    Every time I watch your vlogs it cos me money 😅 been down to falcon to have a camera fitted on the back of my caravan, so I can use it as a rear view mirror, which I'm really happy with. The people at falcon were brilliant, friendly and helpful, I also ended up buying the 27 inch TV, which is amazing quality picture, I asked stuart the sales guy if he would set it up for me, which he did with out any hesitation, and dean the fitter really explained how the camera unit worked. We stayed on there site for 2 nights which was a lovely quite little site. They made us feel really welcome. So I'm going to have to be careful when I watch your vlogs cos they cost me money 😂

    Very interesting. We got a 2022 swift major 4SB and we can get a 32inch as you go in the door. I think it fits great but Jeannie has another opinion, takes the space but it was one of the main reasons we picked it

    Hello! I'm Robbie, how are you? I'm relatively new to caravanning myself, but I've been loyally & very happily following you now for a couple of years. I've learnt so much just by following your channel, so thanks for that! I recently bought a more modern caravan, my second in only a couple of years. I've rigged my caravan with lots of expensive Victron equipment so that it runs completely off grid. I still remember watching your suitcase solar panel video and did exactly that, bought a little 100w panel. I now have a Multiplus, over 400w of solar, a Cerbo GX, BMV, a couple of fancy batteries & blah blah. (The aim was to never have to rely on shore power & to do that with a caravan's wiring integrated properly was a lot of work, but now it works seamlessly).
    Regarding the topic of this video, which I'm sure is very helpful for so many people, I wanted to share my thoughts if that's ok?
    I used to have a 12v TV, but I'm not really one who even watches terrestrial TV, I don't have one in my house anymore, as I have a piano in the space it once was, but when it comes to putting one in my caravan, I struggled to find a suitable space for a size that would make watching it feel decent; just like you guys I guess? So, I bought a mini 4k projector and hung a 50inch projector screen and now it's like going to the movies every time I go away. It's one of the things I look forward to the most. I bought the projector from Amazon for about £80 and the screen was I think about £40. It hooks up to my caravan speakers and, trust me, it's absolutely amazing! It's rigged to my 4k amazon fire tv stick which has all the apps too. I definitely recommend it. You can see what it looks like on my instagram account which is linked in my channel. Highly recommend giving it a go.
    Also, I'd love to collaborate with you as I am so new to the Caravan community if that's something that would appeal to you too? Thanks again so so much for the inspiration! Love the new van!!! Take care, Robbie-Lee Valentine, the CurlyBeardyCaravannerUK on TikTok (also brand new channel) and on Insta I am TheNewNordlander - Nordland being the region of Norway my family are from.
    *Sorry for the long message. I'm just fresh back from an amazing stay at a Cl site in NorthWales where I did parts of the Offas Dyke trail I've never done before - Chapel House if you or your audience are interested?

    I really enjoyed this blog Dan as your thoughts on the 27” was spot on, I actually own a Avtex 27” that I use in my coachman laser Xcel 875 and I love it, it meets my needs big time and the sound is brilliant, I have thought about a sound bar but have no need for it.
    Thank you again Dan and I’ll see you on the next blog.

    Great video Dan and perfectly timed as we're looking at new TVs for the caravan. As you know we have a dealer special based on the Alpine 4 so it was good to see it in that van and get an idea of how it would work. Perhaps the 24" is better for us. Thanks again, super helpful 👍

    We have the twin axle Swift with the same TV fixing you showed that lowers down. You can only fit a smaller television in it but very handy as you just pop it back up for travel, no need to remove it from mounts etc.

    We have the Alpine 4 and we have the swivel bracket so you can watch TV in bed or swivel it around to watch in the lounge. We have a 24" TV and it fits comfortably 😃

    Thanks Dan, some thoughts. We use a 28" on the cabinet in the front of the van, it only comes out when we are watching TV, otherwise in a padded bag under a seat, a 2 minute job, so it's not intrusive at all when not in use. The important thing is we can see the text on the TV! Whilst we have a TV socket etc in the front, once you have wifi in the van, with smart TV's a terrestrial signal becomes somewhat academic. Keep up the blogs!

    Our Swift Challenger 650 has a shelf beside the entry door with power (mains & 12v) and TV/Sat outlets that takes our Avtex 24” (actually 23.8”) TV perfectly.
    Any wider and it would protrude beyond the fridge, similar to what you showed in this video, and since we don’t use a bracket on the wall and it just sits on the shelf anything sticking out may get knocked.
    We are considering purchasing the Avtex soundbar to go with this WebOS TV, and as this becomes the base with the supplied bracket we could still use it without needing a bracket.
    Bigger isn’t always better (my wife assures me 🤔) and I fully agree when it comes to caravan TV’s

      Hi - really rate the Avtex sound bar, we’ve had it for ages now - but don’t use the tv on the sound bar unless you’re hanging the Tv. The soundbar attached makes the tv unstable and, there are no feet on the bar either. 👍

      @TheTrudgians thanks for the info. I wonder if there is something I could 3D print, as we don't want to add a bracket to the wall (fridge is directly behind). Maybe someone has already done so? Will look to see if anything is available, if not it CAD time 🙂

    Challenger 560 TV shelf at the side of the door when you enter, 32" Toshiba with dvd fits perfect.You have to get the correct stand as well as some tv's have the twin stands at both ends which won't fit.

    Hi Dan. I don‘t know much about TV setups because we are an iPad family - while everybody has it‘s own we just put it next to us when have rare, shared viewing sessions. BUT if we would have the need for this more often i would go for some of that nice mini beamer and a roll-down canvas. Maybe this will be more eye friendly to you? Of course this would be a preferred night/dark setup. Hopefully these vision glasses getting cheaper so in future we just have to store and handle a pair of glasses only 😂 Best. Andy

    Hi Dan great video as usual but just one question did you fit the bracket? Because we have a Bailey caravan with the same layout as yours it’s the unicorn Cartagena and the tv bracket location is directly next to the fridge but I’m a bit worried about drilling holes so close to the side of the fridge so do you no how much room there is between the wooden side panel and the side of the fridge many thanks Colin

    Don’t let the ariel point dictate where/size your tv, get Apple TV or a Firestick etc to watch tv….yes you’ll need the interweb too but you get many more options 👍🏼👍🏼 PS “the TV is too big” is never the case lol

  • @twistagain1964
    @twistagain1964 7 месяцев назад

    When you say it would be better if smaller by 2”, are you referring to the actual width? Just clarifying because TV sizes are generally given as the diagonal length of the screen.

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  7 месяцев назад

      No, not the actual width but screen size. So being 2 inches smaller will be enough for our caravan, so it’s not inhibited by the door etc.
      Hope that helps.

    Certainly a nice looking screen, with the very thin bezel. I think it’d just about go in our Phoenix as we don’t have the daft media centre. Might be a squeeze height wise. Not a fan of the remotes at all tho.

    Yes it's on the offside, you need the TV to fill the space left when the TV is not fitted. I.e a big hole.

    This is a new release tv and they have chosen full HD and DVD over 4K and Blu-ray/4K Blu-Ray? Seems a odd choice.

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  7 месяцев назад

      Well when you think about it, the amount of data you’d need to stream 4K would be more than most mobile WiFi or campsite hotspots. But, I do agree that the DVD could have been blu-ray.

    • @MacSarah
      @MacSarah 7 месяцев назад

      Good call on the choice of DVD over Blu-ray, but we have sooooo many DVDs it would work for us... I guess Blu-ray players also play DVD though
