  • This episode we didn't find as much as usual, but the snakes we did find made up for it. The highlight was a beautiful and highly venomous Red Headed Krait (Bungarus flaviceps).

    Dude, the way you handle snakes is absolutely insane. I mean that in the nicest way possible. Reptile owners are like " look at how calm this snake is", when really it's been their pet for 10 years and are super tame, so you don't truly see real attitude a snake would normally have. But you handle WILD animals, that probably never been handled before, and they look super calm. If I want to convince someone that snakes are not as bad as people say they are, and that they shouldn't be feared, but still respected. This is the content I would show 100%. Please stay safe, your content is amazing. You just made yourself and new subscriber

    Bro I don't think it was red headed krait. I guess it was red necked keelback. Which is highly venomous and poisonous both. Kraits normally can crawl up with the support of its own body but this snake didn't show any attempt. I am not an expert though, I may be wrong.

    where do you stand on the canebrake rattlesnake situation(do you think that the canebrake is just a color locality or a subspecies of the timber rattlesnake)?

  • @11buleria
    @11buleria 2 года назад

    I paint venomous snakes. I incorporate them in my paintings many times. The red headed krait is one beautiful snake. I have gotten it confused with the Malayan corral snake. The corral snake has blue on it besides red and black, right?

    • @DAVIDSFEED
      @DAVIDSFEED  2 года назад

      So there’s a few differences: the krait has a somewhat triangular body shape, with a distinct ridge along the spine, the blue coral has an almost perfectly cylindrical body. In proportion to the overall length, the blue coral also has a much smaller head which is indistinct from the neck. Perhaps the biggest difference, is that the venter of the blue coral is entirely bright red, whereas the krait has a white / cream underside. Not all blue corals are actually blue, some are just blackish similar to this krait.

    Dude I nearly passed out when my Western Hognose bit me with a feeding bite and decided to have a good chew to work in some venom, my hand swelled up and I felt a little bit sick. My fault entirely due to the sent of fuzzys on me. That crait is a different level of dangerous, honestly m8 my arse goes like a rabbit's nose twitching when you handle highly venomous snakes.
    Please Dude, be careful.

    • @mewho7903
      @mewho7903 2 года назад +1

      not many realize hognose are venomous cuz the venom is so mild but yeah, rear fanged venomous iirc. nothing thats gonna require hospitalization unless someones allergic. just be careful and dont let em chew on u if they do bite. i make it a point not to let even my non venomous bite me. reading body language at all times and reacting, turning em, altering their defensiveness. has worked like a charm on my amazon tree boa :)
