    This just seems so much easier than using the displace modifier and the particle systems.
    Would be really cool to see how you could like add a road or something.

    Thanks for the introduction, I have been putting off looking at geometry nodes for a while. The only thing I had trouble with was the viewer to preview the texture, i could feed in and preview geometry but never colours or values the objects were always pure white which makes debugging output values difficult.
    Edit: looks like I didnt have the overlays on in the viewport.

    • @baeac
      @baeac  Год назад +1

      glad i could help! the previewing node confused me for quite a bit aswell but i figured out that it only works if you have a piece of geometry previewed AND you have overlays enabled,, then you can also preview the values like you would in shader nodes!

    Thanks so much for this. Subscribed.
    What I love most is your detailed explanation why you add each node and what the sliders do. I think that’s what scares people away from geometry nodes cos it just seems too mathematical and too sophisticated

      @mnieuwhof Год назад +1

      What is keeping me away is how to tell which node you need for what or how a node relates to build-in Blender methods. This vid was very helpfull understanding this 👍🏻

    Ps. If I wanted the trees to be in the center and have a margin of distance from the edge of the water (plane) how could I do it? Ex: setting with a map range that values close to zero be the selection of the delete geometry?
    Ps2. for all those who want to distribute two or more objetcs in the geometry must use the distribute in poisson disk, so that they do not overlap each other
    Thnx mate👏🏻

    My question is, when i want to distribute points on Faces for example only on a certain height, like shells on the sand, how would that be looking in the geometry editor?

    • @robertkerr4199
      @robertkerr4199 Год назад

      It's pretty easy... start with a normal node, into a separate XYZ node. Take the Z value into a Map Range node. Take the result from map range and plug it into a float curve and the value from that into the density of your distribute points on faces. Drop a math node (set to multiply) in between the float curve and points on faces to increase the density, then you can adjust the from min value in the map range node to change what height the points are drawn at. You can also use the float curve for finer adjustments.

    • @baeac
      @baeac  Год назад +1

      once you know the basics and what the basic nodes do you can start coming up with things like this yourself since you've trained your brain to know how nodes work and what that result might be. i also experiment a lot!
