  • The rubber trim is peeling on your Dell Latitude E6540 E7240 and won't glue back down. Super common. No Worries, no tools needed. No display removal. Just a simple step by step process to replace the display trim bezel on a Dell Latitude E6540. The rubber edge commonly begins to peel off. Even powerful glues fail to hold the rubber to the plastic for more than a few weeks. A new replacement trim bezel is not expensive and was well worth the easy installation.

    Thankyou so much sir my brand new dell g15 has its bottom bezzel coming off a little like 2-3 inches! Could u maybe tell me if it will be repaired for free by service centre as i have 3 years warranty?😊

      It's a common problem. I would try to talk them into sending you a free replacement bezel. If they won't send you one, then you can buy them all day long for 12 bucks and put it on like in the video. I am surprised they haven't learned how to make a bezel that can withstand being gripped hard without coming apart. Good luck with it.

      Idham Rafy Labha: I'm glad you liked the video. For the E7240 I added a link that should get you in the right direction. It's a very similar bezel with same install process. Thanks for the question, I hope that helps.

    Where can i get this rubber seal ? Any link to purchase ?

      You won't find just the rubber. You need to replace the whole trim as shown in the video. For nearly any model, it's best to just search on the model number and display trim and you will get many sources to buy from. Example: search on "dell e6540 display trim" , and you will see many examples. I hope that helps.

    is it a must to have an adhesive? can i use an ordinary double sided tape? thank you

    • @ScubaMoto
      @ScubaMoto  2 года назад

      sky: The only adhesive used in this video came with the new replacement trim. I did not add it. If your new replacement trim piece comes without the adhesive strip, then yes, you could use a thin double sided tape. Thanks for watching and for the question. I hope that helps.

    I'm having this rubber peeling from my Dell Inspiron 15R 5520

    • @ScubaMoto
      @ScubaMoto  Год назад

      The 5520 appears to be a bit easier. I don't think there's an adhesive strip. Good luck with it.

      @@ScubaMotoany way out solution other than part replacement?

    • @ScubaMoto
      @ScubaMoto  Год назад

      Even he best glues didn't last more than a month. The 5520 trims are less than $20, so that's my recommendation.
