      Sin alone is desirable for us. It will destroy us, but that doesn’t make it less attractive. Demons hate us, cause we can receive forgiveness and return to our Father, but that doesn’t mean they won’t use us for their aims. But make no mistake: you are not favored by the enemy. There is no empathy, no compassion, no love. Demons seek our destruction to only stand against God. Never accept anything from them. They will deliver what they promise, but what is 80-120 years of prosperity to an eternal existence of agony and despair in Hell?

      But fighting against an all powerful God is a instant lose anyway, that's the problem with this whole premise. "That's why he had to cheat"... Cheat what? His own rules that he made up himself and can change at any time? That's not cheating, that's how it works. There is no winning against an all powerful force. The only reason any humans "rebel" against God is because they think he's not real. The demon is a true believer. Truer than the most convicted priest. He knows God exists and is all powerful and pretty much the opposite of merciful, for a fact, and yet still chooses to fight against him? That makes the demon the dumbest entity in existence.

      Demons are shown to have to obey God's command, they are his creation whether they like that they are or not. Read Scripture.
      In Job, The Satan literally has to go to God and ask him if he can trouble Job. Why? Because Job is his, and Satan doesn't just get to do what he wants with God's servents without God allowing it to come to pass.

Worship and obeying every command supposedly given by whatever this creature/being you refer to seems rather odd and childish. To worship something and live by what they deem is correct sounds very much like a form of slavery to me - regardless of how high or low you might consider it to be.

    Why did this man not get an academy award? His depiction from a fallen angel perspective is spot on. Lucifer's downfall and the War in Heaven actually began by Lucifer not doing one little thing. Going to and talking WITH God. A simple "Father, I seek knowledge, guidance and direction on OUR free will. Can you please help me to understand it in your grand scheme of things"? I know God would have sat him down and thoroughly informed him. "Your free will is no less than that of man's, the difference is, you were all created sinless, perfect, and knowledgeable about Heaven and all things in the universes. You can choose to not love and worship me of that free will. But the consequences of that choice will be the loss of my Grace within you and expellment from Heaven for eternity. Choices have consequences. I cannot allow you to choose not to love and worship me as your creator, then allow you to come dine at heavens table and partake of heavens gifts. That is your choice". Personally, I somehow feel Lucifer did have this conversation with God, but upon leaving Gods throne room, in his way back to his chambers, decided HE would take over Gods throne and rewrite the rules. I don't think he informed his followers of that conversation between he and God. To give them the definition of their free will as God gave to him and it's consequences. So they could use THEIR free will whether or not to follow Lucifer or not. I honestly think he kept that from his followers. So he could continue to manipulate them for his plans.

The former Angels cast down from heaven that roam the earth in invisible spiritual form absolutely loathe we humans. They hate our guts with a passion. They want nothing more than humans join them in Hell on judgement day for eternity. If that's not scary enough for you I don't know what else on earth would be? Demons, also called unclean spirits are extremely real. 😉

    • @redfaux74
      @redfaux74 2 месяца назад

      @@nathanharris5197 - As a minister, I don't think it was scary at all. The Bible calls them devils. Demons is actually a Chinese reference that gives them eternality. And they are not eternal. They had a beginning.
      Devils, not just humans pretending to be possessed, usually show some kind of evidence, not just talking, that they are supernatural in origin. They don't acknowledge the deity of Christ unless compelled to by the Holy Spirit.
      I'm just saying the clip shown did not scare me at all. Any person admitted to a psychiatric institution could make something like this up.

    • @avenger4027
      @avenger4027 2 месяца назад +1

      @@redfaux74 "Demons" are the same word as "daevas" - formerly a word for supernatural entities considered good, until people that knew what these monstrous beings truly were (such as Zarathustra and the Christians) inadvertedly changed the definition of the words to signify malevolent and hostile supernatural beings (and the wider cultures being convinced of it).
      "That they are supernatural in origin" - that's the old way of doing things. They ceased doing that already for centuries. Demons - like all creatures - are capable of mistakes. And they are also capable of learning from them. They used to create false religions by giving genuine supernatural powers to some people, all for the purpose of spawning and corrupting whole cultures - but that MO didn't work out in the end. First off, God always sent something to wipe that effort out - and there were human rebels, like Zarathustra, who, despite even not knowing God, were still disgusted with the sheer evil of these creatures.
      So, demons turned solely to mental manipulation. If a human being sins even once without repentance, it is damned and the demons have that as their win condition. Stupidly easy to achieve, too. Just make up a stupid philosophy that would trap people and make them believe absurdities and deny the good religion. So why would they use supernatural powers openly? That's just more risk for no good reason - and it's not required to damn a person. Take, for example, the demons' greatest "triumph" - Marxism. All it took was whispering lies into a few European pseudo-intellectuals over the course of two centuries and voila - roughly a hundred million people are dead, a lot are impoverished and even more are damned. Not an ounce of supernatural power required - and that ideology literally killed more people in one century than God did since the expulsion of humanity from Eden/Airyanem Vaejo.
      Yes, one of the only means to truly reveal a demon - despite their "new" modus operandi - is to target their innate hatred of all that is good. Your garden-variety schizophreniacs don't have a uniform apoplectic reactions to Christian symbolism, faith and rituals. Another method is the demon's own pride - it will most often want to admit what it really is.

    "Make no mistake, James...You're no Carpentar"
    My favorite line of the film - insults James, praises Jesus (begrudgingly) and delivers the line with the perfect amount of intensity and solemnity.
    The fact that he cannot bring himself to call Jesus by name because he hates him so much is another nod of respect to Jesus. He also calls God "the Enemy" the entire film, which is hilarious, and the hatred is so palpable.
    This film was great and if it wasn't for the subject matter being too pro Christian for Hollywood, it would have been even more popular and Flanery would have grabbed at least an Academy Award nod. So many actors have taken a stab at the crazy inmate with multiple personalities or a bizarre philosophy and few have nailed it (Ed Norton in Primal Fear...Hopkins playing Hannibal Lector come to mind) to the degree that Sean Patrick Flanery does. The understated confidence while playing this demon as a near all knowing, highly intelligent, sometimes emotional and very purposeful entity is excellent.

    I find it funny people hating on this movie purely cause it shows demons exactly as they are according to Christian mythos, deceiving, resentful, manipulative but also extremely weak in the face of God and the divine.
    No, demons are not like in Hazbin Hotel, the show Lucifer, or any other modern take where they make demons the underdog rebels against a cruel system. Demons are exactly what is being shown in this movie, and if you don't like that it is within your right, but this is one of the most realistic and respectful takes on it in recent years.
    And on another note, for those who say this is propaganda or whatever, there have been years that Hollywood steals concepts and elements of Christianity to spread their own agenda and worldviews, although they are indeed infamous for doing that to other cultures and mythos, however the one time that people actually take care to do something that goes according to the original thing, all of sudden people take issue with it claiming is propaganda...So let me ask you something: When Hollywood makes demons and Lucifer look good while God is bad, is that an agenda also? Or is it just creative liberty? Cause in the original source where they are taking this, demons are not the good guys. Think about it before you answer.

    The demons fear Jesus so they don't Say His Holy Name because Jesus is God and Hearing About Jesus fills them with grief and despair because they rebelled against Him. One asks why the demons can't be forgiven and the demons as institutors of sin willfully blinded themselves to the reason why that they can't be forgiven. If the demons including the devil stopped causing sin then that's different but the point is they can't stop and they don't want to stop and someone doesn't stop or Confess or for a lack of a better word have a Conscience then The Grace of Jesus Christ can't be manifested in them.

    This is interesting. In another clip that I have seen, the demon accuses God of creating the angels with free will and then making them be His slaves, then casting out the rebel angels (demons) when they rebelled. He's basically accusing God of acting like Victor Frankenstein, who created a living being only to reject it when it did not please him. That action arguably made Frankenstein's creature a monster more than Frankenstein's own clumsy cobbling it together did. But Victor Frankenstein made his creature to see if he could take the power of giving life. He never stopped to think about whether or not he should. God would already have known that He had that power, and no one but He could choose whether or not it was right. But if God wanted yes-men who would kowtow to Him, why would God have given them free will in the first place? It seems like self-sabotage. You could say that God is needy, and wanted creatures who would love Him, and that love has to be freely chosen in order to be real. But that implies that the defining characteristics of love are beyond God, and out of His control. If there was no one before God, who else defined love? And then, if God Himself defined love according to His own character, then God had to act according to His own character and give His creations freedom of will. And would it not be right, then, for his creations to thank Him for their existence and for freedom of will. Is it not right also that there would be consequences for rejecting Him? Would you want to have someone in your house who hated you? How do we know that God didn't try to woo them back?

    • @Sam-fq5qu
      @Sam-fq5qu 4 месяца назад +6

      It only seems like self-sabotage from the perspective of a being whose knowledge, time and awareness is limited. Cause you have no idea of knowing for sure how things will play out at the very end.
      If you're reading a story from a book that is still being written in the early stages, how do you expect to know the ending? Only the author of the book would know.

    I have watched this over and over since learning of it's existence. I find it extremely difficult to believe that James made his final decision on the mental state of this prisoner and didn't even entertain the possibility that something otherworldly was taking place inspite of his personal beliefs because ...........
    A) knowledge that Nefarious has of James life from childhood to the very moments their interview takes place (think when he asks where is Melanie and what is she up to right now ? Abortion monolog.
    B) How a supposed max security prisoner who has been speaking with a totally different Doctor up until this very moment could possibly be able to predict said doc would do what he did and then cause these two to meet/interview on a days notice and be so prepared and have all this information about James.
    And the list goes on to anyone who has seen it and really listened and watched all the little signs here and there. Easily one of the best films i have ever seen and quite possibly the best acting performance i have seen. (Sean Patrick Flannery).
    I just find a lot of comments who have been left by those who entertain and have a belief/faith of a chosen religion and yet will come to these shorts and rant and rave how this or that isn't the right words or God can do this that the other when at no time ever does the film make any statements WHATSOEVER of being based around supposed real events and it is a work of pure (amazing) fiction. I suppose that kind of points to the possibility that those leaving the comments simply can't appreciate fiction when it is based around their belief systems and is perhaps even very presumptuous and arrogant no?
    Flame on or leave words of wisdom as you so choose to. 😉😉

They realize there are theological truths sprinkled in, but they don't have the firm base knowledge to even pick them out, let alone refute them with a compelling argument of their own, so they rage and parrot the one liners their parents taught them to say, which isn't even a true belief. One liners won't get them to heaven. They just want that pat on the head that they're being a good boy. If you're going to believe something, at least understand why you believe in it.

    The Greatest Trick the Devil Ever Pulled Was Convincing the World He Didn’t Exist. that is the entire point of this movie. modern society doesn't believe he exists, hell exists or demons exist and therefore has won.

    The real problem is that freewill isn't free - one must suffer certain slings and arrows to truly understand its parameters. If you're spiritually strong and loving, you can accept these struggles with an open and patient heart. If you're selfish and weak, all struggle is magnified pain. What the Christ revealed in a time of gladiators and vomitoriums is that true strength comes from the power of forgiveness and that true love is unrequited sacrifice. High lessons indeed.

    • @gstrikr7
      @gstrikr7 4 месяца назад

      Free will was never a problem. It is a gift we have and share with the Angels.
      You cannot call a gift of God since Creation a problem.
      The problem is when people choose to selfish with their free will, and not use it as intended: to will the good of others.

    • @mrkiky
      @mrkiky 4 месяца назад

      @@gstrikr7 If will was truly free, then there would be no being selfish. Free means free. It means you choose what you do and you do what you want. If there are any restrictions on that, then your will is not free. That's just how those words work and that's what they mean. "Not use it as intended"... if it's free, there is no "as intended" there is only "as you want". Please understand that this is what the word "free" means. Like if you buy a chair, it is yours, you're free to do with it as you like. There is no "as intended". If I want, I can chop my chair into pieces and use it as fire wood. The seller isn't gonna persecute me because I didn't use it "as intended".
      After understanding this, you can draw the conclusion that if you don't pick the choices God wants you to pick, you're evil, then the obvious conclusion to be drawn is that truely free will is by nature evil. So if God wanted us to have free will it means he wanted us to be evil.

    While the budget is still extremely low compared to a “standard mainstream” film, some of these scenes are pretty captivating. And while the “demon’s” body actions are twitchy & distracting, I think it fits for the story.
    Why he’s being nervous in the psychologist’s presence is a strange thing. The demon shows both extreme terror & contempt when the chaplain shows makes sense for he is dedicated to deliver Jehovah’s message. The psychologist? He’s merely an agnostic looking for that one thing which will discredit the demon. But he can’t because, as an agnostic & a medical specialist, he can’t see that he’s in a spiritual war & logic can’t win in such an arena…🤔
