In Episode 52 Professor Fiamengo from the University of Ottawa argues that we are on the brink of losing Freedom of Speech in Canada and that all Canadians need to stand in support of University of Toronto professor Jordan B. Peterson.

It's ironic as an American that the most impassioned defense of bedrock American principles are coming from Canadians.
I’m glad these videos are available. I missed them when they were produced. They are, sadly and infuriatingly, very relevant 8 years later.

@@thorchristianstenbaek522 As far as I can tell, Thor, these videos were produced starting in 2016 as a critique of feminism, then were removed by RUclips and have only recently been reposted.

@@thorchristianstenbaek522 I think the videos are posted by the producer, not the professor, although obviously with her collaboration and consent. As for why they have resurfaced, your guess is as good as mine.

For a couple of decades now I’ve been watching Canada and Canadians unravel just like the nation of sheep that it is in the face of real world issues.
We are not permitted to say out loud anything that could possibly hurt someone’s feelings - unless, of course, it hurts the feelings of a conservative. The truthfulness of such statements is irrelevant - our own Supreme Court has said so. What I find most appalling is how many people who proclaim the value of democracy and freedom have no problem with this. I feel I increasingly estranged from my fellow citizens.
What do "hate speech" laws lay the groundwork for? Any nation that has "hate speech" laws does not by definition have freedom of speech.
Women and minorities(special interest groups) mainly. They want a dictatorship of the minority over the majority.

Thank you for seeing and speaking the truth. Especially in a country ready to persecute you to the full extent of the law, for such truthful speech.
There is no such thing as "Hate Speech." There is only Free Speech. "Hate Speech" is in FACT Free Speech, and what needs more protection than the very things one would say that you don't agree with?

My sense is that now in 2024 normies across the country (and especially parents) are seeing what is going on, including selective application of various laws and normies are getting fed up. A pushback is starting against the woke elite.
Free speech give ones full responsibility of his/ her expression of their thoughts. Everyone has the right to think whatever their capabilities lead to and being their own censor what to say without fear of punishment. Without free speech and the freedom to express your toghts there is no progress. Thank you.

At 2024 this is old news, but excellent to see this throwback for perspective. U of T sucked, didn't it. Not much has changed on that front, they are now unable to get rid of de facto terrorists from their front lawn.

I think Jordan Peterson is a hypocritical, windbag, who says a lot of words without saying anything. I also think he’s wrong about many things- but I 100% support he should be
allowed to state his views & opinions. The staggering hypocrisy that those supposedly fighting for certain groups to be allowed to use certain terms and express themselves how they want - while simultaneously dictating how someone else can express themselves, is staggering. Allowing people to say things you don’t agree with, with the exception of threats & violence, and Making “ Hate speech” equivalent to “ my feelings are hurt” is the end of a free society.
