That guy's question to them at the beginning had me answering: 'Um... because it is based off Disney's 'The Lion King,' the greatest Disney movie ever 0.o
I finally got to see the Broadway show this weekend...it was worth every penny for the ticket! The sets were convincing, the costumes were gorgeous, and the actors were amazing! I will never forget this glorious show!
I just saw the Lion King for the first time on Broadway and I was blown away...especially the way tshidi manye sang "he lives in you" - simply magical. I paid an arm and a leg for tix and would do it again just to hear her perform again!!!!
i have always loved this movie since i was little and im sure i will love the performance just as much when i finally see it in a week! rock on LION KING!!!!!!!!!!!
My most loved film of all time still is to this day and i have it still on vcr and this song has always been my most loved as well and i learnt the song off by heart and so was the main vocalist when my school did this for its performance, wish my costume was as good as theirs though xxxx
I saw this eight years ago, and then two years later and it still lives in my mind, a vibrant memory of true brilliance. I can't see this closing any time soon but when it does it will be a sad day for the theatre world.
saw this twice once in canada and once in toledo...this song is beautiful the performance is brilliant. These actors prop designers everyone associated with this modern masterpiece deserve so much more credit then what is shoved down our throats in modern media... i loved this R.I.P. Jason that man also was a talented individual who had a tragic end.
I like Tsidii Le Loka and Jason Raize who played Rafiki & Simba in the Original Broadway cast of The Lion King. I like the two people in this clip but I Like Tsidii Le Loka & Jason Raize much better.
I've seen a lot of movie and tv actors do Broadway or West End plays either because it's a hobby, they need a break, or are between projects. With the Lion King, who'd want to leave a major role in that play?
Hey! I’m a Lion King fan from the future, and listening to Endless Night as a full grown adult makes me tear up, especially knowing what Jason Raize went through. I pray that his soul is resting in a better place and I pray that we’ll meet in the next life.
damn right, you respect the others that do perform that part but Jason kicked some ass. And I liked the the performance on the Rosie O Donell show better than this new one.
@TheNewKeylaleigh no it's just that in "they live in you" mufasa is singing to baby simba, in this one mufasa is dead... i think it's a different song couse also he lives in you it's in the broadway version
I dont get why Tshidi doesn't go the high part at the start of the last chorus when ever she is doing this song in a live concert (and she sometimes does not do it in the show either) but I love her, every since way back in the Toronto production
Honestly, I miss Jason Raize's voice. Don't get me wrong, this Simba is clearly phenomenal, but anyone who watched the Rosie O'Donnell clip may better understand what I'm saying. I watched that vid by itself & just thought Raize was good, but when I compare it, it's nuts--he was BELTING out those notes, he was neck-deep in the emotion. All the best to these performers, but I'll always know who my favorite is.
Last time I saw was the 10th birthday in '09 and in '04. I would love to watch it again! (I swear the 10th birthday for broadway was '07 as I have the 97 broadway cast recording. They never bring out a West End recording which is v.annoying.)
i heard him sing live about a year after it had been on broadway, and I've had the cast soundtrack since then too, so yea i definitely know what you mean. He was just amazing. and yes he could BELT those notes out. he knew how to stress and put emphasis in it and make it sound so natural. I was depressed for a good week or two when I heard what happened to him. this simba is trying to but it sounds fake and forced. he does have a good voice though.
It would make more sense if they showed the entire scene. They left out the part where Mufasa reappears and then Simba announces he's going back. It explains the sudden celebration.
Ooh, that could be. I knew there was something completely "off" about this performance. When I watch this or the version on The View, all I can think of is the personification (lionification?) of the (yes, 12-year-old) internet posters who go, "HAHA LOL." Not at all how I remember it from seeing the show live or Mr. Raize's beautiful performance on Rosie. I know that the latter is technically a conglomeration of two scenes, but it's awesome!
@TheNewKeylaleigh no it's just that in they live in u mufasa is singing different lyrics, in he lives in u (this one) mufasa is dead.. it's a different song, couse both they live in u and he lives in you are on the brodway version.
Dachaun Young is little bit better than Andile Gumbi as far as Simbas go (Although Andile is in no way bad at all, he's pretty super too!) but I really can't decide which Rafiki I like more, Tshidi Manye or Brown Lindiwe Mkhize. They're both amazing. Love this song!! In the movie, Can You Feel the Love Tonight is best, but in the show, I think this one shares first place with Endless Night.
Wow! This is a very beautiful version of the song. I love the beat, the singers' voices, chorus & choreography in this one a lot. Very enchanting & magical. This one is a keeper. Please don't take this off of RUclips. By the way, I am very curious, what was Simba saying before he sings "He lives in me" on 3:25? & what is Rafiki saying on 2:56, 3:05-3:08, 3:13-3:17? :D
what Rafiki was saying is a local dialect language called Xhosa native to South Africa..so you won't or probably never Understand it if you ain't from south Africa or distinct to that language "xhosa".
thats Josette Bushell-Mingo?? if so i think shes just an amazing singer and actress... this one is unreal aswell but i think the power that josette brings just makes her that much better
After reading your post again, I think I must have been misunderstood more than I thought, especially since you felt the need to insult me. The only reason I can think of for someone wanting to insult me is if I have offended them in some way. I do apologize if that is what happened; it certainly wasn't my intention.
accents are so mesmerizing absolutely fab... Rafiki you are amazing
That guy's question to them at the beginning had me answering: 'Um... because it is based off Disney's 'The Lion King,' the greatest Disney movie ever 0.o
This show is pure magic. The only way to really feel it, is to see it preformed live.
He is quite the looker!
This song is just so damn powerful, has me in tears everytime I hear it. Go see this play, broadway, local show, doesn't matter. just go see it.
Amazing! has a biblical vibe.
I finally got to see the Broadway show this weekend...it was worth every penny for the ticket! The sets were convincing, the costumes were gorgeous, and the actors were amazing! I will never forget this glorious show!

i just LOVE this song so so much
I Love Those Costumes it looks so real
Who on earth would dislike this.
If this doesnt move you then i dont think anything will.
Ceri kenwood damn right
i have always loved this movie since i was little and im sure i will love the performance just as much when i finally see it in a week! rock on LION KING!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not really a theatre goer, however this really touched me when I saw it at the Lyceum Theatre in London. Definitely worth a watch!
Jason Raize showed this guy up big time, he always was the best, we miss him.
My most loved film of all time still is to this day and i have it still on vcr and this song has always been my most loved as well and i learnt the song off by heart and so was the main vocalist when my school did this for its performance, wish my costume was as good as theirs though xxxx

Goodness was there like 3 people in the audience? What kind of applause was that?
+Zoe S They were in the studio, not live on stage
I want to see this sooooooooo badly! Lifelong goal, right there!
Just saw this on Broadway last month. Magnificent from beginning to end
2020 finds me back here combing through the performance of this song. It is befitting the challenging times of my motherland Uganda
this gives me chills
saw this twice once in canada and once in toledo...this song is beautiful the performance is brilliant. Oh crap! I clicked this video, it opened, and I wasn't expecting to see or hear Matt Lauer. You don't even know what happened in 2017.
Tschidi Manye is such a gifted singer. Wow! 😍😍😍
Please keep this on RUclips 4ever & ever & don't remove it all. It's my 2nd all-time favorite version of the Broadway version of "They Live In You".
I saw this show in Singapore! I love it so much!

One day when the cure for the virus spreads around the planet, "They Live In You" will be the song for the celebration while they will be fireworks!
damn right, you respect the others that do perform that part but Jason kicked some ass.

different songs, but both are amazing
That was the saddest clapping I have ever heard in my life. -______-
Its Jason Raize not rice!! -.- and jason does the best version of this song enough said. RIP Jason 3
i wanna see the musical now.
Simba and his dad sings they live in you and then later on when simba is older, him and rafiki sings he lives in you, thats after mufasa's death
It would make more sense if they showed the entire scene. They left out the part where Mufasa reappears and then Simba announces he's going back. It explains the sudden celebration.
So refreshing to see actual talent when all you tend to see these days is crap.
Just saw in Austin
7 Time Matt, 7 Time

This is not Jason Raize. Two different people this guy in this video is Dashuan Young
@TheNewKeylaleigh no it's just that in they live in u mufasa is singing different lyrics, in he lives in u (this one) mufasa is dead.. it's a different song, couse both they live in u and he lives in you are on the brodway version.
no the original actor for adult simba i think his name was jason rize he was amazing... this guy is amazing too not sure of his name.
OMGGG I MET RAFIKI!!!!!!!!!
tsidii le loka is much better as rafiki, anybody else agree?
the one that was in the original cast or the most recent?
Dachaun Young is little bit better than Andile Gumbi as far as Simbas go (Although Andile is in no way bad at all, he's pretty super too!) but I really can't decide which Rafiki I like more, Tshidi Manye or Brown Lindiwe Mkhize. They're both amazing.

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
They could have clapped a bit harder at the end for such an excellen performance!
cool
Jose riven lion king 2
I was talking about how Simba looked. :) ("LOLZ" annoys me, too.)
@watermelon668 Because the director said that there weren't really any female leads
I agree. He's good but something is off. :/
this rafiki has the voice that shows wisdom but our london one is better overall
ingwenyama ingwe enamabala ..........!!!!
This one. (this is for me, sorry D:)
Wow! This is a very beautiful version of the song. I love the beat, the singers' voices, chorus & choreography in this one a lot. Very enchanting & magical. This one is a keeper. simba was saying 'ooh ntate' wich means father
and rafiki was saying 'Ubu khosi bo khokho [This is the throne of our ancestors]
We ndodana ye sizwe sonke [Oh, son of the nation)]
where is the video? version 2012
I don´t have, I shoud like to see again.
tshidi Mayne rafiki
dashung young simba
Ill send it to u now
Isn't that Dashaun Young playing Adult Simba in this one?
Alex Feltch a.k.a. Sonic AL Yeah, it is
One of the highly underrated Simbas. He just closed the Gazelle Tour. I'll miss him :(
thats Josette Bushell-Mingo?? if so i think shes just an amazing singer and actress... this one is unreal aswell but i think the power that josette brings just makes her that much better
No brown lindwe
Rafiki's fingers creep me out.
When do they hold auditions for roles such as Rafiki?
@megamissjblover um...it's the same musical. How do you copy something that's the same?
the rafiki in London is better (no offence) still a brill performance!
Its different in person. I have met her in person and she is by far the greatest Singer and most humble person i have ever met.
@watermelon668 In the Musical Theater version of The Lion King Rafiki is usually played by a woman.
The West end version is better but this is still good.
I think you mean he lives in you instead of they live in you
@ILoveMinnimoo chill your beans, just saying it is though. Her names Buyi Zama, look it up and get your facts right, 'pal'
that's he lives in you, not they live in you... :)
After reading your post again, I think I must have been misunderstood more than I thought, especially since you felt the need to insult me. The only reason I can think of for someone wanting to insult me is if I have offended them in some way. I do apologize if that is what happened; it certainly wasn't my intention.
wait that guy passed away!??
