Regardless if this guy managed to get all masterwork it doesn't really matter if the rolls on them are crap. The drop rates are fine considering you don't get good rolls on your items often. So, when crafting you will get Random bonuses to the gear you are crafting. That will be the ultimate go to for end game. Get the kills, get the ranks on each gear and then craft, craft, craft. What would be the best bonuses for each type of weapon and each bumper ability and each upgrade? That’s the real focus on end game and of the Hardest difficulty setting gives you the material for crafting legendary gear and maybe an object to adjust or Choose what bonus you want ( like 1 of the 4) or maybe raise a % by 1 point at a time or so on, that would be amazing!
This was an excellent made video. Thank for all the great info. I’m new to Anthem and I’m getting hooked!!! Its growing on me! But like any other game I love, I need to have the best gear!
I'm currently 460 power on my interceptor. I can consistently farm tyrant mine over and over with randoms. That's my favourite method. I got a crucial component for my build the masterwork ice glaive we all know ice is king for damage.🤗
Ice might be king but love the sparkdash n detonating strike build u can close gaps super fast and then just nuke hordes of enemies my favorite build, 406 right now , lvl 29
Purple are legendary contracts you can only do once per day and you're guaranteed a masterwork component at least after the contract. It resets at 6 am central.
Love the interceptor. I really enjoy Freeplay mode more than anything. Lately I have been using the MW Venom Bomb(melee weapon defeats increase acid dmg 100%) and MW Venom Spray(700% Ult charge on enemy hit). My Ult charged up so fast and it’s so much fun. My build will most likely change when I get different (masterwork) components.
Legendary contracts guaranteed masterwork component specific to your javelin on gm1, also on gm1 stronghold run guaranteed at least 1 masterwork per run, any type but specific to your javelin
Just saying for those who didn’t know it doesn’t matter what difficulty u have it on certain mobs lvl to your lvl so even if u have a lot of defense those certain mobs will still destroy your hp bar
To unlock legendary contracts you just need to complete the entire questline for each of the three agents, you dont need reputation of 3000. Additionally, they are limited to one per faction per day
They need to add a system of rerolling undesirable stats on masterworks and legendaries that take a long time to farm, or a system of reinforcing said equipment to make them better that also takes time. The option of set effects is also viable, making it so if you have these 3 masterworks/ legendaries u get a bonus set effect. While all of these options are viable if implement they needed to take a long period of time to do to keep players logging in. Events can always be added to reduce the grind if need be.
Crazy about this game is how challenging it is. You really need to coordinate combos and weaknesses. GM1 was challenging, I had to semi communicate. GM2 it's crazy. Nearly, communication need to be flawless. PS I love this game. I can't wait for March release date
Ancient rarity I'm down for, that would make sense based on how the enemies are. Elite is like masterwork, legendary is legends, and ancient would just be the best.
I haven't quite hit level 30 yet (28) and have just had my first masterwork, but not from any methods noted here. Mine came from the quickplay option (I think that's what it's called, where you jump in to fill up someone's on going mission). It's supposed to offer good rewards to encourage people to use it.
I have a 496 Colossus, the Reson your getting them is because they are masterwork contracts you get 1 at the end you have only 3 of these missions a day, normal contracts don't give good loot. GM 2 used to say extra loot chance of around 400% after some of the patches it vanished and I still have yet to get better loot from gm2 vs gm1.
If you get a mw but never picked it up Enemies can drop them you may not notice them or see them but the game will still give them to you at the end of the mission. I tested this out by actively avoid mw drops in some strongholds counting I got 2 rando drops and one from the boss only picking up the one from the boss yet I still had 3 at the end of the mission so keep that in mind
That's just grasping straws and you know it.... Different people different strokes, some people only have finite time to play and "rushing" the endgame farm helps them catchup to those who can no life it. Hell, people who are deemed to rush the game have invested over 30+ hours to the game to begin with so they're not rushing on top of having to deal with possible bad rng.
@@justevil100 yet there is hardly a point to grind that hard for inscriptions since they are pretty lackluster. Masterworks only giving 18% increased damage? Kind of lame and doesn't seem worth trying to get the "perfect role" since there really isn't even a point when there are 0 raids and only 3 strongholds to do.
Temple of the scar final boss is a nightmare to fight. The second you step out from behind a rock you have every rocket at the game coming for your neck
It's the same before your able to go to gm1 its better to just farm on normal for small masterwork loot pool and all your epics then when fully spiced with two masterwork weapons go to gm1 start getting components and abilities much easier
I think this might be different. My gear score won't go up by 100 so I can one hit everything on GM2. I think grandmaster was made so you can't overpower it with gear. They talk about team synergy and coordinating attacks. GG matchmaking.
@@BasedTitanG you have not beat the game.....smh you have beaten the story thats been released to date......theres a lot more coming including javelins and more story
The temple of scar end boss is actually pretty easy on GM1. Don't stand under the pylons, clear the adds in every wave before destroying the pylons and shoot at the boss's legs from behind cover.
Very nice video and it's informative. Now I know what I need to do to farm effectively, but it's a dick move to "raise awareness" after you've geared up which might simply ruin good loot for other people.
My "opinion" is that either they make masterworks harder to posses or add like a "ancient masterwork" a more scarce rarity that next to impossible to posses
Farm the first 2 chests of Temple of Scar using as much Support Luck % Gear as you can. My friends and I run at about 120-199% LUCK, and average 2 MW a run, some of us getting up to 5-6 pretty frequently. In one run, I recieved 8 pieces (Have the SS for proof if anyone doubts) Its boring as fuck, and repetitive as shit, but is hands down the fastest way to gear. Each chest phase gives you 6 pieces of gear (With high luck, you're pretty sure to get atleast 1 MW per chest) and takes only 7-10 minutes, depending on how quickly your group can clear content.
I did a GM2 contract this morning and got 3 masterworks. I just did Tyrant Mine on GM2 and got 4 masterworks. GM2 puts a physical strain on you and I can't do them back to back. GM1 contracts are probably the way to go.
Due to the loot nerf and the probability of getting trash rolls (close to guaranteed) harvesting is where its at. Until they fix the inscription allocation (they mentioned they were on twitter), time is honestly better spent building a harvest set and harvesting non stop for mats. Not really fun, but with proper inscriptions it will allow you to roll to a much stronger build right away (when the changes happen) with the right amount of mats.
You don't need rep for legendary contracts, all you need to do is the 2 quest lines per faction to unlock their legendary contracts. You can only do one legendary contract a day per faction for a total of 3 a day.
Love the video man great ways to level up how ever i jave seen some items that increase roll chance and item rarity would love to some videos testing that gear with higher teir loot chance and there names lol
They could always do insane cosmetic challenges like defeat all grandmasters 3 strongholds with a gear score of 100 to 200 to get the legendary armor set "unbreakable legionnaire", I dont think end game comes from being maxed out in masterworks, plus inscriptions are far more important . But players will keep coming back to do challenges to get gear, why I told ppl from time iam hype for this game yess it needs work but theres just so much they can do with the set up they put in place.
The nerf was to world chest and it happened before this video. The only nerf its received is to exploiting dungeons. The rolls are also better now. Plus I dknt see how people complain so much when you can craft them endlessly if you just stop to do their challenge. Meaning all you need is to get mats for perfect rolls. The hard part is just getting 1 of each to drop.
@@Idle_Timer Actually is was a world nerf. Ben I tweeted about it. Said for 11 to 12 hours masterworks dropped at double amount and that wasn't supposed to happen so they nerfed it and now it's slow as balls.
@@michiel2316 check your challenges home boy. Pretty sure the only thing you cant craft is components, which I could be wrong about those, which you're guaranteed 3 a day if you do your leg contracts. Which I rarely seem to get components as drops with how large the loot pool is, though I cant remember if I've gotten one not on contract so I'm not sure on that one. I assume their in the standard loot pool.
The day one patch unintentionally increased drop rates significantly. BioWare ended up nerfing it back down to the intended rate (IMO a good thing, slowly upping your gear is half the fun) so maxing our won’t be this fast now.
NotgreatBOB! The nerf was a terrible thing, at the rate they have it now, no one will be able to effectively farm gm3 until months and months of continuously grinding, it’ll kill the game if they keep it because progress will seem like it’s at a standstill which it technically is
TheAgentAssassin Rare and hard to get aren’t the adjectives I’d use, for example the Redrix’s broadsword in d2 is rare and hard to get, loot in Anthem is treated completely different, in order to get a god tier roll you have to go through 7 stages of rng, the rarity, the weapon, the 4 inscriptions and then a high roll on those inscriptions, getting 1-2 masterworks per stronghold is not going to be enough to make people wanna stay, I understand wanting to make end game worthwhile but at the rate it’s at, nobody is gonna stick around to play the game, hardcore players will leave because it’s not rewarding enough and casual players will leave because there will be almost no progression so they’ll end up leaving
Just an update to those dont know. Legendary contracts are daily and reward a guaranteed masterwork component. Regular contracts do not but are repeatable.
I am at the part of needing 50k of each loyalty to unlock all masterworks crafts for aigments. What a doozy! Up to 1k+ on one of them.. but man oh man what a grind.
the easiest method for me was to just run the Scar stronghold over and over for the 2 chests, basically do the trash clearing up to 2nd chest, then leave group and queue for another, very simple grind on gm1!
Hey you, yeah you! Channel5! I like this shit. Love to hear someone taking the time to get some raw numbers for the playerbase and explaining things clearly for everyone to understand. You got a new subber today, brother!
The game may not reward players alot with legendary items after hours of playing in a day but the fact that Anthem doesn't have a weekly limit on acquiring end game gear is one of the best things about the game. Also giving players the ability to gain blueprints for masterworks to get better rolls instead of just hopping it drops at random was a good move on Bioware's part. The game has its issues clearly but the fact that they are doing what they can to make sure everyone can acquire the end game loot shows they looked at other loot based games and wanted to come up with a system that works for all types of gamers. Whether you can play 30 hours a week or can only play for 6 hours a week you can still be part of the end game and not be ledr behind
On hard you only get a very limited lootable of masterworks. And they´re only weapons. Thats why we play grandmaster 1, to get the FULL lootable. Legendary contracts on gm1 also guarantee a mw component. Something i start with to gear out a new javelin.
The unique missions if done separately per person in your team for example if let's say you and your team all have the purple contracts if one person takes their contract and completes it then each person in their team takes and does theirs one at a time you can net 12 or more masterwork pieces in a mater of an hour or two
any purple mission of any king seems to give a MW...leg contract, strongholds anything purple u will get at least 1 MW...and when u go into fort tarsis u dont need max rep like u say below but once u do anything that advances time it will change ur contracts so its a ez way to get leg contracts is go to fort tarsis and open map u can see if any purple contracts if there is none go load into a freeplay then just exit back to tarsis and time will advance and open map again and see if a purple contract if not just repeat above....i have only had to load freeplay once to get a leg contract most times i get a legend contract when i come back to tarsis there is another waiting on me
99% chance of being nearly unusable due to the way inscriptions *used* to work. Yesteday's patch updated the way inscriptions are generated on loot and are now guaranteed that Gear-specific inscriptions apply for that gear. Support non-specific inscriptions still work the same, for obvious reasons.
Best way is luck on your gear. I usually get at least 3+ MW from 1 Tyrant Mine. Got 7 in one run once. Scar Temple is probably the fastest way to get MW if you want to tryhard and skip everything until last boss and burst him down. Takes like 3 min for 1-2 MW if you skip everything other than the last boss.
Masterworks needs to drop more because their affixes are generally garbage unless you're insanely lucky, but you still have to use them in order to hopefully craft better ones if it's the item you want. My very first Artinia's Gambit in HARD came with +175% weapon damage and +35% luck, and my first papa pump had +150% weapon damage and all shotgun affixes (although a 1% shotgun dmg increase is pretty lame, there should be a minimum value here above 1%). Now I'm finding guns that I would love to use but don't do nearly enough damage to justify changing. Choosing guns that are FAR inferior to the ones you're using is the only way for me to unlock the ability to craft them and hopefully reroll a better one since there is no activity in GM1+ that you can do to reliably farm guns, like you can with abilities and to a lesser extent components.
Concerning the Contracts: as I've seen it you get rewarded a MW Item upon completion but only for the purple contracts.. after doing a purple contract you get a yellow one. Than you get a purple again, so on so on.. Also could you explain if you have been in playing during the 11h loot paradise which has been stated bei Bioware was happening after the patch was rolled out. This would compromise your data. Thanks for the video and I'm looking forward to some more Anthem videos ;-)

David Neraas the repetitiveness is not bad I love the game. It just receives so much hate
My build will most likely change when I get different (masterwork) components.
most useful anthem video so far, tysm
Thanks for taking one for the team your my hero ❤️
Legendary contracts guaranteed masterwork component specific to your javelin on gm1, also on gm1 stronghold run guaranteed at least 1 masterwork per run, any type but specific to your javelin
Just saying for those who didn’t know it doesn’t matter what difficulty u have it on certain mobs lvl to your lvl so even if u have a lot of defense those certain mobs will still destroy your hp bar
To unlock legendary contracts you just need to complete the entire questline for each of the three agents, you dont need reputation of 3000. Additionally, they are limited to one per faction per day
Purple contracts are considered like a stronghold u will get a guaranteed masterworks at the end. When u finish it it says stronghold completed.
Elite is like masterwork, legendary is legends, and ancient would just be the best.
purple contracts are legendary and give a GUARANTEED masterwork component
Super helpful. Nice video man 🤙
I haven't quite hit level 30 yet (28) and have just had my first masterwork, but not from any methods noted here.
Thanks for that massive effort!
If you get a mw but never picked it up
Enemies can drop them you may not notice them or see them but the game will still give them to you at the end of the mission. I tested this out by actively avoid mw drops in some strongholds counting I got 2 rando drops and one from the boss only picking up the one from the boss yet I still had 3 at the end of the mission so keep that in mind
Why max out in one day? It is so fun progressing slowly and immersing in the game.
Gear score isn't everything. You need to get the perfect inscriptions on all of your gear is the path to max power.
@@justevil100 yet there is hardly a point to grind that hard for inscriptions since they are pretty lackluster. Masterworks only giving 18% increased damage? Kind of lame and doesn't seem worth trying to get the "perfect role" since there really isn't even a point when there are 0 raids and only 3 strongholds to do.
some ppl do not have a life thatshwy
lol K 18% with the new update I got a 1% damage increase for a level 30 item 😂
Dope Video! Sending blessing your way, Keep inspiring!🎒🙌🏻
Yup Strongholds on GM1 are the way to go. Every run, 2 masterworks dropped for me. 425 power now ;-)
Great video! Lots of good info thanks.
Temple of the scar final boss is a nightmare to fight. The second you step out from behind a rock you have every rocket at the game coming for your neck
I have 488 Gear score. GM2 is too stressful for the reward. No way I'm playing the Legendary lottery. I beat the game lol.
True. I farmed like 8 MWs in 5 hours of Strongholds in GM2. Gm1 I got 14 MWs and 1 legendary in 2 hours lol
I like a challenge.
GM2 forces you to really know your strengths and weaknesses.
@@BasedTitanG you have not beat the game.....smh you have beaten the story thats been released to date......theres a lot more coming including javelins and more story
The purple contacts give a masterwork when u finish
The temple of scar end boss is actually pretty easy on GM1.
Don't stand under the pylons, clear the adds in every wave before destroying the pylons and shoot at the boss's legs from behind cover.
Tyran Mine is just quicker, you snipe it, it dies, gg
Zía triple sniper sigil whirlwind or devastator with sniper and Crit damage build
Awesome research, thanks !
This is great info. Thanks very much.
I did a GM2 contract this morning and got 3 masterworks. I just did Tyrant Mine on GM2 and got 4 masterworks. GM2 puts a physical strain on you and I can't do them back to back. GM1 contracts are probably the way to go.
The legendary you got in the contracts you didn't pick up n got were in the purple ones. The purple contracts give a guaranteed master.
I did the same for 2 days, only getting to 470.
You were lucky, plain and simple.
You don't need rep for legendary contracts, all you need to do is the 2 quest lines per faction to unlock their legendary contracts. You can only do one legendary contract a day per faction for a total of 3 a day.
great video, thanks bro, saved me a lot of time
Love the video man great ways to level up how ever i jave seen some items that increase roll chance and item rarity would love to some videos testing that gear with higher teir loot chance and there names lol
I mean gear up as fast as you want, new content will be in March-May so if you do it quick enough you’ll just get bored faster lol
Masterwork drops have been patched since this video came out. MW drops have been nerfed so expect this timing to expand out greatly.
@@Topher2k4 you mean they corrected an unintended buff. That's not exactly a nerf. That's a correction, it was never intended to be that high.
@@Idle_Timer u can only craft weapons not other stuff like shields or buffs.
BioWare ended up nerfing it back down to the intended rate (IMO a good thing, slowly upping your gear is half the fun) so maxing our won’t be this fast now.
and some destiny 1 players still don't have the Icebreaker
NotgreatBOB! The nerf was a terrible thing, at the rate they have it now, no one will be able to effectively farm gm3 until months and months of continuously grinding, it’ll kill the game if they keep it because progress will seem like it’s at a standstill which it technically is
@@ExodusYTO
Good
High end gear should be rare and hard to get.
Regular contracts do not but are repeatable.
sir purple ones are legendary contracts which give a guaranteed masterwork thats what you got at the end screen even though nothing dropped ingame
Good job breaking it down.. Thanks!
This video is amazing! 5/5
I am at the part of needing 50k of each loyalty to unlock all masterworks crafts for aigments. What a doozy! Up to 1k+ on one of them.. but man oh man what a grind.
Pretty sure from what I've been playing, any event "purple" played at GM difficulty grants a Masterwork upon completion that isn't a "drop".
the easiest method for me was to just run the Scar stronghold over and over for the 2 chests, basically do the trash clearing up to 2nd chest, then leave group and queue for another, very simple grind on gm1!
2hrs of playing Tyrant Mine on GM1 I got 11 Masterworks and 2 Legendary's. But Rng was on my side ;)
Great info!
4 legendary. Most I found in free play. 1 last night. God roll rail cannon.
Hey you, yeah you! Channel5! I like this shit. Love to hear someone taking the time to get some raw numbers for the playerbase and explaining things clearly for everyone to understand. You got a new subber today, brother!
Less than 12 hours to MAX a game! Amazing!!!
But some good info here, thanks for the video!
All masterwork drops are rewarded if they drop somewhere on the map and you don't pick it up.
I've been spamming contracts on hard and all I find for masterworks are weapons, I found 6 in one contract yesterday and 3 were the same weapon
On hard you only get a very limited lootable of masterworks. And they´re only weapons. Thats why we play grandmaster 1, to get the FULL lootable. Legendary contracts on gm1 also guarantee a mw component. Something i start with to gear out a new javelin.
Legendary contracts give a masterwork when you conplete. The normal varies.
Great video thank you
The purple contracts IS the legendary contracts. For some reason they have an epic color..
The unique missions if done separately per person in your team for example if let's say you and your team all have the purple contracts if one person takes their contract and completes it then each person in their team takes and does theirs one at a time you can net 12 or more masterwork pieces in a mater of an hour or two
any purple mission of any king seems to give a MW...leg contract, strongholds anything purple u will get at least 1 MW...and when u go into fort tarsis u dont need max rep like u say below but once u do anything that advances time it will change ur contracts so its a ez way to get leg contracts is go to fort tarsis and open map u can see if any purple contracts if there is none go load into a freeplay then just exit back to tarsis and time will advance and open map again and see if a purple contract if not just repeat above....i have only had to load freeplay once to get a leg contract most times i get a legend contract when i come back to tarsis there is another waiting on me
You farmed a ton of masterworks. My question is.. how many of those masterworks had terrible/good/amazing rolls on them for the random perks?
99% chance of being nearly unusable due to the way inscriptions *used* to work. Yesteday's patch updated the way inscriptions are generated on loot and are now guaranteed that Gear-specific inscriptions apply for that gear. Support non-specific inscriptions still work the same, for obvious reasons.
Future content will be harder will different loot tables for now I want to gear all four toons im glad they made it user friendly
I’m currently 498 Masterwork ranger 💪🏽
Good video, loving the game and having a blast.
Awesome guide mate
You can play the Strongholds on easy if you only wanna have masterworks. I get 1-3 masterworks per run
What's important to stress is that this isn't really a "max" character. You aren't even close until you have the right affixes.
Actually really enjoy this game and find it a lot of fun, so much hate from the critics, sad only a few of us defend it
Masterworks needs to drop more because their affixes are generally garbage unless you're insanely lucky, but you still have to use them in order to hopefully craft better ones if it's the item you want.
Purple contracts at GM1 is a guaranteed masterwork component
You can do three legendary contracts a day for each faction
