.
I would say the most evil could be the ex employees who sold Wonka's recipes for a quick buck. Although, considering how Wonka runs the factory, I can see why they stabbed Wonka in the back.
16:10 “good chance those kids are dead”. I think, Mr. Narrator, that you forgot about Willy Wonka’s line right before his big rant. When Charlie asks about the other kids, Willy Wonka replies calmly, “Don’t you worry, they will be perfectly fine and restored to their normal selves.” Yes, falling towards a furnace or being sent into a room that makes fudge is definitely close to a death sentence, but if everything is planned like the story implies, then Willy Wonka would definitely have sought to it that the emphasis was on that “close to”.
I think the candy man giving free candy was a one-time thing, and also, if he was giving away free candy, Charlie could’ve gone in there. And the kid getting hit with the door was an accident.
I always figured the guy working at the candy store had some kind of deal with the other kids' parents and he would be paid later, but of course Charlie's mother wouldn't have been a part of that.
Last thing wonka did is he did rigged the system and allowing only 5 kids of his choosing because he did admits to near the end of the film of explain why it was all set up.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory is one of my all time favorite movies, even if it does have some dark stuff both in it and behind it.
Agreed, it's a classic. The dark stuff made it so much better.
@@WickedBinge you forgot the Tinker, Mr. Jopeck, and the Oompa Loompa!

@@tanjirokamado723 at least in the book, the 2005 one and most versions. In the 1971 however, Veruca Salt is certainly the worse. This movie was one of my childhood movies. I used to watch it with my Grandma. Good memories.
That was one thing that bugged me about Willy Wonka. He was completely calm when the other kids broke the rules and didn't listen to him, but then he got pissed off at Charlie and his grandfather for touching the ceiling.
It might be interpreted that he knew the others are bad but he had hopes for Charlie and when Charlie broke the rules that really hurt him.
He wasn’t expecting much from those brats, but he expected better things from Charlie.

I just love how in the movie, the only individuals who have the gall to tell Verruca Salt to put a sock in it are the other children.
To those who think that Willy Wonka killed the children failed to remember that they were still alive and were only kicked out as shown in the next book, mainly because Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a book adaptation.
I really think putting The Candy Man in the bad section comes as a really huge surprise. The song gave it away to not put him so low.
I think you're stretching it a bit with the candy man. Yeah his behaviour is a little weird but I wouldn't consider him bad or evil at all. Plus I'm sure the hitting the girl in the face was an accident on set and not intentional.
