- If your turtle is sneezing, that is bad news, because that means it has a cold. It could turn into a lung infection if not treated early. Unfortunately, there is no home remedy to a cure the problem. My turtle got a cold this past frigid winter, and I show you how I bring it back to a healthy happy turtle.
Warning: The treatment does involve going to a vet, and doing antibiotic shots yourself. But don't worry, you can do it.

My turtles are currently sick. We took them to the vet and we have them on antibiotics for 10 days too. We’re currently on day 4. 😬 I hope they get better soon🤞
anyway I was going to ask how long it took ur turtle to get her appetite back after the 10 days of antibiotics.

Sorry that your turtles got sick, but they are on the right path to good health with antibiotics 😀 For my turtle, by day 9, she was starting to eat again 🐢 It will differ depending on your turtles condition. That is a one big turtle :) I have an axolotl in my aquarium. It also got sick one time. It developed fungus behind its ears. Now Cookie is ok :) You did well with your turtle. Have you ever been bitten while giving those chips. Hurray!!

I didn't know they got colds. I wonder how it got sick. My cats get sick and I wonder how they got it. They don't go out and they never come into contact with other cats. Seems like it would be easier to feed them an antibiotic. 👍
Yeah, turtles get colds. Its a pain and costly to cure them. Its not like I can pick up aspirin at CVS. 😮 Thank you fer watchin my turtle video, buddy❗️

Hi Wonyoungmilk. Im sorry to hear about that. Its hard for a turtle to have an appetite, if it cant see well. There are eye drops for turtles that could help with irritation. If that doesnt work, try to take your turtle to the vet. It might be an eye infection.

Hello. Please help me out..my turtle is in trouble.
He is not eating anything since about 1.5 months. We tried feeding him lots of different food but yet he didnt eat. His eyes were also swollen.
We took him to vet and got his medicines. He also gave him an injection. We feed him medicines but his appetite is still not back.
There are some white spots on his shell too..plus he makes some noises..today a bit loudly..i dont how to define that noise..
We have difficulty feeding too because he doeent open his mouth easily too..
Please tell me if he will be okay????? I cant see him in this situation. I take care of Changing his water and of the adequate termperature. It has been raining since lot of days so theres very litttle to no sun light.
As of now, his eyes has fully opened..but he still cant see properly..he moves here and there very little and just dozes off.
Please help me. I hope his condition is not critical????

I am so sorry to hear about your turtles condition. 🐢 First, I would recommend a second opinion and treatment from a vet that is a reptile specialist. Breathing noise usually means a repiratory infection. That will need antibiotic shots which sounds like what you are doing though.
For the eyes, there are eye drops for turtles you can get on amazon. A turtle will not want to eat if it cant see what it is eating and/or if its sick.
A vet may recommend feeding liquid food by syringe. That depends on your case.
As for no sun, you can use artificial lightbulbs that emit UV rays for vitamin D. The white spots you can treat with an iodine solution (as shown in my other video about curing turtle shell fungus from last year i believe). I hope this is helpful and that your turtle gets better❗️

Hi chielax. If your baby turtle has a cold, I recommend you bring to a vet. May need antibiotics. For appetite, make tank warmer like 75 degrees about. Warnth stimulates turtles to want to eat 🐢 Good luck!
I have a question my painted turtle has she'll rot and unfortunately every exotic vet around here is not taking any more people what can I give her to help with it?
Hello Steph. Sorry to hear about your turtles shell rot. 🐢 Hopefully, your local vet does start taking exotic pets, but in the meantime, try to wipe down your turtles shell. You can use antiseptic topical spray for pets which is anti-fungal. Apply it to the shell, all around. Keep the turtle out of the water so that the shell can dry for a couple hours at a time, as long as it is warm enough. More importantly, have a good place for your turtle to get out of the water and dry off. Thanks for your question!

Hi Reham. Im sorry to hear that your turtle is sick. It is normal for turtle to lose appetite when sick. Definitly try to warm up your turtle tank with extra heater and heat lamp (about 85 - 90 degrees overall warmth in tank). This will stimulate your turtles appetite. Try as many different foods such as small pellets, worms, dried bugs, lettuce and dandelion leaves. I hope this is helpful.

Hi. It sounds like your turtle is weezing. That means your turtles lungs might be congested if it is sqeaking while breathing. I hope your turtle feels better 🐢 You may need to take to vet to check on it

Hi Nakka. When turtle breathes through its mouth that very likely means it is too congested to breathe through the nostrils. Unfortunately, there could be a respiratory infection involved if your turtle has a cold. There is no over the counter medicine that can fix this condition. I recommend that you take your turtle to a vet. 🐢 The sooner you treat it, the less complex recovery will be. Thanks for your question, Nakka.
