In the past, the GIB bidding and play was totally deterministic, meaning a sequence of actions would be repeated be the robots exactly the same way given the same situation. This is not the case anymore, e.g. we see different leads after the same auction. This makes human action less comparable, and increases the influence of luck.

The thumbnail for this video is hilarious.

On board 7 what is your criteria for opening hands? I used the rule of 20, and since we only have 12 hcp and poor shape I passed (and got a bad score when it was passed out). I feel like nonvul I would open but since I was vul I passed.

Board 5 with your 2D opener your partner will double their three club when you open 1D and rebid 2D.

Yep, this was an exception to my policy of aggressive 2D openers against the bots. I was 3CWX-2.

#3 dropping the K instead of the Q goads a diamond shift. Completely different hand at that point. Any reason you chose one over the other?

I feel like dropping the king fully reveals the heart suit as they know I have at least two so I didn't want to do that.

Definitely been a GIB upgrade. There’s more deceit in their play and their leads have changed. They would rarely lead from an unprotected honour, now it’s quite common.

Not sure I would call it an upgrade. See cashing the heart on #7.
