Here it is, the new project Mini. Found on E-bay but I lost the auction only to later find the higher bidder messed the seller around so it was offered to the next highest bidder...... Me. The Mini is a 1997 Rover Cooper MPI and has been off the road in a garage since 2007! It's what some might call a barn find.
In this update I seam seal and stonechip the sills and boot floor with Upol Gravitex and Upol Grey stripe

Good content as always Keith.
I'm with you Keith.. mentally, always must start with a clean shop. I look forward to all the seam sealing and stone chipping.. can't imagine the mess just yet...
Nice
Another cracking update on sprout 👍 keeps me motivated for the next chance I get to carry on with my weldathon
great job so far
Great stuff Keith, doing the jobs you love to hate! Looking good 😊
Nice update Keith, your nearly there now 👍
Great video buddy. Can’t wait to see some more paint on the mini. It’s coming together so well 👍
Looking good old bean 😀
👍👍😎😎
2:50 seconds into it and Keith’s first mega tip.... to cut if his tip...on his brush to make it stiffer. I will be doing that when I come to Seam seal anything in the future... now to continue watching....
Surprised you havent invested in a roll over jig given the amount of work you have put in on Sprout. Still looking good 👍👍
With hindsight that would probably have been the best option
Good old wax oil 👌
My OCD kicked in when the underside of the door came into frame. Was that rust bubbles on it? 😨 😜
Looking good. I bet you can't wait to finish it.
Yeah I need to do some work on the doors, that is probably the worst part
Back to the standard intro, probably for the best. Although I commend your bravery on the last intro. Is it just bare metal then, 2 coat etch primer then 2 coat stone chip? Or what other sort of paint are you putting on before stone chip mate?
I cant quite remember, think it was 1 coat of etch, 1 coat of normal primer then stone chip Gravitex
@@classicminiworkshop Cheers Keith, thinking if I can do any of the painting lacking a compressor, Ed
Hi Keith. Is it possible to install coilovers in place of place of the shocks to improve the ride? Would you have to reinforce the shock towers? I know you can order custom spring rates, and adjust the ride height. I am looking into putting B16 turbo into a minivan like Alex Toons. The front subframe has a custom suspension with coilovers. I do not want to run a Minivan slammed to the floor like they do in the states. Just a sensible ride height with a comfortable ride. What's your opinion?
Yes you can fit coil over but you really need to do front and rear. I’ve not seen anyone strengthen the arches.
All car make are going to start to have delays with parts due to Coronavirus 😷
