I leveled up using a companion build. I got a few pieces of armor in the past couple of days for companions and was thinking of what i could do with them. Thank god i found this video and thank you for posting it.
LOVE seeing the companion stuff! No one does them because they aren't 'meta' so its hard to know what is possible with them and how to get it to work better. thank you!
It's not that they aren't `meta`, it's that all minion builds suffer from bad ai and constantly dying, it's just such a terrible experience at the moment, if blizzard fixes at least the survivability many more people will run it, even just for fun
@@Spawnova Well... they go hand and hand to me. What your saying is basically what I'm saying. They aren't meta because the ai is awful and they die continually, therefore, they don't perform like the other builds. Hopefully it improves in the future. Thanks
@@Spawnova you dont need wolves at all in "companion" build, unless you pick them to tank bosses spells. Otherwise, yes, wolves are useless because they are oneshot by every single elite on ND. Additionaly their jump is basicaly useless so its simply waste of skill points. You should only use companions for shepherd multiplier legendary aspect.
There is an aspect where chrystalize Armor also works against physical dmg and on your companions. Could that be built in? Also wondering about a build where you stay in human form. Thoughts? ( just playing casual)
I wouldn't recommend it you would end up losing another aspect that is more important for a 10% damage reduction buff for your pets. Maybe if you are playing in groups it could be worth to give the buff to everyone but for solo probably not worth.
The werebear aspect has a higher multiplier BUT it consumes the poison. The shred one does NOT consume the poison. So you can keep spamming it to full effect!
This really helps when your fighting against enemies that have a damage resist aura mob in them. You can kill the aura mob and still shred again to get the burst off. Whereas with changelings you are just praying you oneshot them through the damage aura. Which can be done if geared enough haha especially since you get access to overpower.
Hi, I’m somewhat new to the game and not too high of a level right now, around 63 . For most of my armor, am I just looking for random rares that drop as ancestrials and then level then up to legendsries by adding an aspect to them or am I looking for actual legendary items ?
either works. you can find legendaries or find rares then imprint them what matters is the secondary stats. on your chestpiece for example, if you have a rare item that has damage reduction from distant/close and damage reduction while fortified that is a really good chestpiece. So you would break down the legendary you have and imprint it onto the chestpiece. But if you find a legendary that has good stats on it there is no reason to break it down. Upgrading rares is just a good way to fish for better secondary stats. And you typically will want the rares to be ancestrial because that means they have higher stat rolls on them generally.
Wolves can be wear wolves and spread diseases also other one makes them basically teleport with slight AOE storm howl and light dmg so two legend aspects there
Thank you for this video mate. Now I can see how companion build feels. I however going for Storm -Werewolf build. Very interesting. Definitely they need to fix wolves to handle higher tiers.
I actually am working on a tornado druid build but i have 3 offensive aspect slots open. I have sheperds aspect and the extra companion one. Would you recommend them or would they not be helpful enough?
It could, if your going for tornadoes and not werewolves you could drop storms companion. reduce the ranks in wolves and just utilize them to spread poison for heightened malice in paragon tree and shepherds aspect. however, going grizzly rage is probably the best version of the tornado druid. Aspect rampaging werebeast on ring, dire wolfs aspect on necklace, seekers aspect on other ring, 1 hand and totem, retaliation on totem, accelerating aspect on weapon and mighty storms aspect on your gloves. You will have one high dps build that can smoke world tier 4 and higher torment dungeons if you go the grizzly rage earthern might tornado druid.
@@Negative_IQ_Gaming oh yea i know tornado wolf is better..if i got tempest roar i would prob switch but for the time being, shapeshifting is not really holding my attention lol. Just trying to do an old D2 druid for fun.
I love seeing builds other than Pulverize for Druid. There’s so many fun builds in The game but everyone only cares about the top .1% build and honestly that’s fine but there’s tons of other builds that can crush the content no issue.
Great build I use one similar to it. I noticed you were only dashing on the initial. If you keep dashing it seems to proc blurred beast repeatedly. imo this is where it beats out other builds such as the werebear which consumes the poison damage. Elites/bosses get melted and more chance of lupine proc dashing a lot.
Wonder if going full companion with storm instead of wolf abilities would be good seeing as your wild companions are nature magic now and there are a lot of nature passives

I like this build but one of my bigger problems is sustainable damage. I was surprised the Lust for Carnage board wasn't' used. 2 Spirit per critical hit seems like a big fix to my problem. I had it before on a different build. It works great. The Ferocity node is also a good node. Any thoughts on how to add this to fix the spirit issues? Or another way? I spend way too much time swinging my basic attack doing very little damage.
Awesome guide! I am only level 60 but am running a similar build except I am using blood howl instead of earthen bulwark (will probably have to switch out at higher level maybe). I am still having spirit issues so I can't switch out just yet, but I am definitely going to use your guide as the gold standard :). Any thoughts on spirit issues?
i think earthen might + aspect of natural balance & mighty storms aspect might help this build more.. if you can swap things out. I want to a companion build soon but im HC (thankfully hit 100 though) and cant take as much risks haha. natural balance would give u a bunch of crit chance if earthen might doesnt proc, and if it does proc (from mighty storms from ur basic (BUT THEN ADD TEMPTEST ROAR) and now your shred does a crap ton more damage as itll be storm also)... have you considered that stuff at all? youll also be able to spam shred more (full spirit from earthen might) and it'd be more so a werewolf wolves build.. take off quickshift add it elsewhere, etc. and then with this crit chance youll be resetting your companions way more. I don't really see the hp gain while close as a useful aspect.. so lmk man, definitely wanna try this out soon, i have all the uniques for it :) but may need some better stat prioritized items. i theorized something like this before: ruclips.net/video/QeHFt6hpNPI/видео.html only issue is if wolves are too weak/not useful if they lol.
In the notes section of the d4builds link I have alterations you can make to defensive aspects. Life gain is good for at level. However, aspect of disobedience and aspect of mending stone is good especially for nightmare dungeons. I would say, your suggestions could work. However, you would lose to much of the theme im going for with this build using those items. You would be proccing aspect of natural balance every 12 seconds. Since earthen bulwark is the only way to proc it and that has a 16 second CD and the buff only last for 4 seconds. Running the affix that makes blood howl give crit would be a better option IMO and you could heal wolves. However, the question then becomes what do you give up to change items. The 100% core skill damage you get form aspect of the shepherd? the 38% core skill damage you get from aspect of retaliation? Or would you sac the werewolf theme and get rid of aspect of the alpha. There is no way you ever get rid of blurred beast. It is the best shred damage increase in the game. I don't see a way to add in any of those aspects without losing the theme of this build. The only adjustment I have made that keeps the theme is dropping ravens, putting debilitating roar in and using aspect of the dark howl on boots to turn it into a werewolf ability. But that is still at the cost of 44% damage. However this build really doesn't lack damage so it works out fine. Then running tempest roar in this build would cause you to have to drop storms companion, which makes your wolves lose the ability to benefit from storm and nature skill damage increases from the paragon board as well as 30% companion skill damage that also benefits vine creeper that also benefits shred because of aspect of the blurred beast and you lose 3-4 ranks in wolves. In order to survive nightmare dungeons you really need 2 defensive aspects. Aspect of disobedience, aspect of might, aspect of mended stone are all good options etc. IMO this current setup maximizes how much damage your wolves can do while also giving your shred really good damage. However, if your trying to min max dropping wolves entirely and focusing on a shred is just way better. This build isn't about how do I min max the most possible damage so I can push as far as possible. Its a, I want to play the werewolf wolfpack theme, how can I make it nightmare dungeon playable so I can farm exp with a build I enjoy even though its not the most giga damage build. Like I said in the video its in no way going to dethrone the top druid builds. but it is a viable way to farm experience if you are deadset on playing the werewolf pack theme in nightmare dungeons. Let me know what you think! sorry for writing a book haha I was just trying to give you a thorough answer. I would be interested to see what you come up with though! I'm still trying to get the build together but have it on weapon (be 300% then), shred seeks poison in neck, damage per companion in ring and get rid of dmg when fortify. I don't know if it'd be worth it but I think it would hit so damn hard on a companion build with high poison creeper damage. I had it in an imperfect build at lvl 40 and would get 80k crits back then.
there is an aspect for werewolf that gives them cyclone armor.. and blood howl should be healing them.. you could go blood howl build and it should heal them and gives crit.

you do know there is an aspect for your bulwark to make it last like 10 seconds instead of a mere 3......... you should be using that.... so the cooldown is really only a mere 6 seconds and not 16..
in the notes section of the D4 builds link I talk about variations. But your not wrong about blood howl, if your okay giving up shred damage in favor of more werewolf survivability + more chance to crit to reset that is totally fine.
i mean this build looks good .... but you have to remember you are doing normal dungeon... imagine their dmg and how often they die in nightmare dungeons 10-15 levels higher from you.... you would do little to no dmg with nearly perfect build

Yeah i have noticed that as well. seems very feast or famine.
Does anyone know a good build that works with permanent werewolf chest
Yes, but you also need Tempest Roar, another unique.
Love companions always have, always do... Has Anybody tried out a werebear companion build? And if got anyone a recommendation?
i might use this to level up and then go stormwerewolf build that one looks better to me personally
This isn't a meta build by any means. Its a themed build. Its just seeing how far using werewolfs can go. The higher you go the worse it gets. Storm werewolf is most likely better if your looking for a more meta build. But im gonna continue see how far I can go with this for fun.
All that investment, and really, really good items. To do WT4. :|
how are those wolves werewolves actually ?
Aspect of the alpha.
Thats what I looking for what make wolfs useful. I played werebaer from 1-50 and I realized its so boring. I didnt think that companions are this useful. However my wolfs dies too quickly
Try nighthowler's aspect. You can heal your wolves with your blood howl and boost their crit chance.
For sure dont speed up. Its already Hard to compare 2 builds performance
And as high nightmare tier as possible i guess :)
Will do, I am releasing a follow up for this build for nightmare dungeons tomorrow.
How do you have all those uniques I keep getting the same uniques over and over. Ww build druid has made me want to refund the game.
you do know there is an aspect for your bulwark to make it last like 10 seconds instead of a mere 3......... you should be using that.... so the cooldown is really only a mere 6 seconds and not 16..
in the notes section of the D4 builds link I talk about variations.
This isn't a meta build, it's just for fun. You'll switch to something better if you go high tier nightmare dungeons.
Crit close to 60% when mobs are poisoned.
Someone help me farm these items
Nectomancer summons and druid summons all need hige buffs! Stop nerfing shit!
kek, you're less tanky and do less damage than my 75 lvl shredpherd
