    Thank you for sharing your journey with your new Airstream. We just sold our 2017 16’ Bambi and are picking up our new 23’ 2022 Flying Cloud in a week. It has been a great experience with the Bambi, but it was time to upsizing and upgrading. Your video with a tour of yours confirmed we made a good decision. All your detailed reviews and comments have been so helpful. Great job and wishing you many more amazing travels with your Airstream.

    Apprecite ur video and experience. Just want to let u know about our trip to Jackson Centre, Ohio. We decided to do a camping trip and do our warranty work during it. We just spent two days at Jackson Centre. We had mostly minor issues but wanted to get them fixed before our 1 yr. We had the power stabilizer motors installed (as they were back ordered last yr, due to Covid). Chip on bathroom door frame (replaced), delaminated panel under fridge (replaced), window blind hitting window handle (fixed), shower sweep (replaced and washer, spacers put on bottom and top - hinge side), heater air duct under sink (duct work shortened blowing stronger now), sinking pull facet (adjusted), sink cleaned (white diamond cleaner), upper cupboard molding fixed. Wires hanging loose in cupboards and cabinets fastened also awning box under-bed fastened. A few other minor things. All covered under warranty. No hassles at all. Tech was excellent. In saying all this not everyone had the same experience there that we meet. I was only there two days but found and saw little communication from Managers when problems arose with customers. They for sure need to improve the customer experience, better communication from managers to customers on work performed and any issues that arise, customer waiting area needs a major make over (eg. new carpet, tv’s, complementary beverages, airstream store could be better stocked).

    Thanks for your video. The cost for buying an Airstream is an expensive endeavor. All the issues that you guys brought up where relatively minor but they all add up like for example the cabinet edges. These do standout and basically they become a sore eye item. It is disappointing for the lack of service by Airstream. Their units are in great demand and if we want to buy a new Airstream we have to pay the price. I wonder how other companies compare in warranty work or the quality work that they have for other RV's? Sorry you guys that you guys got poor service or no response. It's disappointing to learn that you have to chase them down to find them and to get them to look and mediate the problem. Thanks for your input. Happy Air streaming!

    We just took delivery of a "new" International. We too have cabinet edge/beading bumpy/exposed glue issue. Also, the cabinet alignment was bad on several of the cabinets. I could see where they mounted one of the slides three (3) times trying to get it right (and then gave up). We have an appointment to have this corrected. ***AS should really do better on their final QA inspection and catch these issues.

    Airstream makes great trailers. I did have issues with the dealer for warranty repairs with my trailer. I suspect that repair costs are higher after "end of warranty" and they improve profit?. It is a problem for Airstream Corp with the dealers and I hope they will address the long repair wait times, lack of warranty service and very high costs of other repair. New airstreams may be an issue and I do think that looking at well maintained pre-owned trailers will work out better for most purchasers. Yes, document any issues at time of delivery for sure. In fact, don't take delivery until issues are fixed. On the water heater, if it is an Atwood, could be the thermostats. I am from the West coast. Thanks for a great video and information. Take care and travel safe. Dave.

    Every cabinet door I’ve seen has the glue showing. It’s due to the way the apply the laminate. Apparently no one has worked in a cabinet shop before. Face laminate goes on after the edge laminate.

Couple minor problems with the 2017 and had them fixed at the Mothership. The 2019 FC has been flawless. We have over 300 nights in the 2019. There are some very frustrated folks out there with not such great experience. We would still buy another AS as the SOB's (some other brand) are still inferior to AS. Hi
    So did you do the 5 star $2399 maintenance? I am wondering if it is worth that expense. We have a Flying Cloud with dual AC so it is approx $250 more. We are booked in for that next month in Tampa 1 week prior to our 1 year "warranty" expiration as I am well aware of the corporate warranty denial department (used to to work in a fortune 500 company that did exactly the same thing). I called ahead and gave them (Tampa) a list of issues and also 2-3 issues that require Jackson Center attention. We are booked with JC for August but that is for frame related problems and not deniable, nor did they attempt to deny us that it was warranty so that seems to be ok. Thanks for any advice. Appreciate it.

    Stainless Steel is rust resistant not rust proof. Cameo Cleaner and Barkeepers Friend are the same, so whichever is easiest to find. The warranties vary depending on the manufacturer ( i.e : Dometic, Moen ,etc) of each item. A lot of people don’t realize this. The trim and other materials can alter due to humidity, excessive dryness, etc. I spent a couple of nights in my unit at the dealership in order to thoroughly check the unit as well as to familiarize myself with the unit and get all of my questions answered.

    I truly must be missing something here? I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me? For years, and I do mean years, I have been wanting to spend mucho dinero on an Airstream. Remember, they are recognized as the quintessential travel trailer in the industry. Bar none…and yet compared to other industry segments, they build an absolute inferior product. So here’s my disconnect. You have two folks, honest folks, walking all of us through the most ridiculous problems that they have encountered over just 18 months. 18 MONTHS. On top of that, you have the quintessential travel trailer manufacture trying to avoid warranty commitments at every corner yet in the comment section you have people mentioning that they can’t wait to get there Airstream or that they have just ordered their Airstream. Here’s a newsflash. If you had more people like me that refused to part with their hard earned money until Airstream, and the entire RV industry, stopped ripping us off, perhaps there would be fewer of these RV industry nightmare posts. But nooooooooooo. We as consumers are telling manufactures like Airstream, sure! Build your piece of junk, charge an enormous amount of money for it and we will continue to buy it! Who do you think is getting the last laugh? You can’t spell SUCKER without “U” in it. SMH. They can put a man on the moon but they can’t build a sink that doesn’t rust it just 18 months?! It’s almost as if we are all on video being punked.

      Just bought a new 2023 Bambi 19CB in March 2023 after 'researching' for 3 years. All of the research in the world did not prepare me for the nightmare I am living with this horrible p.o.s.. The Airstream 3 year warranty does not cover anything not manufactured by Airstream. The freaking steel axle has a bend. It is not made by Airstream, but by Dexter. Many other exterior & interior issues. I won't drive it with a bent axle. Airstream won't cover or tow. Lemon lawyers won't help unless I've taken it in for service at least 3 times & have been out if service for at least 90 days. I am screwed for over $60k (my retirement).

    Wowza….I would not be taking ur airstream to Airstream of Tampa for any work in the future if that is their level customer service. I think that is brutal. We got our current(GT) and first (Sports 2013) airstreams from a dealership in Ontario, Canada. No issues at all getting everything and anything fixed under warranty. And if it wasn’t covered under the warranty and it was clear it shouldn’t of broken or failed they fixed it at their expense. I don’t think many abuse their airstreams and urs is basically brand new. That is ridiculous they didn’t put a new spacer on the tv even if it is still not under warranty. Then they didn’t tell u what to use on the sink to remove the rust 😬 We have the same issue with our sink I am hoping to get a better answer as to why when we go in next month. they must know as u and I have had the same issue so there must be many. The cabinets are clearly a missed quality control item in manufacturing. I would of been speaking to a manager. In our 2021 GT 23 Twin, some of the corners on the upper cabinets trim are poorly attached. Not an easy fix. Again should of been caught at the factor but the dealership say they will fix it. Ridiculous they said u should of recorded it at pick up. Id be again speaking to a manager and asking how he/she thinks u caused that to the cabinet doors 🤷‍♀️ Shame on them. Its actually insulted that is implied that u did something to cause that. I have to ask what is Tampa charging for its annual service? We rarely ever had to take the sport 22 in ….. ull have to let us know what they do for this annual service? Sounds like over kill to me🤷‍♀️

    • @ExactlyErica
      @ExactlyErica  2 года назад

      Agree. Level of service for a luxury priced item is lacking. The annual service at Tampa is $2399. I will post an update if Airstream addresses the issues.

      It’s hit or miss from our experience. Airstream of Fort Myers never called us back , while the Tampa store did. The lead time varies on what the issue is and what parts are needed. But I agree, for the price, the experience should be a lot more customer friendly and the warranty should be bumper to bumper . I’ve had better experiences at my Ford dealer.

    used to be a two warranty for everything and then changed to 3 years, which sounded good but the 3 year basically covers everything that does not break. I just picked up my 4th airstream in 5 years and I think the 2023 models may be the worst ever manufactured.

      Lovely…I pick up my pottery barn 2023 this Friday. I bought a 2022 but with delays in production, it is now a 2023.😬

    Stainless will rust.

    • @ExactlyErica
      @ExactlyErica  2 года назад

      It seemed excessive because we rarely use the kitchen sink and it was rusty after a few weeks. The bathroom sink gets used all the time and shows no rust. Looks like we’ll just clean it off when it happens again.

      Yes cheap China stainless steel , ask any Residential Kitchen sink manufacturer when they bought cheap Chinese stainless grade what they had although they wont admit it

    Also check out The Wanderlocal RUclips channel. They have a recent video of mods for your airstream. I ended up buying them all. My airstream is only 9 months old but my ac drain line was already clogged

    • @ExactlyErica

      We did check out that video, it had good content. We will look into the products they showed. Our dealer performed the AC service as part of the annual service, but I will double check that the drain line is clear. Did you use the cable method?

    You don't sell a premium product at a premium price and then nickle and dime the warranty. My takeaway? Don't buy a new Airstream. They've been making these for almost 90 years, they charge the highest prices (which should mean quality above all else) and they still have these problems? and they leave it in the customer's lap? Inexcusable.

    The cabinet issue should be a major one for Airstream, because it shows plain and simple very sloppy work at their facilities. Airstream makes all their cabinets, i.e. there is no third party involved. Your cabinet corners are not even cut straight. At the Airstream premium an absolut no no no! This alone indicates pure quality control and work ethics. It makes customers wonder, what else did get done without the necessary care. Maybe, we should be looking at the competition. At Airstream's premiums this issue simply must not appear.

    I suggest buying a rivet gun and stainless steel rivets at Home Depot. You need to learn how to repair them yourself.

  • @casskit9502

    In short “AirStream” screwed you guys. Stainless steel contain Nickel. Therefore true stainless steel will not rust. You got screwed on the sink delivered as stainless when it truly wasn’t. Cabinets appear to be something that would come in a doll house. Lessened learned. Sorry
