Autoswitch of scenes will only happen while live or recording, to avoid interrupting your editing. It will simply show an alert at the bottom.

turns out.. it actually does work without being live and also without recording.. you just have to be in Studio Mode. I'm using it right now. I think I had too many tabs open in Chrome when I tried to test it.
