I need some help. As someone who is not familiar with the bullsh*t, clique-y language of the progressive left, what does 'polyphobic' mean? P.S. My interest goes as far as this comment. So I'm not searching for it.
Fear of many things. But in the context they were referring to, it's anti-polyamory (a plus-one invitation discriminates against people who have more than one significant other).
I'm left of progressive left but that seems like an extreme term. Unironically, polyamorous partnerships in real life, have ways to sort out that type of thing.

And you're right about there being ways to sort that thing out, but I wonder if that's because most polyamorous relationships aren't co-equal polycules (where everyone is equally involved with everyone else) or where a single person has multiple 'equal' partners, but rather where there are two people who are primary partners and have relationships with other people. Perhaps it's also because most poly people aren't out socially, so they present in social situations as a monogamous couple.

And calling yourself a "normie" and referring to traditional, supposedly monogamous relationships as "normal" is a really douchey way to communicate. Drop the word "normal" and replace it with "typical" and in just about any context you'll sound a lot less gross.
