I have literally never been happier to see someone cut their toenails. All I could think about was "how does she wear close toed shoes with toenails that long?!" or "how has she not managed to get an ingrown toenail?!" So much anxiety for her.
How did Cristine not snag a sock with those nails?
I mean have you seen her in those type of shoes? Also she did cut those nails through year... And those aren't even that long - most of these don't even go further than a toe. If you can't fit your foot in a shoe if you have that long toenails, maybe you are buying way to tight shoes.

I have a theory that gel wouldn’t have lasted as long, even though it’s stronger. Gel takes months to budge on my toes, but once it starts to lift it just pops off like a press on nail. There’s no way it would last me a year.

Yes! Literally I was so annoyed cos it so wasn't worth the effort, popped off so soon!
The gel polish on my toenails actually came off faster than regular nail polish. I think it lasted about a week and a half to two weeks, same as on my fingernails. Regular polish lasts over a month on my toes.

Yes! Me, too!!! But I expected her toenails would grow more slowly than her fingernails. But I was *wrong!* She must have very good circulation in her lower extremities. I'm middle aged and my circulation isn't that good anymore. My toenails actually _do_ grow more slowly than my fingernails.
I also suspected they would grow slower than her fingers. Sadly for me my toenails grow like so fast and my fingernails hate me! Lol

I’m studying in a “beauty academy” and two of my teachers did the same experiment but with gel polishes, the results were the same, it last 1 year to grow completely
Of course. Growth will be the same, but how long the gel lasts is different thing. They had more than just spec left over after a year I would assume.

Story time nobody asked for.
When a was a little younger, my dads friend saw that my toenails were painted black. He told me that if I got hurt, the paramedics would look at my toes, see that they were black, think I wasn’t getting blood circulation to my toes and then would drill a hole in the toenail to get blood flow back to them. He was a lil drunk but it scarred me for a little while.

My grandmother actually used to grow both fingernails and toenails long and file them and paint them always red (blue red in the summer, orange-red in the winter)... she had long manicured toe nails just like her fingernails. She loved it. I don't know how she wore boots in the winter.
