What Happens if you FILL EVERY GRAVE in The Elder Scrolls Oblivion: Shivering Isles Graveyard?

- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion's famous DLC the Shivering Isles, hosts a hidden disturbing new feature...
New Sheoth Graveyard is a landmark slightly southwest of New Sheoth, containing generated custom tombstones for deceased NPCs.
When you first arrive in the Shivering Isles there are already eight graves for non-characters in place (denoted below by not having a link). As you complete quests or "unlawful" activities, those who die gain a tombstone with a custom epitaph in the Graveyard.

This must have taken a LOT of time and effort man.. dang

The fact that they added gravestones for all these NPC'S that were never supposed to be killable really is a nice touch. It shows that they know what kind of sick freaks their fans will be when they are given free access to the console.

One of my favorite Shivering Isles easter eggs, is if you complete the Shivering Isles quest line BEFORE going to pray at the Shegorath shrine in Oblivion to get the "Wabbajack", there's a different dialogue where Haskill talks back to you saying "Praying to yourself, my Lord? That's not a good sign. Or perhaps it is. Prince of Madness and all that."
Thats amazing! Posting to instagram
yup, did just that, got a good laugh, then realise soon i will become the babling madness of a entity that is sheogorath

""In Memory of Una Armina, who was she again?"
I’ve played both Oblivion and Skyrim extensively and my mind always goes back to Oblivion with fond memories more than Skyrim.
The setting, characters & stories had a particular charm
Skyrim is an interesting game, but Oblivion is the funniest game I have ever played
I never got to play oblivion when I came out but I hear a LOT of players echo this sentiment. Granted, Skyrim is great fun, especially with so many mods, DLCs, etc., yet no matter what they add, they’ll never capture the same “old school rpg” vibe that Oblivion, and even Morrowind seem to still possess in retrospect. You spend more on the graphics… you spend less on the story 😕
@@DarkLOREDash SO many older RPGs have this, you’d be surprised. For all their pixelated 64 bit models there are some true gems in that ps1-ps2 era “golden age”

This DLC had more personality then 80% of Skyrim, this coming from a guy who loved it.
That's s lie.
I personally enjoyed the shivering isles a lot more than Skyrim and the other stuff in oblivion. I would have loved more content set inside this realm.
I never really noticed the lack of personality in the characters until I played some mod quests people made, and the voice actors in those gave so much more emotion.
Skyrim's DLC has slightly better personality but even that is debatable
@@ThatRandomDude204 Please tell me which Skyrim DLC had "more personality" than the Shivering Isles.. like who and what are you thinking of that beats Lord Sheogorath himself, Haskill and the towns and denizens of Mania and Dementia?
The architecture of New Sheoth is really something. From the psychedelic stainglass to the arched windows and doorways, the colorfull flowers and mushrooms dotting the walls and streets.
They really went wild with that one, absolutely love what this creative freedom has given us, players; and I can't even imagine how fun it must've been for the devs!
I wish Dark Lore would do a video about it.
The funny thing is, in Morrowind there's a questline where you help a mage build a magical flying ship so Tove isn't totally crazy just sadly very misguided since obviously calipers and tongs are not gonna make a flying ship.
Yet.
Is that the same air ship that crashes into solstheim and gets found by the dragonborn?
I’m shocked i’ve never once heard of this feature even after all these years
I was too when I stumbled upon it!
This video reminds me how dumb it was for Bethesda to hire only 8 voice actors. 2 of which were Sean Bean and Patrick Stewart.
Still the best elder scrolls game though 😂
Well if they hired more Voice actors we might not have gotten Wes Johnson as sheogorath (yes he did return in skyrim who did have more VAs but I feel like at that point he was sheogorath that they couldn't NOT have him)
Oblivion was so good.
Agree
@@DarkLOREDashhey a question, what mods do you use?😊
For all the hate on Skyrim, I think most people forgot that Oblivion also had a ton of copy pasted dungeons as well. Shivering Isles was a hundred times better than any other content for Oblivion including most of the main game.
True, Skyrim is overrated, and dungeons are even better in Skyrim, lot of them have his own backstories, personally love them both equally, and Shiverig islel indeed is goat

Wish they would remaster this game and morrowind instead we just get another skyrim release don't get me wrong i love skyrim but these games r awesome and need some love
Lucky we have it in the form of Skyblivion 😍
@@DarkLOREDash I totally agree just wish they would show the same amount of love to arguably better games (storyline and world) than skyrim if those games ever were remastered and brought to a more modern level it would blow skyrim out of the water. Hands down the older games were way better. Skyrim felt the best gameplay wise but it lacked the soul and creativity i felt the others had its missing the rpg element and heroes journey the other games had. Skyrim was to rushed and made u to op u barely felt like you earned anything it was just handed to u So to speak. The modern power fantasy rpg doesn't allow depth like the older true rpgs do in my opinion. The ideal game elder scrolls game is if they somehow recaptured the soul of morrowind and oblivion and gave us the depth of choice and characters that say an old bioware offered and developed it into an immersive elder scrolls setting...or maybe have obsidion and bethesda co-op an elder scrolls game there is a reason why fallout new vegas was praised so much...heres hoping for the future and here is a cheer for the amazing modders that do much of that for one of the best fantasy worlds ever created.
@Cody Allen most likely
@@christopherclanton5961 That's why I do prefer Skyblivion project to an official Bethesda remaster. The latter would be a lame ass graphical improvement. Skyblivion, in comparison, is putting so much love into it, enhancing the landscapes, the armor and weapon sets... And even if it takes them many years, I can see the project progress quite well since its humble beginnings and I'm pretty sure it will be completed at some point.
@Cody Allen I think they try to add as much as they can, but they have limited resources. They already said in a stream that re-implementing the persuasion minigame was too much work, so instead they used the Skyrim dialogue skillcheck system and maybe other things to emulate how persuasion worked. But for spell crafting, it's so emblematic that, if I remember correctly, they have people working on a way to implement it. As for athletics and acrobatics, I think they wont be in the game. Those skills were kinda useless anyway.
Anyone else watch the whole thing thinking there was actually going to be something that happens when you fill all the graves?

Sheogorath was originally voiced as the male elves originally before the shivering isles dlc. Was weird that they changed it and that it stuck. Figured the voice was tied to the fellow who founded the shrine in the first place, ate a bosmer there-saw our lord in the vomitous. Not something most are aware of or even talk about since it isn't terribly important. Just another fact ^_-
FOUND ORINTHAL
You can still hear the Original voice if you never start the shivering isles I actually like that the voice and even lines change (sheogorath can actually chastise the player if you are on a a quest for him iirc) based on your progress and if you are the mad God haskill will talk to you and say things like "praying to yourself lord sheogorath"

i find it funny that Earil says all stuff about how time will effect you only for you to become sheogorath and look the same forever.
Could you maybe do a video on recurring characters in fallout
That's a clever idea!!
Its been so long since I played Oblivion... I installed Skyrim again yesterday to play around... but seeing this, it seems the writing and characters were much more interesting than the Skyrim ones.
The Shivering Isles has 0 uninteresting named NPCs. This DLC is great, every single character is completely unique. Mostly because of the whole madness theme, but they really went above and beyond here.
Skyrim has some clever writing in it, too. Unfortunately, a lot of Skyrim's writing talent was much less front-and-center than in earlier games. It's there in a lot of smaller ways, like in side quests, subtext, books, and in visual story telling.
I think that Oblivion's strategy is... Mixed? It's definitely more memorable, but I think that why they went away from that with Skyrim was because putting all the character front and center means that you are showcasing all of the bad along with the good, and there's a lot of _horrible_ dialogue in Oblivion. I do think they swung too far the other way with Skyrim, though.

I like how most of these characters are completely insane and then some are just alcoholics or feminine men
shivering isles is the perfect example how open world games shouldn't be too big
a small world with many reactions to the player or sometimes just interactions between npcs is infinetly better than a huge world that feels empty
I really loved how gothic 2 went about it with the main story split up in chapters and in each chapter events happened throughout the world.. and not just like "oh no the orcs are coming, save us!" but also a lot like "my wife fell ill, can you get her medicine?"
it's like most open world games have npcs in an area to have the player run down a check list of fulfilling their quests and then never have a reason to talk to them again with no consequences on how you resolved a quest either most of the time (other than quest reward)
The main thing I've learned from this is you can indeed Enrage Sheogorath. Whenever I snag another copy of Oblivion, I'll do just that. Loved the Shivering Isles.
There is a punishment for being a murderer, you do not get the knights of hte nine armor, I do not know if this extends to the shivering isles please give a confirmation as I do not risk it as infamy is difficult to remove in some cases.
Also fun fact, there is a different quest giver for the sheogorath shrine depending on whether or not you become sheogorath or not, before becoming, you get Sheogorath, after becoming the prince of madness you get Haskil who apologizes for not giving the wabbajack to you.
Can't you just do the pilgrimage again?
@@Gr3nadgr3gory I am not sure, I believe one playthrough I was being experimental, but the shrines wont give you a blessing, so not sure how to remove infamy, also fun fact, there are more knights alters than there are on the paper map you are given.
