I was at this game, as a McNeese fan. It still hurts every time i see it. Still to this day that is the loudest roar of a stadium I have ever heard. The sold out stadium was dead silent the whole game until that point.
i don't know this to be correct, but i believe mcneese was a top ranked fcs opponent back then. we would 100% lose to good fcs teams these days, without a doubt
Yeah holy shit that was crazy. They went 10-3 the year prior, losing in the FCS championship, admittedly went 6-5 that same season they played us, but then went undefeated the next season until they lost in the second round of the playoffs. No sarcasm, though, that's consistent success and high(er) level football (than their competition)
@@NickTV12 wrong they lost to Jacksonville State in second round then they lost to Eastern Washington then they lost to Towson then they lost to North Dakota State in FCS Championship
Really Nebraska? Mcneese St? I totally get it. I mean I enjoy listening to opponents audio with the disappointment and all. Like the 2010 Big 12 Championship Game for instance. But to need a last second td to eek out a W against Mcneese St. That's just bush league. Lol
I’m actually stunned that one of the fans who post those “Greatest Moments in Nebraska History” videos hasn’t put up a clip asserting THIS was the most spectacular moment in Cornhusker history.
Mcneese state was a national championship level fcs team year in and out. It’s not “bush league” to them was it bush league when Michigan lost to app state ? Nebraska just isn’t that good and mcneese state was solid
You may be right about the choppy tackling, but you still cannot deny the profound effort on the part of Ameer Abdullah. That is the kind of effort that will always be remembered in Nebraska lore. He still bounced off players and still ran the distance late in the game naturally when dealing with extreme lassitude. That play underscores tremendous heart and courage though he did receive some assistance from McNeese State's horrendous tackling.

Ameer's brilliance saved Nebraska from ignominious defeat.
"that's talent that did that". Yes, yes it was.
Yep. Ricky Talent sprung the block. He was a savage
This game was, as of now, still the only Husker football game my niece has been to.
This was the first Husker game I had ever been to. It was really cool to watch!
You mean your McNiece?
“OAH!” - Matt Davison
I love Greg Sharpe's voice.
Great football player, better man.
think how many teams in the past , that we ruined their season. go big red

I agree with the McNeese state guys. They did play better. What a shit way to lose
GOD BLESS

Keep them feet moving
You wanna *beat* a *better* team than us in hindsight.

Agreed....though these days we would take it!

Huskers got away with a block in the back. good run though
That was no "amazing run." That was butt-ugly tackling by McNeese. Nebraska didn't win the game. McNeese won the game for Nebraska.
