On 15th May LNER ran the first public Azuma service from Kings Cross to Leeds and back. I caught it at Leeds and travelled as far as Doncaster on it. #Azuma

Once again almost there but not; having travelled on the Italian Frecciarossa 1000 with its advertised speed on 400kph this train is not much to shout about. Furthermore in western Europe the on board dot matrix is defiantly old hat as they have a LCD screen with speed, moving map, next station and of course multilingual announcements and multilingual staff, unless you call Yorkshire dialect a foreign language!!! Once again UK rail, way behind the curve fishing in a gallant 10th place
