That's a Pennsylvania Railroad S1 6-4-4-6 type locomotive. Only 1 was ever built and was numbered 6100. It was built in 1940 and was used on passenger service on the PRR. However, the S1 wasn't very successful. It was retired in 1948 and scrapped in 1950, not coming close to preservation.
The PRR S1 class was actually built in 1939 as an experimental locomotive to be prepared for the 1939 World's Fair in New York. It was nicknamed "The Big Engine"! It retired in 1945 and was scrapped in 1949.
A crew in a GUSTAVTIME SW1500 was exploring the abandoned Hulett Ore Unloaders in Cleveland, Ohio because a steam locomotive was said to be there. They looked around, but they couldn’t find it. The engineer noticed a large workshop and he suggested they check inside it to see if the steam locomotive they were looking for was there. So they switched the track and drove the SW1500 over to the workshop, opened the doors, and drove the switcher engine inside. When they went inside, they thought they could see a large rusty shape at the back of the workshop. They couldn’t tell what it was from first glance, but as they got closer, they realized it was the steam locomotive they were looking for. It was large, streamlined, and had a 6-wheeled pilot truck, two set of 4 driving wheels, and a 6-wheeled trailing truck all mounted on a single ridged frame. It was none other than the one and only Pennsylvania Railroad S1 Duplex. Story says that the S1 was abandoned in here in 1946 to try to protect it from being scrapped. Soon, the S1 was coupled up to the flatcar behind the SW1500 and they set off. As they exited the workshop, the crew noticed the SW1500 was slowing down and pulling hard. They realized it was the S1’s wheels and frame that made it impossible for the switcher to get the great steam locomotive around the curve. The S1 was stuck and the switcher’s wheels spun helplessly. The crew decided to call in for a bigger and stronger diesel engine and hoped to get the S1 out of the siding and moved to the GUSTAVTIME locomotive shops to be restored. To be continued…
Gustavtime I had a dream similar to what happened with this S1 locomotive. Instead of an S1 it was a Erie Triplex a 2-8-8-8-2 it was hidden in a forest it was in a hand built shed and it looked new but I looked up the number and what i found out the engine has been on the run since 1933.
@@MVF_2024- I’m not saying that there’s a video for it. What I mean is that I can imagine if someone makes a video about it. Even GUSTAVTIME could possibly make a video out of it if there is an Erie Triplex model that’s compatible with the Train Simulator he uses.
A giant has been found at a shipyard in Ohio. It happens to be the S1 of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Its out of the depot. Restoration work will commence soon. The journey will take a while though.
I'd like to see videos in the future showing alternate reality scenarios where a Northern Pacific Northern (including the Timken 1111, the PRR S2 Turbine, a NYC Niagara, a N&W Y6b, or a New Haven I-5 Hudson survives being cut up, but is left abandoned and later rescued.
Saving a Cab Forward is okay , Saving an Pennsylvania Railroad S1 (wich is extinct) is okay , i dont think i can say the same for the Hullet Ore Unloader if you agree hit the like button below
No way. The one and only. The PRR S1. Save it at all costs

I hate to be that "Know it all" but its a 6-4-4-6 not a 4-4-4-4. The T1 is a 4-4-4-4.
@MOHAWKL4A3124 Oh yes you are absolutely right. I got the wheel arraignments mixed up. My mistake

Oh shut up 👎🏻
Looking forward to part 2 bud loving the way the SW1500 Diesel Locomotive switcher was struggling to get it around the curve.😅😅😅
that is like a mouse trying to push an elephant because it been kept indoors be easier to restore

As a Triplex fan, I can imagine that actually being a video.

Awesome video keep up with a great work and be safe out there.
Now I understand why a larger and more powerful rescue train was in order.
PRR S1 !!!WOW!!Locomotice ICON !!
a prr s1 6-4-4-6 amazing definitely needs to be saved
First, the locomotive needs to be restored as well as the Huletts. 🙂
Not the locomotive I was expecting. Thought it might be like a mikado or a f7 Hiawatha but nooe

@GUSTAVTIME When to rescue the electric locomotive in the swamp?
She doesn't know when she will rescue it
It's been old and have no wheels
And I don't think a crane can lift it because it's near a swamp
oo ok@@Joshua-jd1kd
This locomotive needs to be rescued
THE S1 DUPLEX?!!! NO WAY!!!
As a Pole, I like your swichers locomotives (Sorry if I pronounce it wrong)
No freaking way. It's time to get that thing fixed so it can run with the T1.
We need a video for the restaration for the locomotives in the secret bunker
It would be cool to see a ex conrail sd80 Mac get rescued
Let's restore that one
When I saw it was 6100 herself, my heart stopped!
When will the SP AC-9?

Yeah Kinda SW1500 is Too Heavy Pulling A PRR S1 but They Are Needs Request To Send Any Biggest Flatbed Car

Should do a big boy (not 4014) or a challenger or a triplex
It’s my favorite s1 the brother of the t1 oh yes my favorite engine Evan in a historical place
You should disconnect the pistons from the drive wheels so you dont damage the cyllinders when you move steam locomotives.
Much faster than the PRR K1 (i think)
Save it and restore it
leaving the depot 6:02
