How to Connect Wired Headphones to Your iPhone 15 Using the Apple USB-C to Headphone Jack Adapter

- To connect wired headphones to your iPhone 15 using the Apple USB-C to Headphone Jack Adapter cable is super easy.
One end of the adapter has a headphone jack input and the other end has a USB-C connection.
Just plug your headphones into the end of the cable that has the headphone socket on it, then connect the USB-C end of the adapter cable into the USB-C port on your iPhone 15.
Once everything is all connected, the iPhone 15 will automatically send audio, music, video sound etc. Straight to the connected headphones.
This adapter cable is compatible with the standard iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

I found out why mine wasent working I had to plug it in halfway first then all the way in and realized my headset caused the issue as using Apple AirPods worked better

Alright, Kevin. It’s also TRRS so you can use it with an external mic or headset/mic. However, I’ve got a USB mic cable that I’ll test soon, this allows lavalieres or anything on on 3.5mm TRS. Cheers, Dave.

Thank you. What if the corded "headphone" I actually want to connect to my iPhone 15 is the wired/corded previous Apple headset? (The wired headset that worked with the iPhone 11.) I don't know what the size is or what the old "plug" is called. It's not Lightening - the Lightening is on Mac computers. Thanks!

if i get usb c splitter to 2, one with female usb c for charging and other is 3.5 mm jack will it support? my device is iphone 15 pro and UGREEN usb c splitter to be specific?
There are also headphone cables with the charging port built in, so you don’t need a splitter.
But can you manage calls while using the cable, like the lightening adapter allowed for?

Alright, Tone. I mentioned that I missed Jack when I went the supermarket. The guy sold me a bottle of something called, Jack Daniels. It didn't help at all with my headphones but it did help me to forget about my headphone problem 😆 Seriously, though. I wish they would bring it back. It's all well and good using an adapter but if you forget it lose it, then you're back to square one. Cheers, Dave.

Is there a Bluetooth receiver adaptor for this application? That way I can keep my phone on my person while working and the music plays at my workbench.
The phone already has bluetooth audio capability.

I need a Bluetooth receiver that the speakers at my workbench can plug into and play back what the phone is sending from Spotify through BT. I need to keep the phone on me when I am a short distance from the bench, working on another object.
Signal flow - Bluetooth iPhone (Spotify) > Bluetooth receiver w/3.5mm female jack > 3.5mm plug (speaker cable/speaker)
@@DavidHarry also, new Bluetooth speakers are not the answer here. The existing wired speakers sound great.
I also have Bluetooth JLB earbuds that sound pretty decent, but create a safety hazard for me in the shop I work as I can't really hear what else is going on around me. The wired speakers at the bench would be ideal.

Do you have a clicker on the cable? I have to click mine several times and then the sound comes through. But it doesn’t control it like it used to.

@@smrjt9102 mine is an official apple 3.5 to usbc adapter. I have learned lately that if I hold down the clicker for a few seconds on my skullcandy earpods, it will start working. Occasionally it will even pause.
Plug in the device halfway first then once you hear audio plug it all the way in

Indeed, for such simple to-do steps, it's baffling that my USB-C to headphone jack adapter is not working.
I plug my headphones into the adapter. I plug the adapter into my phone. I get a weird pulsating 'click' every 1.5 seconds in my headphones... pressing 'play' on my music (on spotify) or on a podcast plays the audio through the phone instead of my headphones.

Dude I have the EXACT same thing going on, with those clicks and everything…I finally did what another commenter said and tapped the microphone button on my earbuds a bunch and finally the little notification popped up that said are you using headphones? But yeah that’s totally bogus. Idk what’s up with that

If your earpods have a controller, try holding the button down for a couple seconds. That’s how i got mine to work.

@@DavidHarry well in my case the problem was with a dongle, not with the headphones. I have changed the dongle and it starts working.

if u have a usb headset with a mic then connect it with a type c dongle - the mic does not work when calling....Same with the type c to aux - the mic will not work and the person on the other side will not here you! no apple fix so far...apple wants you to re-buy everything so they make more money
You probably won't see a fix. It appears that Apple may have "built in" this problem intentionally. You can use an adaptor to get the mic to work with other apps on the phone, but not with the phone feature. even a native usb c headset still wont work with the phone app, ever other app on the Iphone, yes, but not the Phone app. I fought this problem for years with Iphone X, 12, and now 14. You used to be able to make calls with wired headsets back with the Iphone 6, but Apple changed it. You won't be able to get customer support from Apple on the issue, because they have shaped their CS decision trees to avoid the issue: you will just get looped into an hour of troubleshooting that has nothing to do with the real problem, which is that it appears that Apple has intentionally disabled this ability. I tried every adaptor apple makes, and was never able to get it to work. I tried using the Logitech H390 headset, but no sequence of adaptors would work. I could get every other app on the Iphone to work with the headset, but never the phone app. I tried it with a headset that uses two 3.5 mm cables, using an adaptor into one 3.5mm then 3.5mm to lightning, no go. I tried a headset that combined both audio and mic into a single 4 pole 3.5m, and then into a 3.5mm to lightning adaptor, no go. I even tried purchasing the Apple Air Pods Max, which is advertised to work in a "wired" configuration, but it is disabled on those as well. The best you can get is wired audio without the mic function, to not possible to use the Airpods Pro Max to make phone calls in a "wired" configuration. It appears that no series or combination of adaptors will push audio and mic to and from an Iphone to the Airpods Pro Max through a wire, no matter what you do. TLDR: Apple appears to have intentionally disabled the ability to use wired headsets with modern Iphones. Search the internet, you will find thousands of posts looking to solve this same problem. The closest anyone appears to have come to a solution, is to use a headset with native 3.5mm 4 pole connections, through a UGREEN Headphone Adapter for iPhone Lightning to 3.5mm Adapter; a few people report being able to get it to work, some times.. maybe..
