Viewing this video is like taking a trip back in time to the second half of the 1980s, when I was in high school. And it looks like the band was still able to belt it out powerfully years later. I’m impressed.

Rudy DUEE I have known Joey Tempest and Europe since before they signed their first recording contract in 1982. Believe me, they are very much a real band and they most definitely sing and play the music themselves.
I love Europe BUT their are some times in the early years on TV spots and such where its all lip synched and played from the studio album. Their concerts are all real from what ive seen and know though

@Adol666, that is because they were required by the producers to do it that way. They hated every minute of it too because they don't like doing playback. But the TV stations they were on required it because of the decibel levels.

Well, considering that it was John Norum who recorded the original solo for the album to start with I think he can do with it what he pleases. Personally, I like this style better than he originally did it. I love the entire revamp of Europe.
The original solo was commercialized and catered to the record label and what they wanted instead of what the band wanted. That is one of the reasons Norum left the band after the first leg of The Final Countdown tour. And Norum can do the solo correctly considering he is the one who originally did the solo to start with.
Seeing as how John Norum created the original solo in the first place, he can do with it as he pleases. Plenty of old concert footage where he plays it as the recording. Here, he chooses not to. Lots of artists do that. Especially a certain other guitarist from Sweden...
