I flip cars and this fixed my car. Just bought a 2008 Liberty from auction and the transmssion wouldn't shift. Seemed to be stuck in 3rd gear. Code showed P0731 gear 1 incorrect ratio. Saw this video and went out and checked that sensor and sure enough, it was broken. Tried to pull the connector off and the whole thing separated with broken wires from the mag coil internally. Just installed a new sensor and she's shifting like a champ. Clearly this is why this car ended up not being driven much the last 2 years by the previous owner. Time to fix everything else and paint it and sell it. Thx for posting!
Oh man that is awesome ! Now you gonna get more out of your flip for a fully functional jeep! Glad it helped and thank you for your comment! Much appreciated 🙏
I have a 2006 jeep commander 3.7
It’s showing codes P0732,P0300,P0302 any advice on what I should fix??
I have a 2001 dodge dakota sport 4.7l 45rfe transmission, I keep getting p0720, p0715, p0733 only when I am driving slow traffic. But if i shut it off delete the codes and start driving again it all goes away till i hit slow traffic again, changed out the input/output sensors, the solenoid pack, new fluid and filters. What else could be the problem.
Hello, I have a BMW E39 540I ZF5HP24, a problem with the automatic transmission. On the first start, the car is in a normal temperature, it works fine, and after a distance, the transmission heats up and shows these codes P0733 / P0732. The transmission does not perform the gears and gets stuck in the fifth gear only when the car warms up and when it is cold does it work well? of help please
How does the part look like?
Jeep commander 2007 I got the same problem I changed the 2 senors and it's not working what can I do ?????
Hi! I'm having this PO 717 code and is the same input & out speed transmission sensors but I do not find this sensor is for a 07 Jeep Commander 3.7L 4x4 V6 any advice or opinion will help appreciate it.
I'm not sure I understand what the question is?
Odd thing is that my jeep which is an o6 with a 3.7 engine doesnt have these on the trans. Do you know why I was going to give it a try but didnt see any do you happen to know the location of the trans speed sensor on a 06 commander?
I am sorry, but I do not....
I have an 08 ram 3.7l I'm having p1790 and p0733 come up. It does have a 42rle, could this be the same issue?
Does it have more less the same symptoms? Because it very well could be if it does
I have a 2011 Ram Laramie 1500 (5.7 hemi 4x4) and Im getting three codes, P000b , P0016, and P0733. Could this be a sensor code? (Im hoping) I will explain whats going on.
As Im driving, it starts off in 1st perfect, then switches into 2nd perfect, but when if goes to switch into 3rd in takes an extra second or two, then it throws me into limp mode, (4th gear) and thats it, but if i keep it in manual mode, and set the dial to gear 2 i can drive locally, but wont be able to go past 35. Im hoping i don’t need a rebuilt or new transmission.
Thanks for the video
Personally I would lean toward replacing the cheap sensors first since its the cheapest route. If the wires to the sensor look good and you install the new sensor it may be time for a rebuild. A rebuild is over $1000 so i would try the sensors first
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations the 16 code is camshaft position sensor, the 0b is tge lower crankshaft code, and the 733 code is 3rd gear ratio code, it boggles my mind why them three codes would pop up at once, my ram usually runs like a champ, i baby it, and always keep the maintenance up to date.
Just in case it matters Im at 168k mileage.
@@TheStudderman one of those will be the main cause of the problem. Not all 3. So say for example you have a bad coil. You might also have some transmission issues and codes where it doesn't wanna shift well and it all falls back to the engine is not running properly and its causing other parts to run bad hence causing the transmission to feel like it has problems. But in reality the only problem was the coil.
I wonder if this is what's wrong with mine. I have the same codes it drives for a mile then nothing. Just revs and no movement. I have to stop shit the car off and wait a couple of minutes before it goes again only to do the same thing limped it all the way home today like this. I hope this is the fix it's worth the 30 bucks to try.
Hopefully your clutches are not wiped out...
Mine is a 2006 Jeep commander 3.7 also doing that and I’m not sure what to fix on it
@@brittanyjo7609 if you have the exact same symptoms and codes, there is a high chance it will be the same things I changed
I have a 2006 Grand cherokee, could the wheel speed sensor (left front) cause incorrect gear ratio. Having same problem have 1-4 incorrect ratio and bad wheel speed sensor. Please help
Yes very likely. And the wheel speed sensor being faulty will cause your ABS brakes to experience occasional issues
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations Yes, the Abs, traction control and Esp/bas light is on. Hooked my reader and only codes are gear ratio incorrect and wheel speed sensor. Other than a bad spark plug or coil pack.
@@rickyparker7589 replace the bad coil giving you issues before going into the other sensors. Bad coils can give you transmission like issues that can lead you to believe your transmission is going bad when in reality it is just an engine misfire causing the symptom.
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations okay well thank you for the information! I really appreciate it!
@@rickyparker7589 no problem at all. Hope it helped you out
i have 2017 jeep GC zf8hp50 transmission with p0731 code what could be?
Could be the exact same problem as this one. A speed sensor
I'm having exact issue on 07 Jeep Wrangler. Only 91k miles. Code P0731.
What did you do to fix the problem? My 2098 Jeep wrangler now has this problem
@@hammur2323 Need new transmission.
Hi there I hope you can help me. I bought the speed sensor online but the they look the same there isn't any thing that show me which is the in put and which is the outlet. Is there any difference on where they go?
2013 Dodge RAM 2500 shows that they are the same sensor.
Yes. Wey need a a 3.7 liter, this isn't the dame jeep. It thoes not have the dame parte.
What if I already changed those 2 sensors and it still does the same thing?
I got the same problem I changed the 2 senors and it's not working what can I do ?????
@@elzacatecas3353 I don't know yet☹️
@@KRALTAIR47 what’s the solution guys 😅
P0700, P0732,33,34, P0876… mechanic said it needs a new tranny, and anything else I do is a waste of time and money.. 545rfe 05 dakota 4.7L
Putting those low cost sensors is never a waste of money. Reason I say this is because they generally will fail before the transmission itself does. I rather spend $60 dollars over $1200 any day lol 😆 its a chance you can take that can end up being the problem and save yourself a lot of money. If in the end they end up not being it, well its getting rebuilt anyway so needed the new sensors anyways to get the rebuild done.
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations $1,200…… bro… I got quoted $2,500 for a used tranny and $4,000 for a reman……
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations they told me there was metal “shavings” in my transmission so I asked if they could put a new gasket on my pan since it doesn’t have a drain plug. They asked me “what are you talking about?”. Then told me they got a sample from pumping some out where my dipstick goes.. I really don’t trust this place but I was nice…
@@lescobrandon8162 daaam, even more reason why I would put them $60 bucks worth of sensors lol. Just saying. But yea sorry, I was speaking based off of prices when I remove the transmission and take them to a friend who owns a transmission shop. Thats the typical cost
@@lescobrandon8162 there is always metallic like shavings in transmission fluid. They might be trying to upsell a rebuild and they aren't even gonna perform one. I would get a second opinion
Mine broke
