FOGO FILMS there are only a handful of movies that I've wanted to watch again immediately after: Pacific rim, Kingsman, Avatar, Transformers, and I'm proud to say RP1 is now at the top of my list.
I was looking for an explanation about this part: "You're not an avatar, are you?" "No" "Is James Halliday really dead?" "Yes" "Then what are you?" "Goodbye" Can anyone explain this? Or is it just an unsolvable mystery?
yea,....somewhat,....like many movies and books some things are left ambiguous on purpose so the reader or viewer can make up their own mind as to how they want it to be.his brain being loaded into the oasis is more scientific,i myself like the idea that it was his soul because it makes the ending spiritual and more poetic,(imo) when someone dies with the burden of regret their soul remains in limbo and the movie somewhat revolved around all his regrets with the girl he loved and losing his best friend because of money,at the end he finds closure and his soul is at rest knowing that he helped another not to follow in his footsteps and through wade to remind his best friend what it was all about since the beginning...gaming,.....,im a huge gamer myself and love the message of the movie, like everything else in life the key is moderation.
To understand if Halliday's avatar is actually him. I'm guessing it's just his brain loaded into the OASIS. You're probably too fucking stupid to actually catch that while watching the movie.
Tjgaming _ for those who didn't know it wasn't really him in the ending but in a way it is. He managed to crack the code in programming your conscious into the program/game. Much like that movie Chappie.
MoK86 All that was explained was who the curator was, what and where many references were. But we all saw those things in theaters without an explanation guide and they were obvious. But they said nothing of Halliday which is what I can here for lol. So yeah your right.
How did you guys not even think to touch upon the actual ambiguous question at the end that we’re left with? Annnd this is why we’re not subbed to Looper.
I'm probably horrifically wrong but I thought that Halliday might have faked his own death to spend his last days with his younger relative, unplugged from the Oasis so as to "get a good meal" in reality.
Most likely he cracked a way to transfer his conscious to a digital host in order to immortilaze himself before his passing or did so and his physical body died in the process.
I think Halliday still alive as much as his avatar. Remember the Jade key when they have to dance with zombies before reach to the girl which he asked her out for a dance ? Art3mis got the key and about to said :”She was beautiful “ and Halliday’s avatar (The Wizard) said :”Just Go”
When Parzival talks about the 1st easter egg ever, that made me cry in theaters. So heartfelt when the creator of Adventure wanted people to just play the game for the sake of getting lost in the world... We need more people like him these days.
dream_scape3046-px12 I don’t think the Easter egg glowing was of much significance, more just special effects to make it look better. Since after Parzival found it, he inherited the oasis and over a trillion dollars, so I figured it was just glowing because it was the final prize. On the other note, not sure if Halliday is really dead, in the book he was, and it was just an avatar of him, but in the movie it might be setting it up for a potential sequel if he really is alive. Though that was the most “confusing” part of the movie. The plot was pretty straightforward so it wasn’t like it ended on a cliff hanger or had an ambiguous ending. That’s why I didn’t think an explanation was necessary, a video with all the Easter eggs in the movie would have been really cool cause there are a lot of blink and you’ll miss it ones. Plus there’s supposedly an illegal gremlin hidden somewhere.
PotBoyz I just thought there might have been something I missed, but the movie is fairly straightforward so it doesn’t need much of an explanation since the end is narrated by Wade. Finding all the Easter eggs in the final battle sequence would be a cool video though.
The only thing that was needed of explanation is in Halliday last stage explanation. When he shows the young Halliday playing the old game. It felt strange. He didnt answer the question of Persival. Was holliday still alive? Was his mind programmed into the OASIS game? Did he erased his final part to give the the "god mode" to Persival?
Only thing that needs explaining is Halliday and whether or not he either downloaded his consciousness into an AI Avatar before he died or if he’s still alive and faked his death
he did not. hes dead. He programmed this to make sure someone worthy took over the company. I dont want to be that guy but the book does this whole story way better. I would have much rather seen a miniseries that was true to the book than a movie that deviates in the first 10 seconds
Would definitely recommend reading the book before the movie! Doing so has made me appreciate the ways in which Steven Spielberg and the scriptwriters put their own unique twist on the original story. Be prepared for late nights of page turning though, I personally had trouble putting it down. I also thought the relationship between Wade and Artemis was considerably more romantic in the novel. Who doesn't like a bit of romance?
Well, yes and no. Halliday is dead. But based on what we've seen in the book, the Halliday you saw in OASIS is most likely an artificial intelligence program, Halliday's brain itself loaded in the form of data to simulate his behavior so he could talk to the winner.
Yeah, nah, in the book his AI congratulations would have been scripted something like "Congratulations, (winners name)....." so on so on. To answer your question, Halliday is dead and will stay dead.
Here's a thought. If the title of a video says "The Ending of (insert title of movie you haven't seen yet) Explained".....don't watch the frakkin thing! It's not rocket surgery.
People actually did rocket surgery. In 2010, cracks were discovered in one of SpaceX' upper-stage engine nozzle. They cut off the offending section and flew successfully anyhow.
there's a whole episode on Star Trek Voyager where rocket surgery happens, (so it can be a real thing...sort of) it doesn't end well for the rocket though...well, the smart missile
What I like about this movie is that even though it is heavily pop-culture inspired, it goes to ALL eras instead of just focusing on the 80s or 90s. From Atari to Back To The Future to Star Wars to Voltron to Gundam to Jurassic Park, great stuff for everyone
I think it is a product placement thing. Do you think the Gundam that also appears in Pacific Rim Uprising is a coincidence? But luckily it still make sense as Daito act like a samurai and his avatar name mean Big Blade. Where Gundam is model after samurai armor and uses a beam saber to fight Mecha Godzilla which are more fitting than Ultraman.
Two different companies in Japan claim international rights for Ultraman which is why it never gets licensed outside of Japan. It's just too expensive and logistically impossible.
Debdeep Majumdar Can confirm having read the book just before seeing the movie. Also the movie is pretty good. Not an all time classic but fun for what it is.
Great job of doing everything BUT explaining the ending of the movie. If that wasn't an avatar of Halliday, but Halliday is really dead, then what was the Halliday persona in the movie?
This is what i found. When Parzival wants to high five Curator(OG) OG refused. I used to think its not his style but i realised when OG revealed his identity to Parzival he always touches the lower leftside of his body/torso thats why he cant gave him highfive, he's injured/sick.
Anorak is a British slang which refers to a person who has a very strong interest, perhaps obsessive, in niche subjects. This interest may be unacknowledged or not understood by the general public. The term is sometimes used synonymously with "geek" or "nerd", or the Japanese term "otaku", albeit referring to different niches.
So when I see "ending explained" videos I think we're going to be treated to subtleties and meanings that might not be immediate to casual film goers. That's fine, but this isn't even that. It's literally just a recap of events in the movie. Looper has become a parody of itself.
What I really want explained to me is this: Why did the people who made the movie (ie. Spielberg) have a pentagram painted on the inside of the van and a head with goat horns on it on the outside of the back of the van (focused in on near the end of the movie).... ?
Percival: something I don't understand, your not an avatar...are you? Halliday: No. Percival: Is Halliday really dead? Halliday: Yes. Perzival: Then what are you? Hallyday: Your father... Perzival: Wait what? Halliday: Goodbye Percival, thanks...thanks for playing my game. ''Goes out through the door with the younger version of himself and with a weird smile on his face.''
The part where I went, "Oh! Now I get it," is the meaning of the quarter coin. Because I was so confused at first when Parzibal clearly betted all of his assets, while he only got a quarter as a win. Then at the back, it said, "Extra Life". He got to keep full inventory. Is that also why when you get extra life, you hear coin sounds? Also. Gundam vs Mechazilla. It was awesome.
Do we need these videos with every movie? It was a basic ending easy to follow....we dont need charts or theories or videos to explain easy to follow endings
Yeah, but when you really pay attention in the movie every action leads to something bringing a deeper meaning. Yes, Pacman is cool but in movie form that kinda hard to make epic.
In the book, but they cut it out of the movie :( that was the only change I had a big problem with, it was my favorite part of the book, so I was pretty bummed when it wasn’t in there
Cassidy Pitts My friend and I didn't like how they changed the copper key test, but we talked about it and came to understand why though (the solution to the race is still kind of silly when you think about what speed runners do to games). It was still disappointing that he didn't figure it out and go into the dungeon. My friend was especially disappointed because she wore her Joust shirt.
ddogbud Yea, I still prefer the other challenges as well, but still understand why they changed them. It seems like they cut out all the gates, and just kept the keys, probably for time but I still would have like to see it. I feel like if you set it to the right music and edit it in the right way, you can make playing joust or pac-man a really epic movie scene but oh well
Why does everyone ALWAYS prefer the book instead of the movie version? Is it just because you imagined and visualized the world yourself in your special little mind so you only like the way things are and how they look in your head and when someone makes a movie about it and its not exactly how you imagined it because obviously thats impossible so you just whine and bitch about it because the little world you created about the story in your head is much more precious than any other version
TDSnozzle, chill dude. It is normal for comparisons to happen because, ultimately, the book IS the source material so is unavoidable to look at the movie through the book lens. There are s few things that I missed from the book (like the PacMan game and Ultraman), but I absolutely loved the movie.
I read disappointing reviews about this film and then I was absolutely surprised at how good it actually is on many levels. Spielberg is still a genius and the film itself is full of Easter eggs about esoteric messages, trust me, I have studied gnosis and other esoteric sciences and I know about this. I'm a 35 year old sane person, not a 15 year old Transformers fan. The film is comparable to The Matrix.
Ready Player One is a really good movie. Tye Sheridan and Olivia Cooke have good chemistry. I am beginning to see now that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a real influence behind the book and the movie.
I kinda wished you would have waited until after the weekend to explain the ending to give other a chance to lose their shit when they see the gundam vs mecha Godzilla fight
The whole movie as far as I'm concerned is great. But the very end where you have Samantha sitting on Wade's lap was stupid. I think we could have done something a little more creative after what they did with the rest of the story.
Just saw the hours and OMG !!!! I was expecting to watch to good movie since it has Steven Spielberg at the helm, but I got more that I bargained for. With all the easter eggs and references around the movie , one thing was in my mind. Mr. Spielberg has stepped up the standard in Avatars. I hope James Cameron saw this too. So good that I'm probably gonna watch it again.
So glad we have these "I'll explain the ending to you idiots" vids. Besides repeating parts of the movie back to us, maybe you can actually explain a mystery from the movie. Wade asks Halliday: "You're not really an avatar?" Halliday: shakes head "no" Then Wade: "Are you still alive?" Halliday: shakes head "no." SO! Explain that one.
Did that really need explaining? I clicked thinking I must have missed something but no. Just a stuff that's hardly vague being over explained. What a waste if time effort and RUclips space
Parzival doesn't "Get Artemis", they both find each other. I really hope most people who watched the movie, also read the book. They are both as socially awkward as they come, and if they end up together is because they finally understand what they feel are their insecurities in the real world is what makes them amazing for each other.
He smile when he saw the glowing light of easter egg..At this moment, his smile is not that evil kind of smile, it's a smile when you finally clear the game after huge amount of effort as a pure player, the satisfactory kind of smile...This scene shows that Sorrento actually has passion of gamer developed deep inside his heart after making all these gaming-related stuff in his company for so many years..
From my point he didnt shot him bc when he get the easter egg in that moment no one alse could get it anymore so all this rat run was over. But after a while of thinking its big option that its bc of as Darek Chula says👍 Guy sees this great easter egg and just freez in his imagination/world.
Im asking myself the same Question. And i cant tell it was because he finally saw the Egg and came to Sense. He wasnt a Gamer at all, why would he care? All he wants is control about the Oasis. I mean, he couldnt even remember his PW without having it written down on a piece of Paper next to his Chair- though it was something like Bo55G4merxxx
"Wining Artemis as the ultimate prize" because yeah, girls are always here to be a reward for the male character........that's not what the movie was trying to tell at all
This could be made in real life. I can explain this because if we have virtual reality already in what like 2015? And this is set in 2045. And we have a game called vr chat which is very similar to this movie (and book) where you can go into portals and choose your avatar. So I think if technology keeps moving on we’ll have this in the future. Just a thought though.
I loved how each challenges was made, and I couldn't feel more of the same way. Sometimes i just wish you just pedal to the medal and go back to the old days. Plus the old arcade style games as well.
Ryan Duca they got rid of some of the best moments from the book they got rid of all the challenges for the gates and they changed the challenges for the key and they changed the part where it was actually wade who infiltrated IOI but on purpose to get the shield down also they changed the fact that ogs birthday was in the club instead of them just being there and wade needed to actually have a perfect game of pacman to get his extra life and that is just a handful of the things they changed/got rid of
Ryan Duca You don't need to wish for something that is already reality. The movie is trash. I could've made a better movie, and I suck at directing, that's how bad Spielberg is.
This has to be one of the biggest disappointments of the year for me. Why Spielberg, why? The final act, especially, feels like it's been written by an intern! Chaotic, blurry character development, this film may share the Book's name but it is nothing like it.
a war? not chaotic? wow, reasonable argument...character development is there, they just dedicated more time determining the hero´s heart and the message of the movie, just like charlie and the chocolate factory, greedy people and people spending way too much time in devices, you didn´t get it did you?
Zack Fair same, the book built up art3mis and parzivals relationship and they made it clear that they were both there to win the game on their own, the movie COMPLETELY changed that, giving their relationship no build up at all and just having parzival straight up say he’s in love with her after just having met her. Didn’t make sense to me. And the whole “win the copper key through a race” instead of the very smart hidden joust game game sucked. It would’ve been such an better movie if they stayed true to the original storyline
Meliza Gonzalez I’m sorry but the majority of people would rather see an action packed scene rather than Parzival playing Joust or Parzival playing through the events of WarGames or Parzival playing a game of PacMan. With the OASIS being so limitless in terms of rules and weapons, etc., one would think that it should be more action packed rather than someone just playing a game. Honestly, does anyone want to sit and watch someone play 80s arcade games for 2 hrs. You might as well just go to an arcade and spend the money you would spend for the movie ticket at the arcade.
One of the brothers was supposed to die, and Parzival turns himself in, in the book. That makes the contest so much more intense and real. So disappointing
gundam do not lost shithead..........just unfortunate time limit that set upon.....should that do not exist in first place....everything should been slaughter by him
Absolutely brilliant. I never read the book but what I witnessed on screen was brilliant. My entire childhood through young adult life all there. Was fun to enjoy with my son and him look at unfamiliar characters with curiosity and excitement.
I love both the book and the movie as two separate entities. In the words of Scott Cawthon "what makes for a good book does not always make for a good movie" Yes I realize he said game and book but the phrase works just as well here
So basically, nothing at all like the ending of the book. You could just say that and be respected more for being honest than a shill for the movie industry.
you don´t know the definition of adaption, do you? there is no movie perfectly adapted, with all the legal rights, all the characters allowed from companies as well as movies mentioned, books, etc.
have a nice life pretending in movies everything is perfectly adapted, especially in hollywood with all the legal rights, EVEN the writer is OK with this ending, so you must have an incredible argument againts the creator as well...
Hell I was overjoyed that the final challenge actually did involve playing Adventure and getting Robinett's Easter Egg. I've been telling people for weeks "well OBVIOUSLY a Spielberg movie's not going to have a guy sitting there playing Adventure for Atari ..."
MrAnonymule Jurassic Park is a timeless classic, yet it's vastly different from the book. This movie isn't much different either. There's gonna be changes, one way or another. Now go take a look who's writing the story for the movie. Yes, ERNEST CLINE himself wrote this movie. So when you're saying the movie's shit, you're shitting on him too.
On Planet Doom.. but no Voltron team up with the Iron Giant. To see the Blazing Sword cutting through Mecha Godzilla would have been epic. That was an opportunity missed.
I was disappointed that Parzival didn’t take on the form of Anorac in the end like in the book and have all his stats maxed out with the ability to pretty much mod the game to his liking.
Never has my tiny Gen-X demographic seen so much nostalgic love in a movie. Thank you Mr. Spielberg. I loved your movies since being scared out of my wits in your 1975's Jaws.
Not sure about you guys but as a gamer, I was really literally struck by the ending scene where Halliday told Wades that he realized that connecting with the people in the real world was more important than the fantasy world in game. Game, to me has been something like a drug to escape the realities other than to pass time, and so this scene really made an impact to me in emphasizing the point of "get out there and get a life".
The book is good, very good. It also has its flaws which slavering fanboys are loathe or incapable of admitting. The movie is good, very good. It also has its flaws which slavering fanboys are loathe or incapable of admitting. They share a similar premise and characters but there are significant changes from one media to the other. I enjoyed both and while there are many things I would have liked to have seen in the book on screen I acknowledge changes must be made for different media. Both film and book are worth enjoying but do not be personally invested in either being a perfect parallel of the other.
You forgot something. The most questioned ending. Is james halliday alive? If not who is controlling james halliday in the ending when he gave the egg and stuff?
the darkness For your information I already watched the movie but at the end it seemed as if Halliday faked his death or something when Wade asked him if he was dead
Diego Gama He is dead. But the movie hints that there may be something more to his NPC. It may be suggesting that Halliday uploaded his consciousness or his memories to the Oasis. But since this is something entirely original to the movie, we wouldn't know for sure until they made a sequel.
1. This doesn't clarify the actual ending 2. Mechagodzilla was taken down by Artemis. Not Dyto. 3. We watched the movie, didn't need an explanation of the entire movie. Maybe try new writing tactics? Just my two cents.
Forgot the problably most dubious part of the ending that was on the Halliday room when he said that he was death but didn't die. At first it was like a mindblowing scene but maybe Halliday transfered his consciousness into the OASIS just to live forever in there or to greet the player.
What other movie endings would you like us to breakdown next?
All the otherones that haven't been released yet...
Looper A wrinkle in time.
How about not doing this series and do games instead
What about Akira?
Looper .....Wrinkle in Time I was lost with those two movies
"Ending explained" sure is a weird way of spelling "The entire movie retold, without actually explaining the end"
JbtSveZauzeto1 RIGHT? I just want to know who the fuck actually was that Halliday at the end
JbtSveZauzeto1 Btw kul ime xD
Forty 7 exactly what i was thinking
Forty 7 THANK YOU!
Forty 7 probably himself. He uploaded his consciousness into the oasis and now he's there
This film might not win any Oscars or anything but man, It's been a while since I've had real fun watching a movie, and this one made me feel alive!
Andy Ordonez best director, I think people will warm too it and best director for the Spielberg 2018
Best director and Best Visual Effects for Ready Player One!!
True. This Movie won my Heart. Better than any Trophies handed out by old Fucks who have no Clue about what touches "us".
FOGO FILMS there are only a handful of movies that I've wanted to watch again immediately after: Pacific rim, Kingsman, Avatar, Transformers, and I'm proud to say RP1 is now at the top of my list.
I was looking for an explanation about this part:
"You're not an avatar, are you?"
"No"
"Is James Halliday really dead?"
"Yes"
"Then what are you?"
"Goodbye"
Can anyone explain this? Or is it just an unsolvable mystery?
Not completely sure but there's 2 options:
1) It's his brain loaded into the Oasis
2) He faked his death
@@DanielKarl I'm guessing it's 1
it’s his sprit....and when he takes his younger self out of the room with him his soul is finally free and he’s out of limbo.
@@tatitorodriguez376 so technically a slightly modified option 1 of my comment right?
yea,....somewhat,....like many movies and books some things are left ambiguous on purpose so the reader or viewer can make up their own mind as to how they want it to be.his brain being loaded into the oasis is more scientific,i myself like the idea that it was his soul because it makes the ending spiritual and more poetic,(imo) when someone dies with the burden of regret their soul remains in limbo and the movie somewhat revolved around all his regrets with the girl he loved and losing his best friend because of money,at the end he finds closure and his soul is at rest knowing that he helped another not to follow in his footsteps and through wade to remind his best friend what it was all about since the beginning...gaming,.....,im a huge gamer myself and love the message of the movie, like everything else in life the key is moderation.
Seeing this at the cinema was brilliant with the visuals!
& the sounds... marvelous
That reminds me how come we don't see call of duty and dead space 3 references
Amazing film..its f'g chucky 🤣😂
Andreas M Chucky was really having sooo much fun... haha
Redzy Rezali Lol! The film was already made, then that shit killed me! I uploaded a clip 😉
Why would this film need an ending explanation?

Tjgaming _ for those who didn't know it wasn't really him in the ending but in a way it is. He managed to crack the code in programming your conscious into the program/game. Much like that movie Chappie.
That was fucking messed up, he brought up a valid point. The ending left nothing more to explain it was an extremely easy concept to grasp.
ummm so nothing was explained. all you did was tell the whole movie

Exactly!
This is exactly the ending I’m waiting to hear explained!
I'm probably horrifically wrong but I thought that Halliday might have faked his own death to spend his last days with his younger relative, unplugged from the Oasis so as to "get a good meal" in reality.
This was more a cliff note of the film rather than an ending explained. Basically you don't know what Halliday's " ending avatar was either.
Most likely he cracked a way to transfer his conscious to a digital host in order to immortilaze himself before his passing or did so and his physical body died in the process.

Technically Art3mis took down Mechagodzilla. She threw a grenade into it's head too blow it up. Daito & Aech just weakened it.

Is this a GOOD movie?
Have you read the book? NO? You'll like it.
YES? Stay away from this. It's trash compared to it.
Zack Fair I'll be sure to read the book AFTER I watch the movie.
As you wish; the book is a love letter to the 80's while this movie is like hey, are you 12 and like Overwatch and Halo? Come watch this!
Read the book... Loved the movie, this is one of the few cases where the book was worse than the movie
Debdeep Majumdar Can confirm having read the book just before seeing the movie.
Also the movie is pretty good. Not an all time classic but fun for what it is.
This should be titled "Some easter eggs plus the ending retold", no explanations here, Looper has just gotten good at clickbaiting.
Do we really need the movie explained a day after it releases?
IceSikle I agree what is there to explain.
It is for people who kinda confused what's happened
even though i didn't watch yet
Yes.
Channel needs content I guess.
And then they put dumbshit in their thumbnails that people dont want to see im finally done with looper
i mean you should say ester eggs explained. not ending explained
Great job of doing everything BUT explaining the ending of the movie. If that wasn't an avatar of Halliday, but Halliday is really dead, then what was the Halliday persona in the movie?
Andrew Elliott his conscious loaded into the oasis
This is what i found. When Parzival wants to high five Curator(OG) OG refused. I used to think its not his style but i realised when OG revealed his identity to Parzival he always touches the lower leftside of his body/torso thats why he cant gave him highfive, he's injured/sick.
when Mechagodzilla is wrecking shit, you can hear the theme from the original Godzilla, and it was pure joy.
Agreed on the greatest easter egg is Love! In fact it was funny that assassin character said "A man who has friends isn't a failure".
The ending wasn’t even explained in the video?! THEY JUST SUMMARIZED THE WHOLE MOVIE!
The closed captioning on this video slayed me! The translation of the Excalibur spell is the best thing I've seen in ages.
Made sure to watch this in IMAX. This movie blew me away, especially at...”I CHOOSE GUNDAM”. Goosebumps...
What I really want explained to me is this:
Why did the people who made the movie (ie.
But..but, how else should they be making Money?? Pick up a real Job? cmon Man, thats rude to say. Better make Money off other People work.
....didnt he win the extra life basically by beating Pac man on his search for a key
Cadrian98 In the book, yes. The movie changes how he gets the extra life.
TDSnozzle no the book is just better
this is different however, it wasn't just different imaginations of the book, its a complete spin off.
People just like to put themselves on a high horse. Same people that lie and say they've read a 400 page book in one day.
Wa Ri ....i did....couldnt put the book down and had read it all in about 5 hours....amazing book...looking forward to seeing the film
The film is not bad. But the book is monumental. People should read it first, if possible.
I'm freaking wishing there's a sequel. 😭😭
We are getting a sequel😭
I read disappointing reviews about this film and then I was absolutely surprised at how good it actually is on many levels. Spielberg is still a genius and the film itself is full of Easter eggs about esoteric messages, trust me, I have studied gnosis and other esoteric sciences and I know about this. I'm a 35 year old sane person, not a 15 year old Transformers fan. The film is comparable to The Matrix.
This was a sick movie. Considering I’m a gamer and had anime references. Movie goals 👍
Ready Player One is a really good movie. Tye Sheridan and Olivia Cooke have good chemistry. I am beginning to see now that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a real influence behind the book and the movie.
I kinda wished you would have waited until after the weekend to explain the ending to give other a chance to lose their shit when they see the gundam vs mecha Godzilla fight
troublemaker240 Why the fuck would someone be watching this if they hadn’t seen the film already?
They do this for every new release just a heads up. But yeah you knew what the title of the video was.
There was actually leaked footage of that fight, and I was the only one fangirling during that fight in the entire theater.
You must have that version of RUclips that forces you to watch vids. You should get that looked at, mate.
Grevlain lmfao
The whole movie as far as I'm concerned is great. But the very end where you have Samantha sitting on Wade's lap was stupid. I think we could have done something a little more creative after what they did with the rest of the story.
Came
For the explanation of hallidays avatar. Didn’t get it
Thank you for the excellent explanation😎👍🏻
Just saw the hours and OMG !!!! I was expecting to watch to good movie since it has Steven Spielberg at the helm, but I got more that I bargained for. With all the easter eggs and references around the movie , one thing was in my mind. Mr. Spielberg has stepped up the standard in Avatars. I hope James Cameron saw this too. So good that I'm probably gonna watch it again.
Nathangames_ YT What does IKR mean? not familiar with that term
3:14 "Now that's truly Meta."
Explain that one.
god mode
I just rewatched this movie in 2020... it's still freakin awesome!!!!!!
Even though I'm not an Overwatch fan, I had a geek moment when I saw Tracker.
Mikaela Nielsen
I had a heart attack when you mispelled Tracer.
Mikaela Nielsen get out 3rd grader
I think I see Tracer at least 3 times in the movie. I sense product placement in work.
Axl Hernandez Don't have to be an asshat and by you saying 3rd grader one can assume your 12
But reaper was There
I've read the book and really enjoyed the adaptation into a movie. This was a good breakdown for the folks who never read the book.
So why does the ending need to be explained???
The end of this movie had me in tears. Definitely one for the collection
Actually I am looking for an explanation for why Sorrento didn't shoot Parzival. That scene make no sense.
Solipsius this isn't the book tho
He smile when he saw the glowing light of easter egg..At this moment, his smile is not that evil kind of smile, it's a smile when you finally clear the game after huge amount of effort as a pure player, the satisfactory kind of smile...This scene shows that Sorrento actually has passion of gamer developed deep inside his heart after making all these gaming-related stuff in his company for so many years..
Studio MC Even Sorrento is overwhelmed by the egg there's a lot of meaning in it.
I mean, he couldnt even remember his PW without having it written down on a piece of Paper next to his Chair- though it was something like Bo55G4merxxx
i cried at the last scene of Halliday with Wade.
"thank you for playing my game"
"Wining Artemis as the ultimate prize" because yeah, girls are always here to be a reward for the male character........that's not what the movie was trying to tell at all
I think they meant love was the ultimate prize, which was something the movie was going for.
True, I just think that the video anchor worded it terribly
The saddest part for me was the Voltron Lions were in the battle and didn't form the defender of the universe.
Winning Artemis as a prize? So she's just a prize to be won?
Why did this need a breakdown? Did this really have to be explained? Is there that many people that have trouble with abstract concepts?
The book 📖 was way better than the movie 🎥 but I liked it as well.
Timothy Adams I agree the book is WAY BETTER
Timothy Adams and wade should of got the extra life quarter for the perfect Pac man game
I was looking forward to wade becoming ultraman
Yeah I agree but i think they did a great job of taking that idea of ready player one and making it Cinema ready
PrimeShotTS The PacMan game would have ruined the pacing.
This movie is amazing. Can't believe people aren't talking about how great this film was.
Too bad the movie isn't as good as the book
randomness you wish
Solipsius spielberg isn't bad just it was the screenwriters who fucked up
randomness You guys had too many expectations, learn to lower them for adaptations
I thought this was supposed to be an "Ending Explained", not an entire recap of the movie.
Meliza Gonzalez, The author sold out unfortunately and who could blame him?
It was KIND OF Serenity...
"Damn yokels, can't even tell a transport ship ain't got no guns on it."
Did they see the movie? SPOLIERS gundam lost against mega Godzilla
Henry withAW, Ikr! Gundam only damaged Mechagodzilla. It was Artemis with the help of the Iron Giant who ultimately took it down.
No he ran out of time you he only had a few seconds left.
True. Perhaps had Daito had more time then he would have taken out mecha Godzilla solo. But he couldnt in the two minutes he had
gundam do not lost shithead..........just unfortunate time limit that set upon.....should that do not exist in first place....everything should been slaughter by him
Mecha Godzilla should´ve a Time Limit aswell.
Absolutely brilliant. I never read the book but what I witnessed on screen was brilliant. My entire childhood through young adult life all there. Was fun to enjoy with my son and him look at unfamiliar characters with curiosity and excitement.
If a movies ending has to be explained the producers of it failed!
No it doesn’t, it’s just like saying the shining is a bad movie just because it’s ending is confusing
Also the ending is self explanatory Looper are just a bunch of idiots
I love both the book and the movie as two separate entities. In the words of Scott Cawthon "what makes for a good book does not always make for a good movie"
Yes I realize he said game and book but the phrase works just as well here
my new fav movie, speaks to my gamer side :) I wish the Oasis was real T_T
EchoSpark 267 oh really?
The scene with Chucky had me laughing so hard during the fight
So basically, nothing at all like the ending of the book. You could just say that and be respected more for being honest than a shill for the movie industry.
you don´t know the definition of adaption, do you? there is no movie perfectly adapted, with all the legal rights, all the characters allowed from companies as well as movies mentioned, books, etc.
none of which have anything at all to do with what changed. Thank you for clearing that up for me.
have a nice life pretending in movies everything is perfectly adapted, especially in hollywood with all the legal rights, EVEN the writer is OK with this ending, so you must have an incredible argument againts the creator as well...
That was an opportunity missed.
actually the book ending is waaaaaayyyy better...
Do tell.
I was disappointed that Parzival didn’t take on the form of Anorac in the end like in the book and have all his stats maxed out with the ability to pretty much mod the game to his liking.
This movie is a pop culture geek's wet dream! I'm an uber movie geek and I loved it!
Never has my tiny Gen-X demographic seen so much nostalgic love in a movie. Thank you Mr. Spielberg. I loved your movies since being scared out of my wits in your 1975's Jaws.
They should have used baraka in that Goro bit
Not sure about you guys but as a gamer, I was really literally struck by the ending scene where Halliday told Wades that he realized that connecting with the people in the real world was more important than the fantasy world in game. Game, to me has been something like a drug to escape the realities other than to pass time, and so this scene really made an impact to me in emphasizing the point of "get out there and get a life".
Saw it today....LOVED IT.....
Without exaggeration the book is 100X better.
Oh Thank God I'm not alone in thinking this! You sir are Awesome!
I didn't think the ending was literal enough! I was lost before this frame by frame analysis!
Gundam RX 78-2 😆😆
What is the core message of the movie in relation to perception?
I loved the movie though! ☺
Himnish gaming how can anyone not!
I thought you were going to discuss Wade's question at the end, what is Anorak/Halliday's virtual presence?
🎥like (◔‿ゝ◔)🎥
You forgot something. The most questioned ending. Is james halliday alive? If not who is controlling james halliday in the ending when he gave the egg and stuff?
Is Halliday alive at the end?
Diego Gama He's dead in the beginning dumbass.
Read the book instead of spoiling yourself the movie.
the darkness For your information I already watched the movie but at the end it seemed as if Halliday faked his death or something when Wade asked him if he was dead
the darkness Settle down dumbass, he's asking about a mystery that's exclusive to the movie.
Diego Gama He is dead. But the movie hints that there may be something more to his NPC. It may be suggesting that Halliday uploaded his consciousness or his memories to the Oasis. But since this is something entirely original to the movie, we wouldn't know for sure until they made a sequel.
Victorious Secret Thank you
You forgot to answer the question he asked "You're not an aviator are you?"
This was such a good film
It was a better book
Barnaby Scott I didn't enjoy the book that much to be fair...
1. This doesn't clarify the actual ending
2. Mechagodzilla was taken down by Artemis. Not Dyto.
3. We watched the movie, didn't need an explanation of the entire movie. Maybe try new writing tactics?
Just my two cents.
great movie
Forgot the problably most dubious part of the ending that was on the Halliday room when he said that he was death but didn't die. At first it was like a mindblowing scene but maybe Halliday transfered his consciousness into the OASIS just to live forever in there or to greet the player.
