- He rose to fame as a Member of the Michigan Wolverines Fab Five of the early 1990s, alongside Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson. He consistently performed and played a big role in Michigan's back to back National Championship appearances. After three years he was drafted by the Washington Bullets and would again join forces with Webber and eventually Rod Strickland. While the Bullets never reached the expectations people hoped for; Howard remained a good consistent player in the NBA during his time with Washington, helping them to a playoff appearance and being named a 1996 NBA All Star. After Washington, he had a few more solid years playing briefly with Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash on the Dallas Mavericks, then the Denver Nuggets and then spending a year alongside Tracy McGrady as a member of the Orlando Magic. But after a decade in the league, he seemed to transition to a bench player overnight, occupying a bench role for the remainder of his career. But he embraced that role and was one of the league's most valuable veteran leaders; and was finally rewarded in 2012 when he won an NBA Championship alongside LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh while playing for the Miami Heat. He would win one more before ending a 19 year career and transitioning to coaching. As his playing days ended with him as one of the underrated players of the 90s and 2000s, but he does hold the distinction of being the only Fab Five Member to win an NBA Title.

Juwan Howard was ahead of his time and today he is coaching players in college
No he's not. Got fired from Michigan for being a douche and a sorry ass coach
He's an assistant coach for the Nets. He got fired
This channel is so underrated. It’s a crime
FACTS
Yess sir! Juwan Howard was legit versatile!
It didn't seem like that watching him in the 1990's and early 2000's. I actually thought he was overrated after signing that big contract with the Bullets
90s college basketball was the shizit
hell yeah
Can’t even say “shit” on this website
Now that they are getting money it's going to get better again I feel that 2000s they couldn't hide the cash as easy to get players an one an done became a thing so If you stayed it was bad but data is much better now I feel players will stay to have. Chance to be higher pick more often to get better only helping both levels 🙏
Facts seemed like every conference was stellar back then…ACC, Big East, Pac-10, Big Ten, SEC, etc,…etc…
@@cap536 AGREED.Plus, you had top level draft picks also, because of the talented players from these good conferences.
I remember I had the spiral notebook in elementary school from Staples with him and Chris Webber on the front in the red bullets jerseys. Great times as a 90s kid 🤣 shout out the Capital center
I been waiting for this one thank you
Need a Josh Smith vid next
I can’t believe that the wizards made him the first $100 million man in NBA history
Still, I’ll admit that he was pretty good 👍
they did, glenn robinson was the highest rookie contact at 10 years 68 million in 1994, juwan was 1996 ..
We’re also waiting for a Kevin Martin Sharpshooter 🎯 video 🙏🏼🫡
Damn i am slippin..... How did i miss this notification??? Darius Miles next? Or how about Lenny Wilkens?
I went to Proviso East HS and saw Juwan Howard play against my hometown star Michael Finley at the Proviso West Highschool Xmas tornament back in 1990 when Juwan was at Chicago Vocational.
🤣I went to Peoria Manual, Class of 1991…we lost to Proviso in the finals, used to see all them guys at the Gus Mackerel.
Used to see him in the P during the Gus Macker street tournaments …our leading player Nate used to have all them guys down, Mike Finely of Proviso East, Juwan from Aurora West, Tom Kleinsmidt of Gordon Tech, all the tops guys were there even Hershey Hawkins who was in the League, good basketball, the best.
I love 90s college basketball
Great video as usual. Please do one on: Charles Oakley , spud Webb, Terry Cummings , George gervin, lisa Leslie, Rebecca lobo,

That Miami deal is an interesting what if. Still don't think they beat the Bulls for either of those last 2 years but it does shake up the East in that post MJ era
Please do a Derek Fisher video, he reminds me of Jalen Brunson.
Solid player. And actually a good journey man, solid utility player.
Can u please do Brendan Haywood. He was an underrated player in the acc and the pros. Please. Love the channel

If the Fab 5 deserve anything, they definitely deserve to be ranked #1 Freshman Class Ever, right?
Chicago in the bldg!!
The fab five is a pop culture
Wonder if he or Patrick Ewing will get another head coaching job in college or NBA after their stints as the head coaches of their alma matters?
Maybe Ewing. Howard got anger management issues.
@@doriandenard5846Ewing was one of the worst coaches in college basketball tho
The days when we could say….Big Ten Baby🤣
Looking at the numbers Howard should’ve got the other the ROTY that year
No.
Doug Christie or perhaps Elden Campbell?
Love Howard, not sure his game would translate to todays game but great guy and great player
I'm still trying to figure out how Michigan lost to North Carolina in National Championship game, when they beat a more talented team in Kentucky in the Final 4.
It was fixed
Yao ming next
Yao is not a "forgotten player" fool
@@latenightnessii it was a joke
Worst long-term contract in Bullets history 🙈🙈🙈

@@leonzaduncan2438 GA got injured. JW didn't. But GA was a bad contract looking back.
@@leonzaduncan2438 Ben Simmons contract is another one
@@lilpenny1982 injured and guns in a locker room
Do Reggie Miller
13th was the highest the #55 best player ever star reggie miller came for mvp
As a wizards/bullets fan we thought he would be a better player than he was. Really only Chris Webber lived up to the hype
The most leveled headed well not as a head coach ijs 🤷🏾♂️
We got his son
We?
I hope Mr Howard put enough of that money away for later. He just blew a great opportunity. He got fired as head coach of Michigan because of his bad temper and inability to get along with his fellow athletic department staff colleagues and his players. A long time well respected trainer resigned because of the toxic environment Howard created.
he wasnt worth it
Juwan got Chris traded, so nah.
I put the fab five in the category of the NWO.
Nah juwan Howard was a solid bum
