The SNES versions are still my preferred way of playing simply because of purism (some of the new PSX tracks/graphics take me out of it even though it is overall a better experience) but yeah, I think within the next decade we'll see some fan translations pop up, a lot of PSX/Saturn fan translations have been popping up, just look at Tokimeki Memorial :)

Music sounds better when uncompressed and not limited by its hardware (PSX is definitely better when it comes to audio limitation)
