I saw Jordan a few months ago in Whole Foods and said I liked his work and he said "Thank you I appreciate that very much" in the most Schlansky tone and delivery. It was perfect.
I saw Jordan at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

I met Jordan at the ice cream event! They were giving away Conan-shaped ice cream and letting you meet Jordan to promote Conan's new show/channel on Samsung TV. I asked Jordan "is this one of your various tasks as an associate producer?" and he chuckled and said "yes apparently so." I also said "you smile a lot more in real life" and he said "it depends on the company you're with" and I almost passed out.
Overall he was really polite with all the fans who lined up to meet him and asked people about themselves, was engaged and attentive. I think he has the self-awareness to not give lectures about coffee and Italy in this setting since lots of people were waiting to meet him, I imagine in a smaller setting he may let loose like he does with Conan 🤣

@@user-lh4yp2lf2m During the 2008 writer's strike, Conan was still producing shows, but couldn't write scripted bits, so he visited with staff in the office. Jordan was one of those visits. Jordan only appeared on the show because of the writer's strike. No strike = No Jordan. His segment was such a hit, they brought him back for planned appearances/bits.

How that new travel show isn’t specifically centered around Conan and Jordan traveling together is just baffling to me lol. It’s so obvious how successful a show built around the two of them would be that it’s just insane not to capitalize on that.
Maybe Jordan's worried that since he doesn't know as much about other countries as Italy, he wouldn't have as much "content" to ramble on about and for Conan to work with
I feel like it would get old real fast. People want their interactions, but the fact that they're only shown in small doses and sprinkled here and there is what makes it work (not for me, I'm kinda meh regarding the whole Jordan/Conan thing, but that's just me, I know most people love it). If an entire show or season were centered around those two, I feel like the shtick would burn fast, and they would have to either completely script their bits, or force situations, which would ruin everything, imo.
It won't get old real fast, we've been doing marathons of Jordan Conan for 2 decades by now 😂

I am actually a lot like Jordan Schlansky myself, so I totally believe that the character Jordan is heavily based on the real Jordan.
I am not quite as super-serious and ultra-pedantic as he is, but I do tend to be very reserved, calm and silent, and I tend to be by myself the majority of the time, so I pretty much act more or less like Jordan Schlansky in everyday life.
I believe that this is relatively common among introverts;
people sometimes think that introverts rarely feel stimulated, but it is actually kind of the other way round:
introverts are _very easily_ stimulated, and this makes them feel overwhelmed if they get a lot of stimulation, and this is why they tend to prefer quiet and peaceful situations, and need a lot of alone time.
I also "get" Jordan. I am an introvert and have ADHD also. I used to have a tendency to go on long tangents in things that really interest me without realizing how it might look to other people. As i grew older I became more self aware that people might not like this and have gotten a bit more reserved. If someone prompts me on a subject of my interest though, there will be a long monologue 😅 I also like to be specific in my speech although I also like random humour.

I had never heard Sona talk about Jordan
Jordan's fondness of Rush was described in his first-ever remote, during the writer's strike of 2008.
i don't think Jordan is that weird. Just doesn't express himself as openly as other people. Also spills out info nuggets from time to time. There are plenty people with that personality type, except Jordan is in sync with Conan's brand of humor and counters him very well.
