With the scalloped bracing it resonates better than a D28 which has non scalloped bracing. The scalloped braces allow the top to flex and vibrate more.
I've heard this guitar sound quite a bit more full and rich in other videos and I think it is a pretty good sounding and performing instrument. I think I see why maybe it sounds so thin in this video. The mic looks like its pointing to the middle of the neck. If that is a directional mic then it could be rejecting a fair amount of the sonic information projecting from the body. In that case I wouldn't blame the guitar for the perceived thinness in this vid. I like this guitar, it seems like a contender for live performance.
Thanks. Basically the D-28 is a traditional dovetail, Forward shifted non-scalloped braces VS D-16E RW is simple dovetail and forward-shifted scalloped braces. ALL differences are on our spec pages > D-16E Rosewood specs: www.maurysmusic.com/martin_d_16e_rosewood_guitar_specs D-28 Specs: www.maurysmusic.com/martin_d_28__2017__specs

totally agree. very poor mic'ing job. it's a very rich sounding guitar, prominent bass as a typical Martin should be
its a slim body it will never have the depth of bass
The new 16 series has some pretty neat guitars at a decent price. I'm looking at the 000
Like your review, you always keep it nice and simple. Could you please tell what is the difference between this one and d-16rgt. Wich one in better?
Amazing i have my i love it
I have a D16E and a Yamaha FGX5. Pretty neat playing the same part with each. FGX5 is better.

Can someone help me please? I believe I have a D 16 E but I believe it’s made with Sycamore back and sides. Is this possible?
Please contact the seller or Martin at www.martinguitar.com/contact-us
